Congrats on your upgrade!
We too had the good fortune of getting an upgrade once. When we got to the pier and handed the baggage to the baggage-guy, we asked if we needed to put new tags on the bags, or re-write our new cabin number, or what. He told, "Don't worry about it. The computer will pick up the change." I skeptically believed him and handed over our bags--especially since there were umpteen cars waiting for our spot at the curb.
Needless to say, we didn't get our suitcases by the time the ship had set sail. I called Guest Services and inquired about the bags, but they said, "Don't worry--not all bags have been delivered yet." I explained to them that I thought that our bags had been mistakenly placed at the old cabins. But they said, "Be patient...."
We ended up going to dinner in the clothes we had boarded, since at 6 'o'clock, still no bags. Afetr dinner, I swung by our old room to check, and sure enough, the bags were sitting outside our old cabin. I flagged down a porter and asked that our bags be moved, and then went back upstairs. After another hour (about 9pm) we finally got our bags--and that was only after I flagged down our Room Steward and told him that our bags were sitting outside the other cabin--4 floors down.
Moral of the story--make sure you SCRATCH OUT those old cabin #s, or you will wait forever for your bags.
PS--Now you're probaly asking why I didn't go and get the bags myself....First of all, I'm on vacation. And secondly, there were three suitcases, which is about two more than I can handle!
