Happy Belated Birthday, Stacy!

This brings the total to three for people I know with that birthday.

We had an interesting wake-up call this morning. We are only about 50 miles from the epicenter of the earthquake that happened. Ken and I both sat up in the bed and said "Earthquake!" It was one of the longest quakes I remember...about 30 seconds. We are fine, and as far as we know there is no damage to our house.

MaryJ - funny you should mention that - I was just hearing about it this morning on the news and it was supposed to be felt as far as here in Westland Michigan! I, myself, did not feel it but I think the dog sensed something because she jumped off my bed and started barking early this morning - not really like her so I pulled myself out of bed and let her out. Weird but I'm glad you're all okay there. I also heard that Evansville is one area besides Calif that has the most and highest magnitude earthquakes?

Yes indeed. I am a highly trained emergency responder :firefight I slept right through it!

Glad you are all okay down south Mary!

Pretty scary Mary. Glad to hear you guys are fine.

And Steve it's a great feeling knowing we can count on you :lmao:

I'm taking a break from that tonight but will be back on that little project this weekend!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had to bring my car in for service so since it was such a great weather day here we all dropped off my car and walked across the way to the shopping center. We had dinner at a great Noodle place we like to go to and did some shopping and stopped for ice cream on the way home.
This weekend my parents are taking us out for dinner for my birthday and our anniversary.

Um where's my room :dance3: LOL

Can't wait to see the photos!

We are actually working on our house this weekend as well - and gladly it is NOT because of the 2nd set of severe storms in 9 days. We have new living room furniture coming tomorrow (boo Matt has to work so I have to deal alone) and we think now we are going to get the zero VOC paint from Lowes rather than spend $$$ on Benjamin Moore (this is what I looked like when I found out the price :scared1: ).

My sister mentioned the earthquake - glad to hear everyone is good!

Wow, Mary, I was thinking about you all day and just came here to post to see if you were all okay. I knew it was down by you based on the map they were posting on the news this morning.

I couldn't believe that they said it was felt way up in Milwaukee. We didn't feel a thing.

I didn't think that earthquakes hit in this area. It sounds like this isn't the first one you've been through?

Hope tonight is quieter.

Mary - glad you and Ken are ok.

We have a service center in Owensboro (owensboogy) KY and they got a pretty good shake too!
Supposedly it was felt in our area - Not me I was in a very heavy sleep.

We got a new puppy this past Sunday from the APL. He is a border collie lab mix and approx 14 weeks. HE is amazing. I had ordered a crate and it did not come in until yesterday. My thinking was he is not so big yet we could leave him in the kitchen and gate it off - WRONG the first day he jumped the gate. 2nd day we added chairs in front of the gate and he moved them.... He has not had any accidents in the house since the first night. I got a potty trained stray!!!!!! Tonight we were working in the yard and he just laid there watching us. I will post pics later.

HAPPY WEEKEND everyone

My house is your house! ( I was going to type it in spanish but wasn't sure of the correct spelling so I didn't)
Well the Mickey Mouse room will be straightened out a little more this weekend. The highlights of the room are that the walls are Mickey Mouse pants Red below the chair rail, black chair rail and Main Street Lights yellow on top. We have a Mickey phone from umpteen years ago that is going in that room and I got 2 great lamps from Disney online for the room. The daybed and trundle were delivered on Wednesday and I have sheets and a comforter now I just need to get the Mattress'. It's looking great. Let me get it straightened up a bit and then I'll post a couple of pics!:thumbsup2

MaryJ - I didn't hear about the earthquake till I read your post (missed the news today). I remember many moons ago when we had an earthquake in NY and the noise of my closet sliding doors rattling woke me up and I thought it was the dog leaning up against them and was scratching herself so when I looked over to tell her to stop there was nothing there.

Thanks all for the birthday wishes! Get your typing hand ready since Sunday is our 17th wedding Anniversary!
(I kept the 2 dates close to make it easier for Jeff)

No, this is not the first and won't be the last. There is actually a large fault line near here. It's just not as active as the ones in CA. The last one I remember was in 2003, but I think there might have been another one since then. I know there was an earthquake when I was driving one time and I never even felt it. We had an aftershock yesterday around 10:40 but I didn't feel it. I was on an outdoor field trip with the preschool I work for at the time. I think that you don't notice the tremors so much when you're outside, because no one that was with us felt it either.

Congratulations on the new addition, Erin. :dogdance:

Walker has been asking for a dog. I'm not sure. Our dog was so good, I'm afraid we'd never be able to match his temperment. We'll see, maybe in time. When I say no, he says how about a bird. Nope, too messy. Then he asks for a ferret. Nope, too smelly. Why can't he be content with his frogs and snake? I am as I don't have to do anything with them. ;)

Mary, I had no idea earthquakes were that common in your area. I'm glad your alright.

HAPPY WEEKEND everyone

Aren't new puppys fun. We always had dogs in our house from the time we moved to upstate NY from Yonkers. We never had full breds just mutts from the pound and they were the best!!
We mentioned getting a dog since we have the new place but I don't know just yet if it will actually happen since we already have 2 cats.
There do seem to be alot of peopl in our neighborhood with dogs 'cause someone is always out taking their dag for a walk. There is one guy I usually see early in the morning that has a Newfoundland and a St Bernard. While they are both adorable the St bernard just cracks me up and I just want to give him a hug and start playing with him. He usaully has a glove in his mouth when he takes his walk. It's just to funny.

Morning everyone. :surfweb:

Happy Monday! :upsidedow

Tomorrow is the BIG day! We pick up the boat :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I am really looking foward to filling that 39 gal gas tank :scared1: NOT

I hope everyone here is doing well. Coleen and I have been doing some spring yard work and general outside sprucing up! We are having "spring weather" here. The last few years it seems to have gone from cool to HOT and skipped spring.

Also looking forwar to getting the last of our CJ's Cant wait to see all the wonderful pages you all have done:love:

Have a great Tuesday!

Squid

Steve you must be so excited to get the boat. Ok, filling the gas tank would make me sick, but think of all the fun you will have.

We've had some great spring weather here. John even rode his motorcycle to work today. With gas prices the way they are I'm thinking he might ride it quite often to work instead of taking his truck.
