Split stays and dining reservations?

Was trying today to book my dining for our upcoming vacation. We have a split stay. One night (April 12) and then the rest 13-17. It seems that the 180 plus 10 has (or is the process of) changed to 180 plus the length of the stay. I had no problems making reservations for April 12 and 13 but I was unable to make them for dates beyond my reservation. (I did call and was able to on the phone but the cm said she didn't think it would work as I check out on the 13, indicating to me that this is changing). I was alway under the impression that it was 180 days to check in but then you could make reservations for the next 10 days even if you checked out 2 days later.

If this is true it will really mess up my future trips as we like to do split stays usually to use my sisters points as well as mine without having to transfer points. (Meaning we stay in the same room the whole time but she pays for 2 nights and I pay for 3. Making it 2 reservations). Has anyone else encountered this? Is this new? Or am I just behind the times?

You can book 180+10 but not beyond the departure date of the reservation you have . The problem you are facing is that a split stay is two separate reservations and thus you have two different 180+10 starting times.

This was our exact scenario today! We have one night (4/12) at WL and then 13-17 at BLT. I was hoping to make all our reservations today. No go. I was only able to make 4/13 & have to call back tomorrow. I understand what they are doing but there should be some kind of override for continuous split stays.
