Starting monday my highschool is having spirit week for homecoming that's on Friday. I get extra credit in English if I dress up, and I could seriously use it. So monday I'm going to school dressed up like its 1985. The later in the week a grass skirt, mardi gras beads and masks are coming into play.

So when is your spirit week, and are you dressing up?

My homecoming spirit week is in 2 or 3 weeks im not sure. But this year I'm most deff. gonna dress up, cause last year i didn't cause i thought i'd be lame but i am this year. And i'm uber excited cause i got my dress last night!!

Our school doesn't have homecoming. We do have a winter carnaval, though, around the first week of February (close to the first week of our second semester).

Each day of that week we have certain "themes" such as hat day (we can wear hats), pj day (we go to school in our pj's), clash day (we can't wear clothes that match), sports day (we wear shirts of stuff that represent our favorite sport or sport team), school colors day (this is always on Friday). This was our week last year, sometimes the themes change.

On Friday, we have classes for half the day and the second half is us going to the gym. We each sit under our poster (we also have a class poster contest, each class "freshman-senior", makes a poster to represent the class. They get judged) but anyway, each class sits together (seniors with seniors etc.) and we partake in all different races and events in the gym, such as: Scooter race (some kids relay across the gym against kids of other classes), Shopping cart race (two kids from each class are involved, one sits in the cart, the other pushes the cart around blindfolded *you'd think that'd be dangerous! LOL*), Suitcase race (the boys in the race have to take clothes from the suitcase and dress up like girls, grab the suitcase and run across the gym...the girls vice versa), flipper race (relay wearing flippers), gum chewing (one kid pushes their partner *who is on a scooter* across the gym. The person on the scooter then has to dig his/her face in a pie of whip cream to find a piece of gum and this first class rep. to blow a bubble wins), then we have the water gun and candle contest. The class advisor holds a lit candle while a student in that class trys to aim the squirt gun to shoot the flame out.) This day is really class versus class.

The year before we had our VP (vice principal) kiss a pig. During the week, students can vote on what teacher or admin. they want to see kiss a pig. EVERYONE hated our VP and so they voted for him. Last year we couldn't get the pig so we brought in a goat. Once again the kids voted for the VP! LOL.

This year the VP is gone (was forced to leave or was going to be fired *I mean NO ONE liked him heh*) So I'll be curious to see who kisses the pig.

Then, to end the week, we have a dance on Saturday. For the winter carnaval dance kids vote for a king and queen and court. Only seniors get it though. (unlike prom where only the juniors get king, queen and court as our proms are junior proms).

Oh and another thing during the half day in the gym...music is blasted! lol. It's music of today. Kids are screaming, faces are painted and teachers are being humiliated in a volleyball game against the students!! LOL

About the volleyball games...the one in the gym during the Friday's events is teachers vs. students. There is also a volleyball game on the Wednesday during that week. The freshmen play the juniors, and the sophomores play the seniors.

Blue and Gold Day ( school colors )

my school need to think up of new days..
they also need to change homecoming back to basketball season.
but noooooo... they decided to change it to soccer (which I have nothing against except you have to walk up and down the school's hill to go to the bathroom and bugs are always around) because we are half decent at it.

I go to a small private school that is 2yr-12th grade but we get to partake in spirit wekk wich is this week!!
ES and HS- favorite disney shirt day!!
HS-Prince/ Princess day
Hs- What i wanna b when i grow up
MS and HS- Hero/herione Day!
ALL CAMPUS-Cardinal red(every friday) hs may wear class shirts!!

This year our h/c theme is: When you wish upon a star....all your dreams do come true!
Friday:
4pm: PARADE
5pm: PEP RALLY-ALWAYS TONS OF FUN!!
7:30pm:GAME TIME

and middle school has thier own stuff that we partake in but wed is a half day so who cares bout wed!!! LOL

Ours isn't until November or December. It's always really stupid, and I ALWAYS forget. I think tomorrow we're supposed to wear red, white or blue (depending on grade).

My school's homecoming is late this year - the game is the last Friday of October, then the dance is the next day.

I love dressing up for spirit week.. we usually have stuff like dress up day, decades day(my favorite ^_^), school colors day, mismatch day, pajama day, etc..

