I'm still confused about the whole "what happened, happened" thing like Hurley is, but I DO like the way they raised the question about Ben knowing Sayid (if not all of them) in 2004 when they crashed on the island. Maybe now the Losties will start putting the pieces together.

And I was actually impressed with Jack tonight. I was very glad he refused to help young Ben. If he believes Miles that nothing will change what happened, then somehow young Ben will survive whether Jack helps him or not. And if Miles is wrong and they CAN change things and young Ben would die, then there won't be a nasty old Ben to torture them in 2004.

But because Jack wouldn't save the life of a child, Kate had no choice but to take Ben to Richard and what richard does changes Ben into Evil Ben. If Jack had stopped being a whiney baby long enough to save a kid, ben might have been a nice guy (lol).

I do agree with you though--it was nice to see Jack take a stance--it's been a while since we've seen him with any kind of backbone.

Yeah, so does that mean Ben doesn't remember Sayid when he sees him again in 2004? Or just that Ben won't remember anything AFTER Richard takes him?

I mean, Kate and Sawyer are risking a whole lot trying to save young Ben's life by taking him to Richard. One would think that when Ben sees them again in 2004 that he wouldn't torture them???

Exactly, Ben doesn't remember the situation. I think that he might remember being shot by Sayid simply because he insistance that Sayid is a killer and the way he's in able to manipulate Sayid. I think he definitely does not remember Kate and Sawyer saving him. I think he either 1. only remembers up to getting shot or 2. Doesn't even remember that and maybe some more of the past too--like the last 3 years (which would be stupid IMO--they don't need to go that far).

I'm guessing in this order: Sawyer, Juliet, or Sayid.
I do not think it will be Kate, Hurley, Jack, Miles, Daniel, Penny, Desmond, Jin or Sun.
I think Ben could die but I don't think his dealth would be heartwrenching or shocking...
I think there is suppose to be a less upsetting death as well....maybe Miles or Daniel??
Basically, I haven't got a clue!

After last night's episode I really think it's one of the group in the 70s, because Miles saying to Hugo that we can die makes me think that one of them will.

I think Daniel might be too important to kill, but I'm sure one of the episode's left this season will deal heavily with him, especially since his mom (and maybe dad) are going to come into play very soon.

You all did catch the 'Ellie and Charles" reference at the end of the episode right? I didn't--lol--but DH did. One of the hostiles asks Richard if they shouldn't ask Ellie and Charles about this first becauce they might be POd and Richard said that he doesn't answer to them...makes me wonder if Daniel is Widmore's son.

Hope is not Sawyer. I can see Juliet dying in Sawyer's arms, but my guess is Sayid or Hurley. Either way, I'm sure I'll cry my eyes out.

That is exactly what I was thinking too! It's like he has been a zombie ever since the bar scene. It's like he has a death wish. I can't see him being accepted by either side - and not sure what is left for him in his life as a Lostie. I'm guessing he could torture anyone by any means he has in the past - but shooting a kid is harder for his friends to accept. It's like his purpose was to kill Ben - he thought he did (although Sayid is a professional. I don't think that he would run off without making sure the job was done!) and now his purpose for life is gone.

I'm wondering about the lady at the grocery store who had Aaron - she looked like a disguised or older Claire to me. The camera kinda lingered on her face - and she looked to be headed towards the door, not the service desk (although they were side by side - so that might be a stretch!)

I think she was headed to the door and made up the story about taking Aaron to customer service because she got caught. And I think the look between them was because Kate didn't believe her for a minute.

I thought she looked like Claire too. My thoughts are that Ben had the woman try to kidnap Aaron as a way to get Kate to go back to the island. He had know way of knowing at that point that she'd go on her own.

I'm surprised that so far none of them got on the plane due to a mysterious visit from the island. I have assumed that was Hugo reason for sure, but I really thought Kate would be getting a visit from Claire. I guess I can't see Sayid or Kate taking a visit like Hurley...they are much more grounded. but Jack was getting visits from his father and Kate did have the Claire dreams. I guess Jack should count as getting visits...

I also think Sayid makes the most sense to kill off--he seems like the least connected to the island (hence no weird visitors and being forced to be on that plane). And there's really nothing else for him...I'd love to see him redeemed somehow though.

Ok, I'm going to be different. That woman was NOT going to kidnap Aaron, she was taking him to the manager. Kate was feeling torn about Aaron, prob. due to her talks with Cassidy about lying, etc. So when Aaron went missing in the grocery store, they purposely had that woman look like Claire from behind so that Kate would see "Claire" with Aaron and it would deepen her resolve to go back to the island to find Claire to reunite her with Aaron.

If they kill off Sawyer I would have to stop watching Lost and that's my favorite show.

I just read in an issue of Entertainment Weekly that Juliette is filming a new series. They were speculating that she won't be back next season.

A couple of thoughts I had now that my subconscious has mulled over the show for another day:

I need to go back and re-watch this episode, but didn't Ben's bullet wound move? Sayid shot him in the left chest, and yet when Sawyer and Kate are carrying Ben thru the jungle to Richard, it sure looked to me like Ben's wound was now on his right chest? (At least that's where all the blood seemed to be.) Could they have made a mistake in filming?

Re Ben's memories of his youth: As nasty as Ben is, I can't see why he would torture Kate and Sawyer in 2004 if he'd remembered them, since they're the reason his life was saved and the reason he got away from Dharma and became one of the hostiles. Yes, I know Richard said that Ben wouldn't remember "any of this". BUT....we've seen Ben in a Dharma jumpsuit when he gasses the DI during the purge. So at some point Ben must come back to the DI. Assuming Richard heals Ben and sends him back to DI until the time is right for the purge so that Ben can be Richard's "inside man"...won't there be talk back in Dharmaville about what happened, who took Ben to Richard for healing, etc., etc.?? Surely Ben would learn what Kate and Sawyer did for him?

Unless....while young Ben is with Richard getting healed, maybe something happens to transport Kate, Sawyer, Jack et al back to present time (2007)? So when young Ben finally returns to the DI, they're gone already and Horace just assumes that the Losties joined the Hostiles and nobody talks about them? I mean, Horace assumes that someone on the inside let Sayid out of the cell. Right now, nobody suspects it was young Ben. It would be a natural assumption that some of the newer arrivals (Kate, Jack, Hurley) would be suspects. And Horace would remember how Sawyer, Juliet, Jin and Miles were found in the jungle, also under strange circumstances. Perhaps Horace will put the pieces together and think that the Losties were "plants" by the Hostiles. And then when they "flash" back/forward to 2007 and disappear from Dharmaville, Horace will figure that his assumption was correct and that they figured they'd be found out and left the DI are now with the Hostiles.

Ok, that sounds like a great theory to me. Somebody here has to find some major holes in it...........

Even though we haven't seen Frank and Sun (along with Christian) for a couple of weeks - we can't forget that the Dharma Induction Center looked abandoned - as if "the Others led by Ben" never adopted it as their compound... to me - this was a tiny clue that events can be made in the past that alter the future.

Ben's Dad said to Kate that Ben stole his keys - after being asked by Sawyer if he had them. Great exchange there - Ben's Dad said that "Le Fleur doesn't ask a question without already knowing the answer" (or something to that affect).
