So for those of you with recent experience in registering for runDisney events in Anaheim, if I try to log in to register first thing the day registration opens to the general public, will I be able to get in? Or am I looking at a scenario where it's going to sell out in minutes as opposed to hours?

Just echoing what others said, I'd wait until next Tues. I did it w/ Avengers and didn't have any problems getting into the races. I did make sure I had my card ready and was online on a desktop and my ipad(just in case) and was able to get both. I'm doing the same next week ~ desktop, ipad and b/c it's SW my itouch as a plan C, and I'll be the sites pre 9am to make sure.

Me too! W&D-Avengers and Dopey-Rebel Challenge! (Hello frequent flier miles!)

I've run all of the races that runDisney offers (most of them more than once) and I am maintaining a perfect attendance for the Wine & Dine Half. (It is a favorite.)

Yay! Congrats on Legacy for W&D! I'm super excited for that one and running under the Osbourne Lights. It looks like it'll be a fun weekend, and my 1st X-mas in WDW. I hear you on frequent flier miles ~ just booked Avengers on points so that makes it a little easier. Now waiting for SW to open and can book those.

A bit of stress until we all have our registration, huh? ;)

Yes! The suspense is killing me now! :faint:

That's a great idea logging in on multiple devices. I'll be at work so I won't be able to but I think everything will go smoothly. wishful thinking! :genie:

Which airline or credit card do you both use to get frequent flier miles? I'd like to start accruing them but I'm not sure of the best way to go about it. I live in the bay area so the 5-7 hour drive is becoming tiresome.:car:

I just had a major freak out moment! The friend of mine who usually helps me register on AP days just started her new job in DC this week and is going to be running around the Capitol all day tomorrow and isn't sure she'll even have time to get herself registered, let alone me! Considering I'm working with no access to a computer on the 10th that would mean no Star Wars Half for me. But I think we got it figured out. I'm going to have my close-to-dead laptop ready to go tomorrow and even enlisted the help of my roommate who has a perfectly running laptop. I should be able to get it!

Great idea for some of you all getting flier miles! Not something I ever think about since I refuse to get on a plane unless absolutely necessary. I have to go to a wedding in Colorado in August and then for W&D next year I obviously have to get on a plane, but I'm terrified as *bleep* to do it. Gotta get in to see a Dr. and get me some Ativan or something or this will be a nightmare. I don't need to go to the ER with massive panic attacks again.

My substitute is my Disney Visa! Earn some rewards points for all of my running.

This will be my first half marathon. I've only done 2 5Ks before. 1 mud run and the 5K on Castaway Cay. I'm so excited for this one! It's time to get off the couch and training! I'm a DVC member, so planning to register tomorrow. Does anyone know if I can register my friend running with me too (through the DVC site)?

Well, my friends that were going to race didn't like the price. So we may not go... But, I am wondering if I can sign my DS6 up for a race without an adult running one of the adult runs?

I think he would love it, but the only race that DH and I would attempt right now is the 5k, and Friday morning would be harder than just doing Saturday if we aren't going to support friends doing the half.

You can definitely sign your son up for the kids race without an adult doing one of the bigger races.

Today is the day (part one)! AP and DVC registration opens up in a little bit more than an hour. May the Force be with everyone registering. When you're signed up, just post below with which event(s) you will be running and I will be sure to add you to the list on the first page.

That's the downside to them announcing it so close to the registration date :( I've never had a problem booking only one night at the Disney hotels, which is usually what I do. I'm hoping for a good deal on Paradise Pier and getting a few people with me depending on how fast it books and what my rate ends up being. When they open the dates, I can keep you posted.

Sounds good!

Posted in w.i.s.h. but wanted to add here as well that I'm in for the Rebel Challenge! Yay!! :jumping1:

So excited!!

Well, I am officially in for the Rebel Challenge! I hope everyone else gets in for what they want.

DH and I are in for the Rebel Challenge!

We haven't decided where we want to stay yet but a Disney hotel probably isn't going to happen. We would have to borrow DVC points from our next use year and my brother had wanted to plan a trip using them next summer anyway :rolleyes1

We stayed at the Best Western Park Place last year for the Dumbo Double Dare and thought it was decent but we might want to try another place. I was looking at the Camelot Inn or maybe the Desert Inn and Suites next to Best Western Park Place. I get the feeling that the hotels around there are pretty much all the same though.

Having stayed in DVC properties at Disney World for the last few years I'm used to a certain amount of "comfort" but I'm not at all willing to pay out of pocket for the same luxuries we get with DVC

In for the Rebel Challenge for me - and the Half for DH!
Still want to do the 5k, but DVC didn't have early reg for that - so we play the game again next week and try to get in for that one :)

May the Force be with everyone else!

I'm signed up for the Rebel Challenge and the 5K.

I couldn't say know to all the bling.

71 race miles in eleven days? What have I done?

I'm in for the 10k and my husband is doing the half.

4 year old is doing the 200m dash and 7 year old is doing the 400m dash! YAYYY!!

Wow! I bow down to you! I can't even imagine doing that.

We're neighbors by the way. I grew up in Troy, MI and live in Berkley now.

I told myself that I would never do another half in January with having to train in December in Michigan, but here I am doing the Rebel Challenge :rotfl:
