I'm still here. Ken and I are heading to MO tomorrow for Dana's senior art show. Can't believe she will be graduating next month!

We also got a letter in today from the university inviting us to their honor's banquet in two weeks. Dana will be receiving the distinguished student award for Graphic Design. Guess we'll be making another trip. Can't tell her though since it's a big secret. She has no idea that she is receiving this award. Good thing she doesn't post here!

Spring is slowly making it's way here. The trees are budding and the daffodil's are blooming! We've had way too much rain though!

How is Boy Scouts going for Nick? What rank is he now?

Nick is still enjoying it very much. He is 1st class rank right now but on the cuspid of getting his Star rank.

Last week at the Court of Honors we held the Order of the Arrow elections and did our secret votes for the boys and adults. Nick was eligable this year to be voted in and Both Jeff and I as adult leaders (plus 2 other leaders)
.
Well..........Nick doesn't know it but he did get voted by his peers to the Order of the Arrow. He won't know until the "calling out" ceremony at the Spring Camporee which is the weekend of May 16th. We will get our "official" notification from BSA by mail but since Jeff was the one who had to give the parent contact information for the boys that were elected we knew in advance.
I'm waiting to see if either Jeff or myself gets "called out" at the camporee. That would be a hoot.

Sorry I have been MIA but Scouts and yardwork kept us busy. Nick had to work the church dinner on saturday and friends came over to see the house and take Nick old bathroom mirror to put in their daughters room and sunday we started our marathon leaf raking session. We had a TON of leaves in the back yard and hauled of about 50 wheelbarrels full just from the back yard alone. Now we need to start the front yard...Yuck.

Mary congrats to Dana!

Stacy congrats to Nick !

WHEN YOU CAN TELL THEM that is:rotfl2:

Mary - that is wonderful about Dana!!!! Congratulations to her :)

Stacy - awesome for Nick! I'm crossing my fingers you or Jeff gets called out as well :wizard:

We're heading to Iowa this weekend for some family time... now if American could just get their dang planes in the air to fly us home we'd be set. :rotfl:

Keeping my fingers crossed you can make it home and back without any major delays.

Mary - That's great news about Dana. I bet you were smiling ear to ear when you got the news.

Congratulations to Dana. :cheer2:

Congratulations to Nick. :cheer2: I bet he'll have fun at that induction as well as his actual earning of the award. I hear it's rather grueling to get through that long, long day of service project - at least around here.

Two families with secrets kept from their kids. I would have certainly ruined their surprise by now - just not thinking. I hope you can all keep it up.

Julie, have a fun weekend. Worse case is you have to spend some more time than anticipated or drive home. :headache:

Hi everyone! Doc finally put up the original thread (in parts) on the trip reports board. I went in and edited Julie's first post with all the links.

Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy!

Well we did make it to Iowa - at 4 am Saturday after American delayed our flight on a 757 (read not cancelled due to their inability to verify the safety of the plane) from a 6:25 pm departure to a 9:55 pm departure. So much fun!

I'll try to update later in the week after we have both had more sleep with a few photos :thumbsup2

I was wondering why I haven't seen the original thread I subscribed to updated in ages. If it wasn't for Doc, I would have never found you all (maybe that's what you intended - who knows :lmao: )

Hi Sandy - nope, not our intent.. just seems that our old thread was never going to come back but it finally did.

:wave2: Hi Sandy & Cheryl. Glad to see you found us!

Welcome Home Cheryl & Sandy!:wave2:

Looks like we have new digs to hang out at.:cool2:

Welcome back, Sandy & Cheryl. :cheer2:

The flowers are starting to bloom here :flower1: The sun is shining! :sunny: It's starting to feel like spring!!! :dance3:

Now go back to fixing up our room...

I'm taking a break from that tonight but will be back on that little project this weekend!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had to bring my car in for service so since it was such a great weather day here we all dropped off my car and walked across the way to the shopping center. We had dinner at a great Noodle place we like to go to and did some shopping and stopped for ice cream on the way home.
This weekend my parents are taking us out for dinner for my birthday and our anniversary.
