Starbucks Seating

Actually... no... Most busiest time for bakery is in the morning right after opening. People grabbing a fast breakfast. After that rush, the bakery is pretty much empty for the rest of the day with maybe a spurt here or there. So except for breakfast when it's not particularly hot yet, there's no need for seating, so your point is still invalid.

False statement - I've been there plenty of times during the day when it was crowded. I used to get one of those homemade ice cream sandwiches and sit and eat it (cuz it can get messy otherwise) and it would be pretty full in there.

Either way, to get rid of the option STILL makes no sense. Even if your statement was true and people only used them in the morning, at least people had a spot to sit and eat! Giving them NO option takes away from guest experience and makes the space look VERY empty. It is a HUGE room with nothing in it but a couple counters and a "milk and sugar station" as I like to call it.

I did say a spurt here and there so yes my statement is still true.. I don't know what the big deal is really, I'd much rather grab a bench outside and soak up everything if i wanted to stay in ac all day I would just stay at the room...

"I don't wanna go to starbucks! you can't make me! you can't make me! I want the old one back!":rotfl2:

That made me laugh.

And especially because of the fact that Starbucks is known for their comfortable seating and charging stations, it makes absolutely no sense.

They are?:confused3

I get Starbucks at least once a week, and it is rare to find anyone using the tables they have. I think most people grab their coffee and go. At least that is how it is around here. Not sure what the point is in having tables that hardly anyone would use. They are just another obstacle to maneuver around while hanging on to your drink.

I see that you are from Louisiana, so maybe that's why you don't have the need to get out of the sun every once in a while... But I do. Coffee + sun = counterproductive. I think sitting down for 15 minutes in the AC whilst enjoying an iced coffee and staying at the hotel room are two ridiculously different animals! Exaggeration Central if you ask me.

But I do see your point. I do love sitting by the Plaza or outside by Caseys and soaking everything in as well...but there are just moments in the day where you need to get inside for just a little while. That's all I was saying.

I guess the one thing we all agree on is that we all like coffee. :coffee: hehe :thumbsup2

Grab your iced coffee and go grab a seat in COP lol

I've never been to a Starbucks without tables in NYC. LOL - I didn't realize tables get in everyone's way. I guess I'll rent a moving van and haul away my dining room table before my fiancee trips over it and drops everything. ;) (I hope you can tell I'm just joking around with you, btw.)

I don't think you are correct in saying that "hardly anyone would use" tables. I think MANY people would. Grab your coffee and go is for people on their way to WORK, not people on vacation, trying to relax. You have to at least agree with me on that one.

People definitely do hang out in Starbucks up here in the PNW :) You will often see people reading/working on a laptop or tablet/doing homework/etc at Starbucks at almost any time of the day.

Of course, we do have crazy amounts of gray/rain throughout the year. That may be part of it.

Honestly, I am excited about the new Starbucks locations in WDW. My plan is to grab an iced beverage and walk around MK or Epcot! :)

So interesting to me how different places can be. In Boston if you get a table in Starbucks well then it's your lucky day! I love Starbucks, but usually grab 'n go. Once in awhile I will sit if meeting a friend, it's just such a relaxing setting away from the hustle and bustle.

Here too in Philly. There are never any tables and never any parking either!!

It's the many little inconveniences that makes the guests not want to return. Believe me - this is why I will never go back to certain food locations in NYC. No air conditioning on a hot day? No respect for customer satisfaction? They lose customers...sometimes forever. It's the same with WDW. Taking out the seating for no reason does not help anyone, just hurts the ones who want to sit. That's because everyone wanted to sit down in the air conditioning. You just proved my point. Thanks. :cheer2: And especially because of the fact that Starbucks is known for their comfortable seating and charging stations, it makes absolutely no sense.

It's only "for no good reason" to you. Because you don't know Disney's reason. They don't have to explain every business decision to us. And just because they don't doesn't make it an invalid or "not a good" reason.

I think I've walked in that bakery maybe 5 times in my adult life. It's just not something that ever appealed to me. Now that they have Starbucks I will be there every time.

So don't worry, you can be angry at them all you want. There's always somebody else to fill that spot. ;)

I used to like to get coffee in the Market Place once in a while, but I hate Starbucks. I don't drink foofy coffee and their regular coffee is undrinkable. I think most Starbucks patrons have no idea what good coffee really is.

Just another reason to not renew my annual pass...

If you enjoyed the Market Place "coffee" I'm not sure you get to judge starbucks drinkers. And IMO so few people are getting brewed coffee there anyway...the overroasting taste is much less pronounced in espresso drinks.

And I think you are talking about dlr right?

:thumbsup2

The one at DCA only has 2 pay stations and the lines were very slow.

It's not true that they only have two pay stations at DCA unless I've drastically altered my memory of it. Two main sides to the lines, but they split up into more cashiers/order-takers.

Now over at DCA when they did all of the Park over, they put in the BIGGEST Starbucks. Tons and tons of seating. And that was 2012.

And they absolutely gutted the area to do so. They took out the train cars that so many loved so much. They changed it entirely.

We can't have it all ways. It can't stay basically the same AND change to everyone's satisfaction.

I think you misunderstand my post or just weren't paying attention... I am not complaining about Starbucks being there. I am complaining about not having a table to sit at.

Also I never said I am not going in there again, that was another poster. I posed a simple question as to why they took away the tables. Please read carefully before arguing with the wrong people.

. . . And anyway, to remove the seats does not mean more people will buy coffee, it means LESS people will buy coffee, because they can't find anywhere to sit and relax.

1) With the mind control that Starbucks has on customers, I seriously doubt this.
2) Will you say that with little chance of a seat, you will give up Starbucks?
3) If so, I doubt many others would feel the same way.
4) Look at all the inquires, even questions about using SB Rewards & Gift Cards.
5) As for me, give me a cup of Folgers or Duncan's and I am a happy camper.

* Duncan's is made by Folgers, with a slight roasting difference.

No I didn't misunderstand.

You said they took the seats out "for no reason". I simply said there is a reason, and maybe a good one, and we just don't know what it is.

You are implying that you won't be going to Starbucks because there is no place to sit. You are the one we've been discussing (if you like to call it arguing, fine) this with about the seating, no?

So I said, not to worry, now that it is Starbucks, I'll be going there plenty to "take your place" so to speak, whereas I didn't before.

They'll be fine, and probably have more revenue than before, is my point since this is how this all started.

How is that misunderstanding?

I love hanging out in Starbucks and I don't drink coffee. I'm a tea person.

Friends who like plain coffee tell me that their blonde roast is mild and pretty good. I couldn't say but DH doesn't like fancy coffees and he likes the blonde roast.

I don't get why there's no seating. I have never seen a SB without seating. Even the small location in Universal Studios has a few tables.

I drink coffee all summer long. If it's hot, I drink ice coffee. In all the years we have gone to Disney, I have never gotten a cup of coffee and "sat down" to drink it. It has always been on the run - because it's Disney and I've got places to go and people to see.
