Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued

Did you book this with Disney or Atlantis? I would love to do this.

I book through Atlantis . com . I also called the resort, because my plan was to go to the 10:00 am encounter, but was concern with getting off the ship at 9:30 and trying to make it on time. When I spoke to a young lady at the resort, she had said that the 1:40 would be better. So We will spend the morning at the resort, head over to dolphin encounter, and back to the resort until its time to head back to ship. One thing I forgot to mention was that there is a $25.00 charge for those who wants to observe on Dolphin cay beach. But the nice about this is that you dont have to pay until you actually get there. So my DH could change his mind and explor the resort.

Hi Ken and Peter, thanks for responding about updating the list and I apologize in advanced for any confusion I may cause but Deb and Joe were already listed on the lanyard/badge list under Disneyelf10 (Donna, Sean, Deb & Joe). I don't want all of you to have to count them 2x! She finally updated me with her cabin # so I wanted to pass that along for her for the FE! there are two dolphin encounter, 1) dolphin encounter is a no swim close encounter as you touch, hug and even kiss your new dolphin friend.
"Wade in the waters of one of the world’s newest and largest dolphin habitats, where these curious, intelligent animals show off their playful side—and zoom in up close for you to meet". some one will be video taping and photographing your experience.


2) is deep swim. I beleive you swim in deeper water this is for 10 and older. Its simular to the ecounter,but you swim." Your givien a Snorkel, dive, or swim alongside dolphins with your own water scooter. Then experience an unforgettable thrill as a pair of dolphins race you across the lagoon on our signature “foot push.”

We went to the dress rehersal of "The Capital Fourth" that will air on PBS tonight at 8, last night and it was a nice way to spend a free evening. Nothing like sitting on the Capitol lawn in Washington DC watching a show full of celebrities. Jerry Lee Lewis and Huey Lewis and News were great as was everyone. This is a family tradition for us, go to the dress rehersal and watch the real thing on TV. Miss the crowds and still have the experience.

Nothing like sitting on the Capitol lawn in Washington DC watching a show full of celebrities. Jerry Lee Lewis and Huey Lewis and News were great as was everyone. That happened this morning and they are calling for thunder storms most of the day. I guess we will see if the fireworks on the National Mall are a go or not. I just realized yesterday that I would be able to see the fireworks from my new office and we are debating whether or not to go there and watch them, traffic will be a mess.

Peter, we will figure out the transport as we get closer, Lynn doesn't want to drive after we do DL 1/2 and fly all night. All will be good.

Got up a little earlier and got a long run in, starting breakfast, and planning our day, just have a little taping nad mudding to do on the basement, concert in the park, hope to stayawake for fireworks.

Happy 4th of July!

Scott finally gave me an extra hour this morning, so I spent it catching up, have not been on the computer since Sunday! Of course, only caught up on this thread, have a few more to catch up on, that will have to wait until next break. We have been working on the basement and have been making progress, now have all drywall hung, returned extra drywall to Lowes, and we are now on the mudding, sanding, mudding routine. I have been sanding while Scott has been mudding. Will do the same today.

There has been just too much to reply to, so I am not going to even try!

To whomever asked about where to get grass skirts, I do not remember seeing a reply - Oriental Trading Post has some, (OrientalTrading.com I think) and I found some locally at a Party supply store, if you have something like that, you might find them there.

Well, time to get back to work, we will knock off early today to celebrate!

Happy 4th everyone. DH went out of town this morning. I work this afternoon and tonight, but I will take my break during the fireworks show that is about 100 yards from my desk.

For those that have visited Atlantis, can I get some advise for the best way to spend the day. The resort looks huge, and I don't want to miss out on anything special.

Hey! we are in DC also (DH works there so we are visiting him). We are watching the (hopeful) fireworks from the balcony of his apartment across the river in Arlington! It has been raining this afternoon. We have been here the last 2 years, when bad storms almost ruined everything, but they did the fireworks anyway!

We like to turn the TV on to the channel that shows the Capitol Fourth show, and listen to the music and watch the fireworks from the balcony!
