Hi All,

Are their stairwells guests can use to get to and from their rooms at the Paradise Pier hotel? I've heard the elevators can be very slow.

yes there are but I can't remember where they are......the elevators were slow but not that slow, we were on the 9th floor, we waited. :) Make sure you ride in the glass elevator, it's neat.

thanks for the info! I just switched my reservation from the DLH to PP - I'm thinking I'll request a room on one of the lower levels.

They are super hidden. Go past the fitness center on floor 2 then down the end of the hall to the left of the fitness center and through the door.

We were there mid-December last year. At no time during our 5 days there did we experience any elevator probs! But I have to say, we never stayed at the parks until closing. We watched the fireworks each night from the pool area~the music was even piped in!

We were there at the beginning if December and I can absolutely vouch for the long waits for the elevators. We did stay until park closing though.

I'm sure I will stay until closing each night. Do the stores on Main street stay open past closing? What about the stores and what not in Downtown Disney? Maybe I should get in the habit of shopping for a while before heading back to the hotel!

If going *back* to your room, just use the glass elevator! I don't much care for looking out at the sights (or as my brain thinks of them, the heights), so I turn my back to the view and enjoy the speedy ride.

If you end up on a floor where there's a button to call the glass elevator, use it going down, too! I think there are buttons on the concierge floors, which we've stayed on twice (though we've never had concierge! they just put us there), so definitely check it out when you have the time, to see if you can call the elevator to your floor.

But just using it to go BACK to your room helps enough!

Stayed there over a week ago and at no time we had any issues with the elevators. We were on the 12th floor.

Just back from a 5 night stay! Elevators were fine! No problem at all! We were on the 14th floor park view concierge. Used the glass one the most, but didn't see anyone waiting long. Also hotel was not too busy so that may make a difference. I will post a trip report as soon as I get caught up on mail, laundry etc... concierge was awesome!!!

We stayed there a couple of months ago and didn't have any problems with slow elevators. :confused3

I think the major complaint is not that the elevators are slow, but that there can be long lines to get on them at park closing, which was my experience. It's compounded by the Cadillac sized strollers that take up a significant portion of the elevators. We opted to walk up 9 flights of stairs rather than wait in line for 20 minutes.
