**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

:confused3So what makes you guys think that loophole guy is the one who has taken over Locke's body?

I didn't catch that.:confused3

because when Locke and Ben entered the statue Jacob said something like "looks like you found your loophole" to Locke (LL = loophole Locke.)

In the 1st scene Jacob and blackshirt loophole guy discuss finding a loophole.

Jacob recognized Locke (LL) as blackshirt loophole guy.

ahhh I see! That totally went over my head!

Now I'm starting to wonder how many of those dead people who came back to life to talk to Losties on the island were doing it for Dark Man (Jacob's enemy - what he's being called on other websites) or doing it for Jacob?????

Christian for example. Maybe that was Dark Man and not Jacob talking to Locke. He too told Locke he had to die, didn't he? Right before he pushed the wheel?? Or am I remembering wrong?

Why would Locke have to die other than the Dark Man wanting to trick Ben and have him kill Jacob?

His death is not why the Oceanic 6 came back. They each came back for their own reasons. :confused3

Some on other websites think that next year will be like episode one, when they first crash, but they will remember everything and re-live those 3 months and get it right! Not sure if I believe that though.

What a terrific show. I really liked the Light vs. Dark aspect of it. At the beginning when the ship is sailing toward the Island (I am assuming it is the Black Rock with Richard on board) and the two men are sitting on the beach they are discussing free will.

One says something like again Again you bring them here. They only fight kill and corrupt. He thinks men have no redeeming qualities. The other responds, It only has to work once, everything else is progress. He believes in men's free will and their ability to do the right thing.

When Jacob went to see all of them in various points in their lives, he touches them all or gives them something. He even tells Ben at the end that he doesn't have to go through with killing him. John even wakes up at his touch and he encourages John to choose to go on. The only bad one was causing Sayid's wife to be hit by the car.

Can't wait for season 6.

I think that Jacob saved Sayid from being it, I didn't think he caused his wife's death.

Good point, I hope that's the case. Of course if the bomb really does prevent the plane crash then so much never actually happens anyway.

We don't know that either Sayid or Juliet has died! We don't know if Jacob is dead either.
The ONLY person that we KNOW is dead is Locke. You know Lost is, the others may not be dead.

Sayid can recover from a bullet wound. Ppl do all the time and he was shot in earlier episodes when trying to save Hurley at the hotel.

If Jacob is some sort of God (or obviously special - he isn't seen by everyone, can go wherever he wants, turned Richard the way he is etc) then maybe stabbing and fire doesn't kill him.

Juliet didn't die falling down that huge hole, and we don't know what happened with the bomb. What ppl said earlier about white meaning good and the fade to white from the bomb, maybe it was just a light like the time travel...
You can't just assume with Lost. You aren't dead until you are shown dead. - and then you aren't always even dead then (christian)

I agree with you. We don't really know that they are dead. I think that the white flash was the time travel thing again and they end up catching up with Sun, Ben, etc. in 2007. Remember Jacob said, "they're coming", just before he "died" and loophole Locke had this angry look on his face........

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but it appears that the statue is of Sobek...Egyptian god of protection, power and fertility (I know there was a lot of discussion that it might be Tawaret, Horus or Inubus). My guess is that once the statue crumbled the women on the island started having fertility problems. Google Sobek for more info.

I'm also wondering if the two at war (Jacob and they guy at the beginning/fake Locke) are Good and Evil or, perhaps, the embodiment of warring Egyptian gods.

If you look at this picture: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/File:Fourtoedreconstructed.jpg it is clearly Sobek.

I agree. The whole light vs dark, good vs evil aspect is very interesting. And the conversation between Jacob and Dark Man seems like a conversation that would happen between God and Satan. Is it possible that Jacob is God and Dark Man is Satan???

I watched Ben and Hurley on The View today and Hurley said tonight we will learn why he went back to the island and where he got the guitar case from and what is in it.

We never did find out what was in the guitar case did we?:confused3

You know what? I don't think it was Jacob's cabin at all - Jacob was living in the 4-toed statue. I think the cabin was where the guy who killed Jacob was being held, and the ash ring was what was keeping him inside. When they saw that the ash ring was broken, Ilana was worried about who/what had escaped.

Very interesting!!!! I never thought of that - great catch.