This year my school is having "unofficial" spirit days on Fridays for football.. like if the team we're playing Friday night is a "rich" school we'll word will get out that people will be wearing "preppy clothes" that Friday(short jean skirt, polo top, and a sweater tied around the shoulders ^_^).. or if it's from a really rural area we wear jeans, a plaid button up, and braided pigtails.. it's fun

I know I'm up to be in my school's Homecoming court this year, but I don't think I'll get voted in.. I might be singing a solo at the homecoming assembly though ^_^.. so I'm super excited about that.. I'm not sure what song yet.

This week is our spirit week. Today was Hat Day, tomorrow is Jersey Day, Wednesday is Slipper Day, Thursday is Dress-Up Day, and Friday is School Colors Day for the football game. I am in the school choir and we are singing at the pep rally on Friday. I am nervous yet excited.

Shelby you look so authentic, if I didn't know better I'd think it was the 80's..

Ours changed every year, but one always remained constant: Class wars. Seniors would wear red, juniors black, sophmores gray, and freshmen white (our school colors were red, black and white).

Our school banned hat day due to the gang activity...gotta love my school..

Yea today was our class meeting so all the sophomores got together and got all excited for Homecoming stuff that starts like next week-ish. But I'm the Vice President of my class, and I'm not much of a public speaker. Let's just say that when i get too nervous i tend to talk super super super fast. So at the meeting i wouldn't talk into the microphone, and so afterwards everyone was like "Hey hannah, i liked your speach today!!" But they were just kidding so it wasn't mean or anything.

But each grade makes a float, we usually have a certain topic. Last year it was favorite disney movie. It was super cool, we as freshman got second place which is really remarkable. Our float was Toy Story. The Seniors unfortunately beet us with their finding nemo float. Which won because they had a HUUUUUGE pair of googles on it. It looked really cool though but this year, us Sophomores are gonna win!!!

But all through the week before homecoming we have days that we dress up like 80's day, pajama day, twin day, etc... And during lunch there are little relay games and stuff. Each grade will come up with a game, and our grades a little shy on idea's. lol.

And then on Friday before our Homecoming Game, we have a parade with our finnished float. And Then after that we have the Game, which is always so much fun!! And then the next day is the dance!!!! WOOO I'm gonna dance till i drop dead of tiredness!!!

Our Spirit Week/Homecoming starts tomarrow.. @ the "Kick Off" Assembley (sp) usually the friday before the Spirit Week Starts, we find out who was voted in our homecoming court.

The Theme Days Are:

monday oct 2: Sports Day, wear something from your favorite sports team etc.

tuesday oct 3: Blast From the Past, any decade you want to dress as, as long as it is school appropreite (sp)

wednesday oct 4: Pirates of the Carribbean Day, dress up as a pirate
(Self explanitory)

thursday oct 5: Crazy Day, another that is Self explanitory and has to be school appropreite (sp)

friday oct 6: Hawk Pride Day, Wear orange and blue


i wish instead of crazy day we have stoplight day like we had last year. stoplight day is when you would wear either green, yellow or red. Green meant you had no date for the dance, yellow meant that you werent sure if you do or your arent sure if your going, red meant you are taken..

then at the end of the week, on the friday, we have a huge assembly where we find out who the homcoming king and queen is. its called corination, the gym is decorated really really nice and there is a hige presentation.. its really nice, then whoever was the most spirited got VIP treatment at the homcoming game. you get to sit in a couch at end zone and free food from concessions. you get to chose 2 friends.

oh i forgot out theme is pirate of the carribbean, if only orlando bloom was my date

My spirit week starts tomorrow. We have a pep rally on friday that is supposed to get us excited for the game, but none of our teachers are very enthusiastic.

Monday: Mismatch day.

Tuesday: School team or organization day/hero day: wear clothes representing your favorite team or organization, or dress like a hero. our V.P. picked this day.

Wednesday: Decade day, fashions of the past, present and future. The theme for homecoming this year is past, present, and future, so that's why we have this day.

Thursday: dress up day. we only have dress up day because its picture day.

Friday: ram pride day. Dress in black and gold.

I wasn't too thrilled with the themes this year, but what can you do? coronation is on saturday, the 7th. They announce who won king and queen and afterwards is the dance. Im pretty excited!!
