Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

I posted earlier today, but it was gone after I submitted. :confused3

As I was saying, It is so cool that Cindy not only remembered Parker, but his name, too! That is the magic no one but Disney has....

Yeah, GF feels too stuffy to me, too. I know some who love it though. We stayed at Hyatt Grand Cypress concierge as guests of Jim's uncle on our first trip. We weren't dressed in rags, but not sporting Chanel, either. Anyway, we got a few "looks" in the lounge the first couple of days, and then they saw how the attendant treated the uncle like family because of frequent stays and suddenly we belonged. don't like it.

Dan, your dive got even better! I am amazed at the size of the turtles and rays!!! So cool you got to stay a little longer, sorry it freaked you out!

Of course the Princesses were smitten with Parker! He is such a charming little prince, after all! And how cool is it that Cinderella not only remembered Parker but his name as well. That is so neat.

Your dive and SNUBA pictures are amazing. Not nice getting left down below, but kinda funny in hindsight....and knowing it all turned out well. :thumbsup2

Boy, I go on a cruise and there are 2 updates. I can't believe that Cinderella knew Parker from the day before! How magical! Love the snorkeling pictures. We were supposed to go on a snorkel adventure while in the Bahama's and decided to cancel it last minute. There is always next year on my next cruise!

Love the updates!

I'm with you on GF. It's nice but I wouldn't want to stay there. It's too stuffy for me and I'd be afraid of breaking something or making too much noise. If I'm going to stay anywhere on the monorail line, it'll be the Poly!

Amazing that Cinderella remembered Parker!

Just checking inDan !!! GF is toooooo swanky for my crew !!!:rotfl2:Judy would be paranoid that Kyle would break something !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

So glad you had a fun dinner with all the Cindy characters at PF! Some of the looks they get on their faces just crack me up!
they really played there roll perfectly.

WOW, Dan, that's pretty sad they the CMs themselves add to the airs put up at the GF. I've only stayed at the Poly and was treated very well, with not even a hint of that nonsense, but I can see how it'd be a total turn off! So sorry that happened to you- there's no excuse for dirty looks.
i have had great experiences with the poly as well with there CM's more laid back...but something about the CM's at GF they think they are disney elite for just working there.
:sad2:

Dan, I love the photos of Parker talking with Cinderella. They are priceless. :goodvibes

My husband will NOT even walk into the Grand Floridian. We went with the kids and my mom when it was still new, and our youngest was crying because he was overtired and not feeling well; we got the dirtiest looks when we tried to calm him down from both guests and staff. I too find it very snooty and WAY OVERPRICED.
its funny how one bad experience will do that to you...and it seems like a good amount of the comments have had something to say about the GF

Wow! What a great day you had with your brother-in-law and seeing the turtle and the stingray (although they should not have laughed at you ). You got a great price and it looks like it was all well worth it (even at the original price).
thats a good thing about our family is we can usually joke around with each other pretty well.

your right even full price it would be a once in a life time thing, but im always about the discount.
:thumbsup2

what a fantastic experience with SNUBA!!!!
it was awesome and something i woud love to do again.
And Candi always looks fabulous. I love her orange dress! What a great color on her, and man, I am so jealous of her figure! :rolleyes1
im a fan of her figure as well.
::yes::
Parker is such a hit with those princesses. I love the interaction, and his smile! :cutie:

hope he doesnt lose to much of that little boy charm and will want to go to them when we visit next trip as well.

Don't worry about snootiyness. Do what I do, don't even pay attention to those around you. :rotfl: I would love to stay at GF, and will someday. If you have the money to spend there, then you belong there.;)
well said well said, maybe in the distant future we will stay there, but you can be sure im gonna throw out a canon ball when i jump i the pool, because that is just how i roll....even if it is in our 50's when we have the money to stay there.

How cool that is that Cinderella remembered Parker :goodvibes

We ate at the same restaurant and they tried to sit us at very last table, no lie, right next to the door of the kitchen

We walked past about 15 empty tables.

I was not having that. There was no one at any of other tables

When we said...we want to sit closer, they said they are reserved.

I said oh yeah, well we had reservation too and I am not sitting all the way back there. We had my best friend daughter with us for her very first trip to Disney and that is not the experience that she deserved:cutie:

After some arguing with the rudest hostess ever, we got the manager and even she said we couldn't sit at one of the tables in the middle as someone was sitting there.

I opened my big mouth and said, Really, what are they your imaginary guests?

Couldn't help myself. She sighed and said fine, you can sit there.

We were down as at being at the fort and on the free dining plan, so according to their status, that makes you low class and not worthy of a closer table :confused3

and I heard this, at another restaurant, being discussed by servers and managers :headache:

anywho, I don't think I ever stay there.
thats funny because the first year they offered the free dinning and we were there, we actually had a server tell us that they knew who "paid" for the dinning plan and who qualified for the "free" dinning plan...and he told us straight to our face, that you get the service you pay for.

we were shocked, and had to sort of laugh it off, because we couldnt believe he just said that to us.

thats why i think it is good now that they dont automatically get a tip included, while it was nice on the free one not having to pay more for a tip, it does seem like you get a little better service since they are actually working for a tip now.

i can really see them seating you back there for that reason as well...although the food was pretty decent there, not sure if we will eat at that one again.

