SSR Studio Waitlisted for December 28, 29, 30

Howdy,

I am a little stressed. I could kick myself but too late for that. We decided today that we wanted to take our trip to SSR (studio) for December 23rd - December 31st (Departure on the 31st.) Well....we got the 23rd through the 27th and waitlisted for the nights of 28th, 29th, and 30th. I have never been waitlisted and I know it is my own fault. Any advice for a waitlisted rookie?

Do I take a chance? Do I cash book the remaining days? They have those openings ofcourse. If I do cash book the dates will we have to move room part way through the stay? Or do we get to keep the same room? What is the likeliness I will get the last 3 nights I need?

Any of you had experience being waitlisted?

My advice is to call MS and see if you can book the missing nights for cash. If lucky, you will get the 25% member cash discount. If your waitlist works, then you can cancel the cash reservations. If not, you have a place to stay and you won't have to move.

As long as MS books the cash nights you will not have to move. MS will link the reservations for you and it will appear to the resort as one continuous reservation. Housekeeping follows the DVC schedule.

Another thought for you -

call MS every so often and see if any of the missing nights are available. If yes, then book it (them) and change the waitlist. SInce you only want 3 more nights in a studio at SSR, you won't need more than 2 waitlists to cover the stay if you book a night in the middle.

Remember to cancel the cash night reservation for anything that you are able to book that way.

THe shorter the waitlist, the better the chancwe of it working.

Also in your favor is that SSR is large. More opportunity for people to change their mind and free u rooms for you.

Great news!!! I took your advice and called to get my cash ressie and she checked and the 28th just opened for a point ressie. So I booked it and then did a cash ressie for the 29th and 30th. The CM was excellent in helping and she said to call back every day to check on the other days. How exciting!!!!!
