We've stayed at a few different locations around SSR.
We were only able to get a DTD view once. The view was of the back end of DTD towards Cirque Soliel, and we were located on the first floor. Not terrific, but OK.
I learned to request an upper floor so that my view is unobstructed by the shrubbery. I like to ask for pool/lake views if DTD is sold out. I actually like being in the Paddock area. The walk across the bridge to the main pool area is not far and very enjoyable....especially early in the morning. Our last few rooms have overlooked this area and it's just wonderful! Even got to watch some hot air balloons from my balcony last year.