Oh, those cupcakes at CR looked so good!!!

Your story at being left down at the bottom by yourself was hilarious..lol
they were awesome, and i would eat them again and again.

How wonderful of Cinderella to remember Parker but then again who wouldn't?

Our Park Fare experience did not include Aurora. :confused3 YOur steps looked a bit more fun than the ones we had.
that was the first time i have ever meet them so it was a great first time for us...

I never quite feel " at home" at GF. Nobody , especially staff should make you feel like you are not worthy of staying at the GF. :sad2:
i wonder if anyone from disney reads these and actually will talk to the staff about it....there has been a few times i wanted to write them and tell them about it, but never did.

SNUBA? That looks awesome. You were able to get a great experience at a great price. :thumbsup2
being a pool lady im surprise you are not aware of this.

all of the resorts had classes in there pools and also had training you could do out in the water of the beach as well.

I posted earlier today, but it was gone after I submitted. :confused3

As I was saying, It is so cool that Cindy not only remembered Parker, but his name, too! That is the magic no one but Disney has....
and some people dont get why we go back so often.
:sad2:

very true, i know some love it and im all for it, i dont want to honk anyone off, just my opinion...that is very true, how you can be treated and then if you know someone how they see you then.

Of course the Princesses were smitten with Parker! He is such a charming little prince, after all! And how cool is it that Cinderella not only remembered Parker but his name as well. That is so neat.
disney magic at its finest.
:cloud9:

i knew i was safe, but it was just sorta freaked me out momentarily when it happened, but it did leave me with a good story.

i waited as long as i could for you to get back but just had to post an update.
:thumbsup2

good reason to do it next time, and if you can do the snuba that is awesome as well, easier to breath, and see things, and a great experience,

the poly would be my first choice as well, i like the contemporary but it seems to busy for me with all the traffic in the main building...the poly doesnt seem like it would be bad with most of the buildings being spread out ont eh grounds.

totallly agree about GF!
:thumbsup2

Just checking inDan !!! GF is toooooo swanky for my crew !!!:rotfl2:Judy would be paranoid that Kyle would break something !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
nonsense rosie, i can see you fitting right in when you pull up in your limo.
:thumbsup2

That is so adorable that she remembered Parker (and a bit amazing to me that it was actually the same Cindy). We had a hoot at Park Fare ourselves though for me, for all that the GF purports itself to be, that room needs a major remodel to live up to the hype.

Now, that said I can honestly say we've never had any issues, at any of the resorts on the snobby or snooty side. I've had service issues of different sorts at some but they weren't related to any kind of "class" feeling. I didn't find our service at Park Fare to be remotely exceptional, she seemed harried and tired to me (and again, not very GF like). I could stay at the GF but don't love that room decor enough to justify the prices, places I'd vastly prefer to stay first. But I wouldn't turn it down, nor would Jeff though it wouldn't be his top choice either.

oh i would turn down a stay there either, but like yo usaid not sure the price they charge can make up for anything extra you get...

update coming soon

Anniversary update...

5 years ago today at this time i was marrying my lovely wife.

It seems so long ago, yet so recent...i guess that means we have had a great five years, when it flys by because you are having fun, and it seems like forever ago because you have been able to experience so many wonderful memorys with the person who you love the most in life.

We have so many wonderful memories we have shared with each other that only we know about and so many we have shared with loved ones that mean the world to us.

Here is a little look back on that september day.

i dont have the pics of the actual ceremony but i have some others to share.

formal shots after the ceremony.

we had a huge hall, it seated about 400 people, and we had our own private room up in the second floor that the wedding party was able to relaxe before the dinner started.

here is a picture of hte cake and a nice cake topper that we left on the table because it was to heavy for the top.

That was so sweet Dan! You have a beautiful bride.Happy Anniversary!

:lmao: OMGosh Dan!! Those pictures are great!! My favs are towards the end, the work glasses were a freaking hoot!! Y'all have such a great sense of humor, I hope everyone got a kick out of that.

I've said it already, but I'll say it here too. Happy Anniversary to the sweetest couple I've never met. :goodvibes :lovestruc

By the way....the best study I've found for marriages is The Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. Biblically based and sooo simple to understand and do. Then again God's plan is usally pretty simple for us. :goodvibes Every marriage I've ever known benefits from this book, if you get a chance to see the videos allllll the better, this video is hilarious! And sooo good!
Again, Happy Anniversary Dan and Candi. :lovestruc

Happy Anniversary to you Both :wizard:

Wedding pics were great and loved the ones at the end. Caution tape cracked me up :rotfl2:

I loved the pictures on the wall at your receptions.....they were so pretty :goodvibes

Hi Dan! So much to comment on. I haven't been on the DIS for like 2 months. We had a hurricane at the end of August and lost power for 5 days. We started school and we got a new puppy.

First congrats on your princess. Glad to hear that Candi's grandpa is doing a little better and got to come home. Love the updates.
