Square paper punch

I'm looking for a punch that would let me put a window in an envelope.

I want to take a long skinny envelope (one of the vertical ones, not a horizontal one) and put a 1 x 1 square hole in it. I want a picture on an invitation to show through the hole.

Do they make a punch that large? It would also need to be a long punch since I have to worry about the flap on the envelope.

Did that make any sense???

For as long as I have been scrapping I just learned to make a window using the friskers 12 inch cutter. I wish I could explain it to you. It is so simple when someone shows you.
Let me see if I can give you an idea and then you can practice. You'd have to unglue your envelope first but you can cut a window any size and any where using this method.

Place your paper all the way down to the bottom or all the way up to the top. Sink your blade in where you want the window to start. Make a note what measurement the little arrows on the sides of the blade are point to. Move the blade to the point you want it to stop and again make a note of where the arrows stops. Move your paper over the width you want the window to be and sink the blade into the exact spot and cut the same distance using the arrows on the side to tell you where to stop and start. Now turn your paper sideways and connect the lines. The arrow will tell you exactly where the blade is cutting.

Every time you learn a new trick it opens up a whole new area of things you can do. I hope this helps. If not for this project maybe for your next.

There is such a thing as a 1 inch punch, because I used one in a class once. Unfortunately, I don't know the brand or who the teacher was. I also don't remember if it had a long handle or not. Good luck to you. Maybe ask at Michaels or another craft store?

Awhile back CM had a gift purchase that had I think a small 1 inch and maybe 11/2 inch punch. It is just like their standard one. But you had to spend a certain amount to get it. Maybe check ebay and see if you can find it on there.
