**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

I have a question....

Some people seem to think that Ben had the list of people from Oceanic 815 because of what happened in the past. If that's the case, if he could know, then how come nobody from Oceanic knew anything when they crashed?

Wouldn't Sayid remember Ben as soon as he heard his name? Same with everyone else. Nobody would have forgotten Ben.

This time travel stuff is messing me up.

No, because the Losties went back in time (they already lived their lives in the 70's). They time traveled BACK.

Ben as a child is in his real time.

mark pellegrino will be playing jacob

"young james meets jacob at his dad's funeral."

imdb now confirms that ellie was indeed young eloise hawking.

In order to protect aaron, kate begins to unravel the lie that sawyer has carefully conceived to protect the group. But when sayid escapes it becomes clear to horace that there is a traitor within dharma and the island's latest arrivals all come under suspicion…

set scoop:

- something goes horribly wrong with the construction of a dharma station.
- a recent shoot might clue us into how marvin candle lost his arm.
- one death happens before the finale and one might occur during.

More spoilers:

1. Big shoot at byodo-in temple: Sun and jin's wedding.
2. Shoot in waikiki featuring a battered or injured locke.
3. Return to the beach camp with the losties... And bernard and rose.
4. Double funeral for sawyer's parents, where young sawyer meets jacob.

Finally!!!!

.

Because 1977 ON THE ISLAND hadn't happened to them yet. Only 1977 in their individual childhoods had happened to them so far. Remember to try and think of the time flow as an individual's personal experience, not as time as a set, liner thing.

Spoiler websites are reporting (from fans seeing the taping of the finale and snapping photos) that it seems like in the finale, Jacob will be visiting some survivors when they were younger....Sawyer's dad's funeral, Jin and Sun's wedding, when Locke fell and was paralized. Also shows photos of Sayid with Nadia when she dies....

DarkUFO has posted a radio interview with 'Young Ben" and he said over and over that Ben is dead and they've "changed time".

He also said the bullet hit a major, important artery a few times.

He said that a 'good theory' is that they will try to undo what they've done...possibly going back in time.

Of course, he could be lying about everything. :)

DarkUFO also posted 3 new previews for tomorrow night and in one of them Hurley mentions the "Back to the Future" theory. :rotfl2:

THis was also posted about the death in the finale:

"For the record, we will have a Charlie's-death-level emotional reaction to the character death at the end of season—there will be wailing, rending of garments and general grief. The writers probably had plenty of doubts about whether or not it was really a good idea to kill this particular character."

You know, I think the writers/producers are behind all these "spoiler" websites. Young Ben is dead, no he's not, now he's definitely dead.:headache: They're trying to drive us nuts! As for publicity, hey, it's got all of us talking about it.

And even though this is the spoiler thread, the death in the finale sounds like a really BIG spoiler, so if somebody is going to post who it is that dies, maybe they could put it in white? I like spoilers, but this one might be too much, you know?

By the way, beattyfamily, I like the last spoilers you just posted, esp. since I'm one of the very few on this board who subscribe to the "Back to the Future" theory of time travel, that you CAN change the past, and everybody keeps telling me that I'm wrong!;)

I know what you mean. They are purposely trying to drive us crazy!

I don't want to know who dies either (I think) but if I find out that one, I'll put it in white. :thumbsup2

Just read this interesting bit of information:

M. Night Shymalan to direct finale

In a shockingly quiet press release yesterday, executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, revealed that the director of the series finale would be none other than acclaimed director M. Night Shymalan. The content of the finale still remains a secret, but Lindelof and Cuse stated that they wished to "get a hold" on the most important episode of next year, to make sure that everything goes "without a hitch." Shyamalan, director of such films as The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Lady in the Water says that he is more than up for the challenge, and will begin working with the producers as soon as his newest film, The Last Airbender, completes production.

Here something from TVGuide.com from Big Ben

Did Lost's Sayid actually kill teenage Ben? If so, does that mean adult Ben will now "disappear"? — Connie
MATT: Already we have heard from Young Ben (aka Sterling Beaumon, full Q&A here) on the matter. Now, let's check in with Adult Ben's portrayer. "Although it appears that the situation is dire, it would be wrong to count Ben out," the deliciously cryptic Michael Emerson tells the Buzz. "Remember that the man we know as Ben has a destiny, and that a conventional life is insignificant when compared to the life of the Island."

And here is an interview with Young Ben

Lost's Michael Emerson had warned TVGuide.com readers that moments would come along this season where you leap off the sofa and shout, "They can't do that! Can they...?" One such shocker expelled from Sayid's gun and landed in a young Benjamin Linus' chest at the end of last week's episode. Sterling Beaumon, 13, shared with us a look at how that blast in the past may change Ben's future. Or not.

TVGuide.com: I know you've done episodes of ER, Heroes and Bones. But was Lost your first death scene?
Sterling Beaumon: No, actually. I was on Crossing Jordan and I had to lie on a coroner's table for almost the whole episode. And on ER, I died in the end, with a tumor in my brain....

