Anyone know why they got rid of all the seating in the Main Street Bakery and the Fountainview Cafe when they changed over to Starbucks? It stinks to not have an air-conditioned place to sit (when the temp. is in the 90s) while enjoying an iced coffee.

If they can keep you moving they have a better chance of you spending more money. $$$$$$

I always found the seating area to be a bit of a nightmare. I think there was one time I actually ate inside. It was way to small anyway.

I used to like to get coffee in the Market Place once in a while, but I hate Starbucks. I don't drink foofy coffee and their regular coffee is undrinkable. I think most Starbucks patrons have no idea what good coffee really is.

Just another reason to not renew my annual pass...

You will be missed. :thumbsup2

I think they figured out that the volume of customers in busy seasons required 6 pay stations plus the extensive refrigerator cases... thus no room left for seating.

~LOL. Tables and chairs cost money. Disney has no interest in creating a space for guests to actually enjoy their items. Get your stuff and get out! But, it is funny given how most Starbucks are known for their fabulous seating and inviting little nooks and corners to cozy up in -- even the Starbucks at Krogers and Target manage to squeeze in a few tiny barstool chairs and tables. :lmao:

Exactly what I was getting at!!! It seemed so.... empty...

~Yeah, I know what you mean. Maybe Disney Starbucks just wants to be prepared for very long lines. :goodvibes

And there are VERY long lines. It was out the door one morning last month! I love Starbucks, but not that much :lmao:. Even the epcot one was fairly busy, but we did manage to head in there once so dh could get an ice chai.

mmmm...salted caramel....mmmm skinny vanilla latte....mmmmm caramel brule latte....I will be happy to have these at WDW.

With countless other places to sit at WDW, I would rather sit outside somewhere than those small few tables they used to have at the Bakery.

We roast our our own coffee at home and, in our opinion, Starbucks is the best as far as large chain coffee goes.

I agree with the OP on this one. I'm bothered more by the lack of seating than the brand of coffee they sell. We go to WDW every August. If you think you are going to sell me a hot cup of coffee in Florida in August and then expect me to go outside to drink it, you are nuts! :rotfl2:

The one at DCA only has 2 pay stations and the lines were very slow.

Where did you get your DIS board name? Lots of people love Starbucks coffee and disagree with it being undrinkable.

:offtopic: What does this have to do with seating. :rolleyes2
