WE have always stayed in the pool resort view at DLH. We love especially the pool view. If we wanted to save the extra $$$, what would our view most likely be if we downgraded to the standerd view?? Thanks!

Our 1st stay at DLH was a standard view room and it was then the Bonita Tower (waterfalls out in front) and it overlooked the parking lot. It was definitely an uninspiring view, but it was still the DLH and how often do you really look out the window? Our 2 following stays were in the Dreams Tower with a pool view. Loved the pool view. But if the money saved was worth it, I'd be okay to book a city view room again.

The last one-night trip we took was booked standard. We got a room in the Magic Tower on the lowest floor with hotel rooms and it looked out onto the pool. It was actually quite a nice view.

Same thing here. On the 4 times we have stayed at the DLH we always booked the standard room. Call us lucky, they upgraded us to the pool view (every time), I'm guessing because it was either september or october (low season).

Hoping it happens this time.................:wizard:

I usually get parking lot views, too! If I'm going to have a parking lot view, I would *much* rather have it in the Magic (lobby) tower than the Wonder tower. Best of all is Dreams, but they don't have too many standard rooms there so you're more likely to get one of the other towers.

If you have a standard room in Wonder, try to get it on the pool side rather than the parking lot side. Those standard rooms just have a low or blocked view, too.

If you get a parking lot view in Magic, at least you can see the fireworks!

ONe time our standard view was the parking lot over looking the entrance to the hotel. This was actually nice as it was mostly green with trees and then the big parking structure in the background BUT of to the right you could see Disneyland and we had an awesome view of the fireworks.
The other standard view I had was on the fourth floor of the Sieera tower overlooking the rook of Hook's Point Restaurant but you could also see the pool fine as well as loads of gardens and greenery.

Our 1 night spent at the DLH was a standard view room and we had a lovely view of the pool! Of our 3 one night stays at each of the resort hotels that view was the best!

DH would be sooooo dissapointed with a parking lot view. He would much rather spend the money and have a pool view. I'm the cherap one!! We're there Nov 18-23 so we may have problems getting upgraded.

We are in a standard view room right now and it is great. We are 6th floor dreams tower overlooking DTD and cansee the thre mountians of DL.
I don't see how it's a standard view, but I'm not going to complain!

Lucky you! That isn't a standard view--it's actually one of the pricier views!

I have done a standard view at the DLH several times. The first time we got the parking lot view in the Bonita (now called Wonder). It was not a great view. Next time we got that same tower but on the other side and we had a view of the wedding pavillion, DL, some mountains and Downtown L.A. Very cool view. We were pretty high up which was also nice. Next time we were on that same side, but lower and could hear the fountains when we had the window open, again, a very nice view. The next two times we were in the Sierra (Dreams) Tower. Both times we were on the second floor, once facing the pool (a bit noisy but not bad as long as the window was closed) the next time facing DTD. From that one, we could actually see some of the fireworks. And last but not least, we have been in the Magic Tower facing the Mickey statue and parking lot with a very good view of the fireworks. The other side of that tower is the only one I have not been in personally, but my brother was and from his room I could see the pool and the Wonder Tower. So I'd call that side, on any floor another good one to get.

So out of all those times, the only "bad" view we had was that first one facing the parking lot. It was our first trip so I didn't care!

When you check in, ask where they are putting you. If they say the backside of the Wonder, ask nicely to be moved to any other side. Because I have been in all those towers and there are what, like six sides total, and only one of them is what I'd call a bad view. The rest you may not see a lot, but you'll see something besides a parking lot. Your odds are good of getting something decent.

And for the record, the Wonder Tower (Bonita) is my favorite tower if you can get he side facing the Koi Pond. I love walking through those fountains at night! And I may be wrong, but I want to say that whole tower is standard view rooms.
