OK, I have enough responses for my class. Thanks guys! :)

If that is really the case (which I highly doubt) have fun on the DIS from now on. :)

hmmmmm how many people will respond to the OP in the future after being conned..??

rather unethical for a college professor

Please don't tell me someone with so many "control" issues is a psychology professor???

Gah.

I think I've heard everything, we're now part of a scientific experiment here on the DIS.

So how did we do? :earseek:

We are all off a dibby dab:crazy:

I believe that noise you hear is the sound of 100's of Ignore buttons being pressed simultaneously. :p :p

I do the same with my candle and Tupperware parties,

The living room is being used for different purposes. My living room is not for lounging, .

Hold the phone......your husband and child can't use this room because it's where you have your TUPPERWARE PARTIES??

      :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You couldn't have told us from the beginning and asked our opinions as adults? Had you told us your intentions in your original post, I would have bet you would have gotten the same unbiased response from the DIS.

Sorry Amirah95, I won't be responding to anymore of your threads.

Hmmmmm...not such a good idea to "set people up" - if in fact, that is what you have done..

Personally, I think every word of what you have posted is true of your real life and the above comment is an "out" for a thread that didn't produce the type of responses you had hoped for..

If it's not an "out" - as someone else has already said - PLEASE tell us you are NOT a psychology professor.. Without "trust" psychology is useless...:(

:teeth:

Your post count isn't THAT big. Just close it out and start over again with a new name.

I totally agree. However, in case your "story" is true, I suggest that you change your user name asap.

::yes::

I always thought that was the way it was supposed to be too
OFF LIMITS...I've been married 22 years and when we first got married I put HEAVY PLASTIC coverings over all the furniture and lamps in the living room, that is what I grew up with.
After about 3 months DH tore all the plastic off and took it to the Dump:eek:
AS for taking OFF the shams on the beds and the "just for show" bedspeads...well, that didn't fly well either.
Needless to say we use the living room, den, family room dining room and every room and after all these years I still don't like it, but what's a gal to do, there's no sense harping.

I'm sorry, the story is true (yes, I'm a compulsive nut when it comes to my home and that's something I need to work on :)) and that's why I think it will be a good topic for this new class the department wants to test this semester called The American Family (a Psychology based elective). I'm gathering different situations and social issues among family, etc. It's quite boring, but topics like this make it interesting. Thanks!

Sorry but I don't believe you made up anything for your class. I think you got responses you didn't like and felt silly.

Maybe she's just saying its for a class because she's realizing the sillyness of the whole thing. A little too much detail for "an experiment".

JMHO

I agree. Perhaps none us should respond to her for fear of her making it up. Anyway I don't think the class part is the truth. I think it is sad that a professor lies like that about saying it is for a class. What a role model.

IF it IS for her psychology class, one must remember that deception is often used in psychological experiments. However it isn't considered "unethical" as long as the tester informs the subjects after the experiment is over.

It's a common practice which I learned of in my psychology class just yesterday :)
