We are "going home" for the 1st time in May and would like to have a view overlooking the water and downtown disney. Can some of you experts tell me what building or section we need to request? If it matters, we will be staying in a 2 bedroom villa.

Regards,
Scott

For a Downtown Disney view you need to request Congress Park. We stayed there last time and had a stunning view, especially at night. :cloud9:

I agree. Congress Park has a great view of downtown Disney. We loved it.

Ditto. Definitely Congress Park AND you have a BEAUTIFUL view of DTD from your quiet pool at nighttime.

In addition, it's only about a 7 minute walk to the Marketplace in Downtown Disney, which is also great because you can catch a bus to ANY WDW resort from here. ;)

we've booked our fist trip to SSR this October. How far of a walk is it from Congress Park area to the main swimming pool, main lobby and Artisan's Cafe ?
I'm trying to decide if I'm better off at Paddock since its closer to the main pool and food or if the view at Congress is worth the extra walk ?

It took us about maybe 7-8 minutes to walk from our room to the main building. Some people complain that it's too far, but we thought nothing of it. Considering how far you walk during a day in one of the parks this shouldn't be a big deal. ;)

Hope that helps, :)

I agree....Congress park. Last weekend, I got the Springs. It also had a great view of the lake. It was a very nice view as well. Congress park is like being on :cloud9: . It is worth the short walk!

Keep in mind that once SSR is complete, you'll have a 1 in 4 shot (depending on occupancy) of getting this location. Any update on this becoming a booking category?
