stephen king novels

I think the Dark Tower series is a masterpiece. The 1st book, the Gunslinger, was a little hard for me to get into at first but I kept plugging on and I'm sure I did! The Talisman co-written with Peter Straub would be my favorite single book, although there was a sequel to that called Black House, but I can't remember if King was a co-author on that one or not or if it was just Straub.

You might want to buy his re-release of The Gunslinger. It's a bit easier to read, and also he's tossed in some stuff that wasn't in the origional that helps develop Roland earlier on.

Lisey's Story doesnt make much sense until pretty far along, then everything clicks into place. I'd have to say it's one of his weirdest books, but it's good.

My cousin actually had On Writing as a text book in her college lit class :goodvibes

Hearts in Atlantis is an excellent read. I loved that book.

Have you all seen 1408? That movie scared me silly. I am a die hard horror film fan and it has been a long time since I actually JUMPED while watching a movie. It was based on a King short story.

I LOVED this movie (actually let my 11 year old dd watch it with us - bad idea). I detest horror movies, but love scary movies (and I'm a long-time King fan).

Are you referring to Danse Macabre? I have it but have never read it for some reason I think I bought it and then stuck it in my little library and forgot about it.

No. This is from the On Writing writers resource book written by King.

In this last section of his On Writing book-- King shows his first draft of 1408 (its actually called 1408 in this draft) and the second writing draft. Its about 2 pages long as an example of a radical writing revision.

It - read it in two days on the beach

The Langoliers - we better hurry up, yesterday's coming.

Misery - how could you not love a book that talks about a man drinking his own pee.
