I know there is mixed revies but we are staying at the Poly again this July and really want to go!
My question is for those of you who have been how is the seating in Category 2 and 3 compared to 1? I'm deciding if we should pay out of pocket for category 1 or just take 2 or 3 on the DP? Any thoughts?:confused3
Thank you for your help!

We were in category 3 seating at the Spirit of Aloha and had no trouble seeing. It was up on the second tier of seating but situated somewhat in the middle (next to the kitchen area). I paid out of pocket for it.

If you're using DDP for it, I'd suggest getting the full use of the credits and getting category 2. I don't think I'd personally pay for the category 1's.

Also, don't go there for the food. The salad and pineapple starter was really good but I didn't really enjoy the meats in the second course. The ribs were overdone and then they tried to compensate for the dryness by slathering them in sauce. The chicken was pretty moist but there was an odd spice there that I didn't really care for.

I ended up eating salad and vegetables mostly.

I'm concerned with the seating becauce of the kids but it seems like 2 & 3 may be fine.

We sat in 1, but I did go to 2 & 3 and stood for a minute to check it out. 2 & 3 seemed okay, but there seemed to be more people in those areas. THe view was fine, though. Nothing really happens over the heads of the actors/entertainers.

I think 2 and 3 should be good. If you book it far enough in advance, you can always ask for a seat nearer the front. The tables, from what I recall, were somewhat set diagonally. In other words, the folks at the table in front of you shouldn't be blocking your view. It's a rather large stage too, so I don't think your daughters will miss too much.

The show was pretty good. I haven't been to an authentic luau to measure it against but it seemed like the children were enthralled. The fire twirler at the end is definitely a show stopper. :goodvibes Another bonus is that for every scantily clad female dancer, there was an equally clad male dancer. I'm all for equality! (Don't worry, it wasn't anything over the top. I just like when they appeal to both the male and female audience members!)

One thing of note, that I did notice, they put whole pitchers of water at your table (typically at the foot of the table). I saw one little girl pick hers up and carry it around the table so she could refill her drink. Her parents almost came unglued since the pitcher was fairly large. They did manage to get it away from her, but you may want to keep that in mind if your daughters are fairly independent.

Of note for you and your husband: alcoholic beverages (such as Bud/Bud Light and house wines) are included in the price. Assuming you have a good server, they often like to refill these glasses (or leave new full ones) before your first is empty. Since my DFi isn't one to waste beer, he ended up having 5 beers before the dessert was even served. :confused3 I slowed the waitress down a tad after that. :rolleyes1 He's got a good alcohol tolerance, so it wasn't a problem, but you may want to watch those drinks! :rotfl:

We normally are in the 2 catagory and honestly have never had a bad seat. I don't think with the layout that there would be any problems seeing no matter what cat you choose though. The food has always been very good when we've went...as was the service. Hope you have a wonderful time! :)

We had cat. 1 on our Nov 2/ visit to the spirit of aloha show and the seats were fab, first table right in front of stage, dead centre. It's great especially if you want to get some great pictures. I think its worth the extra money.

Thank you all for the information! I think we are leaning towards trying to get category 2 so we can use the dining plan.
