Starbucks Seating

We roast our our own coffee at home and, in our opinion, Starbucks is the best as far as large chain coffee goes.

IMO, 7-11 has the best coffee. the only thing I really enjoy at Starbucks is their White Mocha and their pumpkin spice. But their espresso drinks really do the trick on an early rope drop day!

I agree with the OP on this one. I'm bothered more by the lack of seating than the brand of coffee they sell. We go to WDW every August. If you think you are going to sell me a hot cup of coffee in Florida in August and then expect me to go outside to drink it, you are nuts! :rotfl2:

Yeah, my thoughts exactly! There was one really brutally hot day last week...we were in Epcot. We grabbed an iced coffee at Starbucks (which somehow was cheaper than the much smaller iced coffee at Sunshine Seasons) and wanted to just sit and recharge our brains...so we ended up going across the street to Electric Umbrella...but it's not quite that easy on Main Street..

I thought I read it was to cut down on wait times. I drink Starbucks on occasion, but I still love Dunkin' Donuts coffee the best.:coffee:

. . . It stinks to not have an air-conditioned place to sit (when the temp. is in the 90s) . . .

1) Starbucks/Disney want to sell coffee.
2) They don't want people taking up space and not buying
3) It is all about dollars-per-square-foot.
4) You may buy the coffee there, but footage for sitting has no revenue.

But in that respect, an unhappy guest who had to drink their coffee in the sweltering heat, may not return. And the fact that Main Street and Adventureland combined only really has one spot left that is not a table-service restaurant with air-conditioned seating (the little area in Casey's) does not help that cause.

And anyway, to remove the seats does not mean more people will buy coffee, it means LESS people will buy coffee, because they can't find anywhere to sit and relax.

My sentiments exactly! Loved the old Main Street Bakery and never had problems with its charming (to us anyway, and many others) seating. We seldom waited more than a few minutes for tables, if any, but never went right at opening. It was worth the little wait for us to enjoy our coffee and cinnamon rolls in comfort - yummy!

Will not patronize them anymore, and no, I do not expect them to miss me! LOL My prerogative though, as well as others to enjoy their starbucks!

Wow! WDW truly is where adults become kids again! Looky all the tantrums!

"I don't wanna go to starbucks! you can't make me! you can't make me! I want the old one back!":rotfl2:

I used to like to get coffee in the Market Place once in a while, but I hate Starbucks. I don't drink foofy coffee and their regular coffee is undrinkable. I think most Starbucks patrons have no idea what good coffee really is.

Just another reason to not renew my annual pass...
~Awww, please come back! Seriously. :lmao:

And there are VERY long lines. It was out the door one morning last month! I love Starbucks, but not that much :lmao:. Even the epcot one was fairly busy, but we did manage to head in there once so dh could get an ice chai.
~Very long lines??? Pics or it didn't happen! :rotfl2: No, I am glad to hear that business has picked up recently. :goodvibes

I doubt this will happen. Although there are a lot of Starbucks naysayers, there are a lot of Starbucks fans as well. And they will buy a cup of coffee or a latte whether there's a place to sit or not. They will stand in line for coffee, like me. But apparently I don't know what a good cup of coffee tastes like.

There's "on the go" people and "sit and relax" people. LOL

And you're talking about people who knew there was seating in the bakery. How many people walked by that bakery never going in and might now go in if they know Starbucks is being served? How many people that have never been to Disney before will go into the bakery now never knowing it used to have seating? Anyway, I doubt that it will decrease sales is all I'm saying. There were only like 10 tables in there to begin with (it seemed) anyway. Every time I ever went in, there was never an available table. Ever.

it was also tight and crammed.. Only place we would ever sit in there was on the back wall counter bar.

My family and I were at the Starbucks for opening day in June. It totally wasn't busy. Got our coffees and we were on our way. I do wish they had Starbucks/Magic Kingdom merchandise for sale. Does anyone know if they are selling Starbucks/Magic Kingdom merchandise yet? YES...we are big Starbuck fans!! ;)

It's the many little inconveniences that makes the guests not want to return. Believe me - this is why I will never go back to certain food locations in NYC. No air conditioning on a hot day? No respect for customer satisfaction? They lose customers...sometimes forever. It's the same with WDW. Taking out the seating for no reason does not help anyone, just hurts the ones who want to sit.

That's because everyone wanted to sit down in the air conditioning. You just proved my point. Thanks. :cheer2:

And especially because of the fact that Starbucks is known for their comfortable seating and charging stations, it makes absolutely no sense.

Actually... no... Most busiest time for bakery is in the morning right after opening. People grabbing a fast breakfast. After that rush, the bakery is pretty much empty for the rest of the day with maybe a spurt here or there. So except for breakfast when it's not particularly hot yet, there's no need for seating, so your point is still invalid.

I'm so happy to grab my Starbucks & enjoy it in MK! No need to sit down. :) But do they still have the same cinnamon rolls at the bakery or has all that changed too?

you can get the cinnamon rolls at gaston's tavern now.

The NEW Starbucks opened last week on Main Street, DL! YEAH! But wait, basically maybe 10 tables. Maybe.

Ugh, it was so blasted hot here too that week and DH & I also like to sit down and enjoy our Starbucks but there was no way we would get a seat at all.

Now over at DCA when they did all of the Park over, they put in the BIGGEST Starbucks. Tons and tons of seating. And that was 2012.
