My DH decided he wants to go to WDW with me and no kids for his birthday in mid-May. We just had a trip with DS 4 and DS 2 and it was very stressful and DH didn't get to do many things he wanted to which is why he wants this trip with us. Are there any special experiences I can plan at the theme park that would be good for a 40th birthday? TIA!!!

You will have a fantastic time!!

Make sure to wear your birthday button the whole time!

The constant happy birthdays all week were spectacular!

You can also get Goofy to call you and wish you a happy b-day.

I went back and forth on where to celebrate. I didn't know if I should be grown up and sophisticated or to let go of my youth kicking and screaming.

A friend helped convince me to have dinner in the castle that night since I had never been to CRT. It was really nice, but I think if I had it to do over...I would have gone with something different like California Grill, V&A, Artist Point, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Citricos, etc.

I would also pay attention to the best park for the day. Magic Kingdom was packed on my actual 40th birthday. It was the only downer of the whole trip.

I also did a live trip report, with family and friends watching. That was a lot of fun!! Not live, live...but I gave updates almost everyday.

Anyway...my trip report is in my signature.

Consider one of the tours. There's a Segway Tour at Epcot and you can go diving at the Living Seas(if you're a certified diver, that is). There are several wonderful tours that are fantastic. There is a pricey one that is around $200/pp but it's an entire day going to several(if not all)parks and lunch. That has gotten rave reviews. But most are more reasonably priced. I LOVE my adult trips. Enjoy yours! :goodvibes

OH! If your going in May, you might still be able to enjoy the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot. Beautiful!:cloud9:

OH! And maybe a Star Wars Weekend at DHS.

I think that's everything.....no, wait......;)

How awesome! I second what other posters have said about booking a tour. There are so many I want to do, but can't b/c my DD is not old enough for them.

Depending on when in May you go, you might hit Star Wars Weekends. If your DH is a Star Wars fan, this is a must. I believe the first weekend was May 21-23 this past May.

Another fun experience for him may be going to RideMakerz over at DTD and building his onw remote control car. Think Build-a-Bear but with cars. My ex and his brother would LOVE this. They are really in to remote control vehicles and cars in general though.

What a great way to celebrate the big 4-0!

If it's just you and DH then a romantic dinner would be great.

A fireworks cruise is also a great way to spend a milestone b'day.

You could go to Chef's du France. Can't beat having happy birthday sang to you by Remy! :)

As the others said, a tour would go down well, the Segway tours are especially fun.

Dh & I have taken 3 trips w/o kids and had a wonderful time. WDW is a different experience as adults only.

We have also been there for my bday three times. (I have a summer bday). I pick my favorite park and choose my favorite place to eat there. However one year we were at the MK and I was very excited to eat lunch at CP. I was very disappointed that CP was closed that day due to a problem in the kitchen. We regrouped and ate at the Plaza. We had a surprisingly lovely lunch and the mayor sang Happy Birthday to me.

My suggestion, have a vague plan and just have fun.
