Hi everyone!

We are going on the Wish in December of this year, and this will be our first DCL cruise. Is it better to stay on starboard or port?

Depends on the cruise for me. I believe Fireworks are off the starboard side if I remember correctly but if I was going to a place like Alaska I'd want to be more strategic so I can see more

No real difference except at Castaway Cay since they usually back in and the port side gives you a view of the pier and all the activity.

As to the fireworks, they ask that you not be on the veranda when they are shot off and the show is much better when viewed from the upper decks by the pools anyway.

I pretty much always choose starboard. I like the view at Castaway the best (the beach and water) But as long as you're on the ship you're golden! :)

This to both.

Many people will say Starboard for the cultivated side of Castaway, BUT... The do not always back in - if they need to do drills from the Port side or there is something on Starboard side that needs to be done they will go in bow first. And personally I prefer the more natural side that you're more likely to get on Port. Plus, I'm not going to be sitting on my veranda when we're at Castaway...I'm going to be on the island, so the view doesn't really matter from the veranda.

Ah, but you're looking back in your Port Side picture. If you look straight out, you get to see the undeveloped side of the island which is gorgeous.
haha I had to google for a pic cause I'm at work and picked that one fast.

I don't really care, honestly. When we're at sea it's all the same to me, when we're at port I'm usually getting off the boat anyway (or exploring a mostly empty ship, not in my room).

With Disney, Alaska is out and back - what Port sees going up, Starboard will see coming down. And the other way round.