Sad about Sayid and Juliet. But I don't really think either of their deaths was on a par with Charlie's death (like somebody had posted in a spoiler a while back). Yes, Juliet died very similarly to Charlie - she realized that while she somehow survived that fall down the hole that she was going to die anyway so why not get that bomb to detonate.

The most heart-wrenching part of that whole thing was Sawyer's grief. Such great acting on Josh Hollway's part.:thumbsup2

I don't think Sayid is dead - Juliet perhaps. I'm not a big fan of Juliet, but loved her scenes with Sawyer. I totally agree on what fantastic acting Josh Holloway did - WOW!

Great theory on some of the dead people really on dark man's side. This show DOES make my head hurt! :headache:
What would "getting it right" entail for those on flight 815?

I think so too and I'm thinking he was the one who said save me. Wonder how the ring got broken?

ETA- I think he was captured and held prisoner in that spot and maybe Horus (sp?), who is one of the Egyptian Gods BTW, built that cabin for him.

Also though...I think Christian IS dead too....just like Locke. I think the bad guy from the beginning (loophole guy) actually was Christian, just like he was Locke.

I think so too. And maybe Hurley's friend Dave as well.

I think that the white flash was the time travel thing again and they end up catching up with Sun, Ben, etc. in 2007. Remember Jacob said, "they're coming", just before he "died" and loophole Locke had this angry look on his face........

I'll say it again, I think so too! :rotfl:

Because of that statue I think they are warring Egyptian Gods.

ok, I was one of the people that didn't realize Locke wasn't Locke until the end.

I'm assuming the "fake Locke" is the guy from the very beginning of the episode that was sitting w/Jacob.

HOWEVER, I'm thinking Ben knew this all along. Because in order for the "fake Locke" to have to use the REAL Locke's body......the real Locke would have to be dead. Ben must have known this and that's why he killed him a few episodes back. :confused3:confused3

I don't think Ben knew he was dealing w/fake Locke. When he woke up after being clubbed by Sun and Locke was there he almost crapped a brick. Fake Locke asked Ben about his coming back to life and Ben told him he had never seen the island do that for anyone before.(Which helped build his resentment towards Ben and Jacob because here was this newbie getting so much more than he ever did)

I think Ben killed Locke because when they went back to the island Ben wanted to be the one and only leader but he had to bring Ben back to the island because of the rule that everyone who left had to go back---I don't believe Ben knew what was going to happen.

Was Jacobs cabin actually Rose and Bernards that we seen earlier--It looked like it--But if it was that would mean that Loophole Guy was trapped in it after 1977.

I believe Jacob saved Sayid when his wife died--had he not distracted Sayid both he and his wife would've been hit by the car and killed

Last night my boyfriend turned to me and said "maybe the reason why Alpert wears so much guyliner is because he is Egyptian!" I started laughing and immediately thought of this thread (he doesn't read this either, so that made it just that much funnier.)

I love that theory! It would make perfect sense too.

More thoughts: I really feel bad for Locke - people have been using him his entire life. We've got his dad using him to get a kidney. Ben used him for so many things. And now we find out that Loophole-Guy used him by telling him that he had to die in order to save his friends and the island, when Loophole-Guy only needed Locke's body in order to kill Jacob.

And like beattyfamily posted in her spoiler, Smokey/Alex wasn't really "smokey" - it had to have been Loophole-Guy. That's why Loophole-Guy-Locke disappeared and Alex appeared to tell Ben that he had to do everything Locke said. LGL (Loophole-Guy-Locke) then told Ben that he had to kill Jacob. I guess since the real Locke was really dead, leadership reverted back to the prior leader, which was Ben?

I can't wait to see how they're going to wrap everything up in just one more season - they've given us so many more questions!!

- who is Loophole-Guy? it's kind of obvious that he and Jacob are fighting for control of the island, but why?

- did the Losties really change things when they detonated the bomb, or was it like Miles said - by doing so, were they the ones who caused the incident?

- who is Ilana really? Why was she in a hospital with her face all bandaged? Could it be that she's some kind of Egyptian goddess brought back to life to help Jacob? I don't know anything about mythology.

When Miles said that it all just clicked and I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of that before. This time travel stuff is so confusing :confused3

that was my theory! see previous posts on that (or maybe it is the other thread, I can't keep them straight!)

Let's see if it holds up.
