Staying at the Grand Californian on points, can I upgrade to concierge using cash?

We will be staying at Disneyland's Grand Californian next month. We have reserved a preferred view. No concierge rooms were available during our stay.

If they have a concierge room available at arrival, can I pay cash for the upgrade? Or must I use points since the reservation was made with points?

We are going in Jan and had the same question. I was told that if there was availability you can always upgrade using cash

At DVC resorts it's no but it's up to the hotel you are staying at. Frankly, I'd be worried you might not be able to do it. As for always be allowed, that's not my experience or understanding. And if they do allow it, it will be the difference in rack rate between the two rooms.
