I just watched a bio of Stephen King on TV. I am interested in reading some more of his novels.
I have read
Carrie,
Christine
The Shining
The Stand
Salems Lot
Aside from these what other Stephen Kind novels did you really like?
Which one is your all time favorite?
Thanks:)

The Stand is my favorite by far, I did like his short story, The Mist, better than the movie that came out recently.

I liked the movie better, which is a rare occurance for me. I read the story after seeing the movie, so maybe that has something to do with it...

I LOOOOVED Everythings Eventual! it's a collection of short storys.

Desperations
the girl who loved Tom Gordon
Misery
Nightmares & Dreamscapes (another collection of short storys)
Thinner
Cell

Right now I'm still reading the Dark Half. I've been reading it for a loooooong time but it really creeped me out so I put it down and haven't picked it back up again:rotfl:

I liked the movie in general, but I liked the ending of the book better, it was much more vague, so you could assume what you want happened, unlike the movie which had a horrible ending

I like The Stand the best, then The Shining, and then The Talisman with Peter Straub.

The Eyes of the Dragon is a great King book that not a lot of people have read. :thumbsup2

Oh the Stand by far. Interestingly in an interview he was quoted as saying is was not his favorite but seemed to be his fan's. I love the mini-series too.

Salem's Lot scared the bejesus out of me first time I read it. Same with Pet Sematary. I really liked the Cell too.

Bag of Bones and the Talisman are my favorites.

Night Shift
Skeleton Crew
The Dead Zone
Misery
Needful Things
Gerald's Game
Dolores Claiborne
Insomnia
Bag of Bones

But, of course, my absolute favorite King of all time is The Stand.

Another fan of "The Stand", not only did I buy it when it first came out - but also bought again when they reprinted the edition with all the cuts added back in. I usually re-read it every 2 or 3 years.
Also I like one of his novella's maybe called "The Walk"???? I forget the exact title but it's the one where everyone starts a walk, and if they stop, they're killed. The one remaining at the end gets a big prize. It's been a long time since I read that one, now I'm going to have to go dig it up and read it again :)

The Stand is my all time favorite with Rose Madder as a close second and have actually read all of his novels. I am now reading Skeleton Crew which is another book of short stories.

Can I say on this thread that I didn't really care for The Cell?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention "It" Out of all his books that's the one that scared me most.

Thanks everyone -I like hearing both sides. I want to read some more -but I have limited time and would rather read a "sure thing"
Did anyone else see the TV show?

Yes, The Stand and The Talisman are my favorites. I also really liked Delores Clairborne, and The Langoliers (short story)

That is a GREAT book. I agree it's very creepy.

That's one of his more obscure ones, and I havent read it in years. I did like it a lot though :)

To this day I am afraid of clowns because I read this one for a book report in 6th grade :rotfl2:

I love how Delores Clairborne and Geralds Game tie in with the eclipse. Have you read "Black House" the sequel to "The Talisman"?

My favorite and the most epic story I have ever read is by Stephen King. It's called "The Dark Tower." It's 7 books long and one of his most amazing works. It connects in some way or another to nearly every one of his other books. If you're not into horror, it's more of a fantasy/western/sci-fi type story than anything else. I <3 Roland of Gilead

The Stand is my all time favorite and then I loved the Dark Tower series. Desperation was also a surprise favorite.

I'm a total Dark Tower junkie.

OH YES! Very much am a Dark Tower junkie glad he finally finished the series.

The Gunslinger
The Drawing of the Three
The Waste Lands
Wizards and Glass
Wolves of the Calla
Song of Susannah

My favorite novel is Insomnia.
Also The Green Mile is excelent.
Gerald's Game is a little wierd.