TVGuide.com: Of course, my question presumes that Young Ben died from Sayid's gunshot. Might that not be the case?
Beaumon: You'll have to watch and find out. If this tells you anything, I am in two more episodes.

TVGuide.com: Regardless of whether young Ben dies or not, will there be repercussions for what Sayid did?
Beaumon: It will be talked about quite often. That scene may have the greatest significance of any on this show.

TVGuide.com: I read in a previous interview that when you first appeared on Lost (during Season 3), you were warned not to mimic Michael Emerson, because Ben wasn't that Ben yet. Is it safe to say he now is?
Beaumon: Not quite yet....

TVGuide.com: Something more would have to happen to put him on that path?
Beaumon: Yes. And that Ben.... Well, if you go back in the season to when they first met up with [Amy], they tell Daniel, "We can't interfere, because we can't change time," and Daniel says, "It doesn't matter now, because we're stuck here." So now they can change time. So that big older mean Ben that we know very well may not even exist.

TVGuide.com: OK. I was going to say, Who better to carry out the massacre in a few years than a presumed-dead, angry Ben, but....
Beaumon: Maybe the massacre is never going to happen now.

TVGuide.com: How many kids did you beat out for this role?
Beaumon: There were, like, four pages of sign-ins for the first audition.

TVGuide.com: Did you wear a version of Ben's tell-tale glasses for the audition?
Beaumon: No, because we did not even know who the character was. He was called "Young Andrew," and it wasn't even a scene from the "Man Behind the Curtain" episode.

TVGuide.com: Do your eyes look like Michael Emerson's just naturally?
Beaumon: That was one of the requirements. The kid had to have blue eyes and brown hair.

TVGuide.com: Before we go, you said you had a few things you wanted to clear up....
Beaumon: Yes, I was just reading the message boards — I know, I'm so bad — and there are some things I want to address. For example, Ben arrived on the island in 1974, when he was 12 years old. Now it's three years later, so he's like 14 or 15. When Sayid refers to "12-year-old Ben" [in the episode "He's Our You"], he just didn't know. They will later say how old I really am. Also, some people are thinking that Ben killed his dad in the van fire that he set; he didn't. Older Ben killed his dad in, like, 1995. Those are just a few things I'm seeing out there.

:thumbsup2 I loved the Miles/Hurley conversation, very timely.

I'm still confused about the whole "what happened, happened" thing like Hurley is, but I DO like the way they raised the question about Ben knowing Sayid (if not all of them) in 2004 when they crashed on the island. Maybe now the Losties will start putting the pieces together.

And I was actually impressed with Jack tonight. I was very glad he refused to help young Ben. If he believes Miles that nothing will change what happened, then somehow young Ben will survive whether Jack helps him or not. And if Miles is wrong and they CAN change things and young Ben would die, then there won't be a nasty old Ben to torture them in 2004.

kinda convenient that kid Ben wont remember anything after he is fixed.

Yeah, so does that mean Ben doesn't remember Sayid when he sees him again in 2004? Or just that Ben won't remember anything AFTER Richard takes him?

I mean, Kate and Sawyer are risking a whole lot trying to save young Ben's life by taking him to Richard. One would think that when Ben sees them again in 2004 that he wouldn't torture them???

Ok, one more comment before I head off to bed:

WHY is Kate telling people the truth about what happened on the island? First she tells Cassidy and now Claire's mom. It's going to leak out somehow and that'll only cause problems.

I really appreciated that the writers had Miles explain the "what happened, happened" theory to Hurley so that the rest of us might better understand it. I'm still a little fuzzy on things, but it's getting a little clearer now.

What's important to note is that Miles told Hurley that they can be killed (Sawyer, Hurley, Jack, etc) because they're from the future, but if somebody in 1977 (i.e., Ben) is supposed to be alive in the future, then he won't die in 1977. Looks like they're preparing us for whoever it is that dies in the season finale.:sad1:

It'll be interesting to see what happens to young Ben now. Will Richard patch him up and send him back to the Dharma folks? Remember when the Others/Hostiles gassed the DI, Ben was wearing a Dharma jumpsuit when he got in the van with his dad and killed him. Unless THIS is something in the past that CAN be changed without affecting the future?? In the "original" purge, Ben was still part of Dharma when he helped kill them off. But in the "altered" purge, Ben came in as one of the Others/Hostiles to kill them off. The circumstances differed, but the outcome was the same: Dharma was wiped out.

Am I getting better at understanding the "what happened, happened" thing?;)

The question now is: who's going to die?

Any ideas?

They keep saying it will be heartwrenching....

I'm guessing in this order: Sawyer, Juliet, or Sayid.

I do not think it will be Kate, Hurley, Jack, Miles, Daniel, Penny, Desmond, Jin or Sun.

I think Ben could die but I don't think his dealth would be heartwrenching or shocking...

I think there is suppose to be a less upsetting death as well....maybe Miles or Daniel??

Basically, I haven't got a clue!
