stephen king novels

I love how Delores Clairborne and Geralds Game tie in with the eclipse. Have you read "Black House" the sequel to "The Talisman"?

My favorite and the most epic story I have ever read is by Stephen King. It's called "The Dark Tower." It's 7 books long and one of his most amazing works. It connects in some way or another to nearly every one of his other books. If you're not into horror, it's more of a fantasy/western/sci-fi type story than anything else. I <3 Roland of Gilead
I may be wrong but isn't The eyes of the Dragon a sequel to the Dark Tower Series? It has the same Character Roland in it.

Thanks again everyone. So "The Gunslinger" is the first dark tower book?

These are the ones I have read I have put them in order of my favs.

1. Desperation
2. IT
3. Cell
4. Green Mile
5. Pet Semetary
6. The Shining
7. Carrie
8. The Mist
9. Thinner

My favorite Stephen King book of all time is The Dead Zone.

I'm a writing major in college (actually I have three majors, writing is one of them) and we read a Stephen King book in class. The book was called On Writing. If you are interested in writing it is an interesting read! In essence, it is an autobiography of his climb to fame as a writer. The book stops right after his accident and the healing process.

I highly recommend the Dark Tower Series. Start with those 7 books (The Gunslinger is the first) and then read all of the books that connect with it.

The characters from the Dark Tower weave in and out of many of King's other books. It's amazing and it brings a whole new perspective to his books.

I like The Stand, Salem's Lot, The Shining, Desperation, Insomnia and Bag of Bones best I think. Desperation is a particular favorite. Don't forget that he writes some stuff under the name of Richard Bachman too.

I was just about to say this. It is amazing how he intertwined all that info over decades! I know some people think he is a hack writer, but to me he is very intricate and detail oriented. Roland is one of my all time favorite characters, and I absolutely love the book "The Drawing of the Three".

I have read just about everything that man has published. So hard to pick the faves

The Stand and It top my list of read-over-and-over-agains.

If you read Desperation, also read the Regulators by Richard Bachman. They are so intertwined, they should be read one after the other. My suggestion is to read the Regulators first, then Desperation. Desperation is a better read, and the Regulators is pretty surreal. IMO, the Regulators enhances Desperation, but reading Desperation first makes the Regulators hard to swallow.

Similarly, if you read Delores Claiborne also read Geralds Game. They are both stories of events that happen during the same solar eclipse, but other than that are completely separate plots.

I love his short stories. A couple of my favorites are the Mist, Survivor Type and the Long Walk. I also like the novella The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.

If I were to recommend only one right now, it would be the Mist. But only because the movie is out now.

I just watched a bio of Stephen King on TV. I am interested in reading some more of his novels.
I have read
Carrie,
Christine
The Shining
The Stand
Salems Lot
Aside from these what other Stephen Kind novels did you really like?
Which one is your all time favorite?
Thanks:)
I read all of those except Christine and The Stand was my favorite. I read a couple after those and it remains my favorite.

I thought I was done with Stephen King and then I read Cell. Now I know I'm done with Stephen King.

The Dead Zone scared the crappola out of me many years ago.

I LOVE the Dark Tower series. I started reading The Gunslinger in Junior High, and he finally finished the series a few years ago (I'm 35!). Talk about drawing it out!

I don't think I've read The Eyes of the Dragon-so I would like to know if it involves Roland!

My all time favorite book is The Stand! I did love the miniseries, but don't like most of the movies based on his books. His is so warped, and the movies just can't put it onscreen. So much better to use your imagination! The movie It just didn't compare to the book at all.

I enjoyed the Cell, too. I got Lisey's Story for Christmas last year, and loved it, but my sisters didn't like it. They aren't as into his novels as I am though.

To me, The Mist is a big exception. It followed along with the story quite well but the movie has a way sicker twist than King did. I'm still kind of reeling over that movie.

I think the miniseries are usually kind of cheesey. Have you watched "The Langoliers" lately?
It's kind of bad -in a good way. Kind of a guilty pleasure kind of movie
