David, I am sending prayers for your family.

Janis, I love the shirts. Thank you for taking the time and initiative to design them.

Ken, we are so lucky to have you helping us with the name badges. Thank you.

Happy 4th everyone. DH went out of town this morning. I work this afternoon and tonight, but I will take my break during the fireworks show that is about 100 yards from my desk.

For those that have visited Atlantis, can I get some advise for the best way to spend the day. The resort looks huge, and I don't want to miss out on anything special.

Just go over you will be fine it is about the size of adventure land.
You will be fine.
Been there done that a couple times.
;)
Water taxi or land taxi will get you there, must tell you it is a bit of a walk from the water taxi!!
pirate: but you get to go thru a nice shop area!

Tink, the grounds are worth exploring and the Dig is not to be missed so be sure to leave some time for that. The slides will probably take up most of your time there which are just awesome! We were a little disapointed in the beach there compared to CC so we aren't going to waste our time there unless we have time to spare. BTW, the beaches in the Bahamas are all public - even the one in front of Atlantis. The lobby is pretty cool. (It was featured in a Ricky Martin video several years ago.) If you get a chance to walk thru, the resort is worth a look-see on your way out or in but no bathing suits without coverups, if I remember correctly.

WOO HOO

It has taken Mom and I (with a little help from my brother & SIL) a little over 3.5 months but the Mickey Room, the upstairs bathroom, Mom's bedroom, my bedroom and the downstairs bathroom, all finally have the....

DONE
stamp on them!!!!!!!!! I can't believe all that we have done...it sure was a lot of hard work but the results are so worth it...the upstairs in our house looks so different now.....Scott & Lynn....thanks for all the inspiration....now I'm thinking about re-doing the living room, dining room and kitchen...but they'll have to wait until after the cruise!!!

I just booked our room at the Comfort Suites for our day in Nassau. $216 for 4 adults was a heck of a lot better than Disney's excursion. :cool1:

What would be the latest we would want to head back to the ship--maybe not the latest, we would want to leave with plenty of time to spare.

Earlier I saw someone ask about making the most of your day at Atlantis, and I am curious about that, too. it will probably be the lazy river for me, not the slides, and a little time in the casino and some time in the aquarium area, too. Anything else that shouldn't be missed?

You know, we have been there twice and that darned lazy river illudes us. We have tried twice to find a spot to get in and never find it. We can see people floating just never find the stairs. Maybe we just have the attention span of a flea and begin looking at something else. I dunno. After as much as we enjoyed the one at the Marriott in Aruba, I am bound and determined to find the blasted thing!!;)

Wine & Cheese Party
in the Roy Suite!!

September 4, 2008
Time TBA

We will be hosting an informal get together immediately following the cabin tours on our day at sea. Everyone will be welcome to stop in and see the Roy Suite and have a glass or two of wine and some cheese (we may even have some curds from Wisconsin   ).

You are asked to bring a bottle of wine to share with the group (one per room/family unit). Children are welcome for the tour but we ask that only adults stay as there will not be any entertainment for the children. If things get too crowded, we will move the party up to Deck 9 near the adult pool.

Great Job!

Hi everyone,

Well, I'm finally trying to figure out how I want to spend my day and things to do. I really want to do the Dolphin Encounter at Atlantis. I so want to go and see Atlantis so I think I'll do it over there. So on Wednesday we will be there I understand that we can disembark at 9:30. I was thinking of doing a day pass so that we can see the lagoons and the dig as I hear they are not to be missed. Has anyone experienced these lagoons and is it not to be missed? We have early dining, so on the 3rd day, does anyone know which restaurant we "might" be at? I don't want to miss the dining, however, I'm not sure that I can fit everything in with the time allowed and so I need to make some decisions. I thought it might be best to do our dolphin swim last, and then head back to the beach. I know there are some seasoned cruisers here and so I'm hoping that someone might answer with some suggestions as to what to do. All are welcomed. This is my first cruise with my 10 year old and I am trying to make it as special as possible. Doing the day pass would give us access to the beach, the lagoons and the dig. So thank you in advance for your input.

Hi Kellie,
That's a great question. This will be our first experience at Atlantis as well and I hope I'm not over doing it. I booked a room with comfort suite so that we can hit the resort in the morning then head over to dolphin cay for the dolphin experience at 1:40 then back to resort for the rest of the day . I was wondering if hitting the dolphin encounter at the end of the day would be better. I hope some can answer both our questions.

I think you can do the grounds and The Dig in 3-4 hours. The lagoons and marine habitats are really cool. (Go to their site and look around to get a better idea.) It shouldn't pressure you too much for time. Are you going to go to the beach? To be honest, the beach at CC is nicer so I would leave that for last if time allows.

Hey Guys Twinmom108 and family stopped by for a visit, it was very nice to meet them, now we have to get Allen into the Grass Skirt Frat. Sounds like they had a great trip to Yellowstone, they had some great critter sightings, I'll save that for her to explain.

Tour was fun to watch this morn, made a display shelf for our running medals, Lynn is in the process of painting them, built a dog fence so as to keep the pups away from the baby robins that should try to leave the nest soon,

Now to get my mind back in the game for work tomorrow.

Good Evening All.
We had a great 3 day weekend. Food, Fireworks, Fun & Firewater.:goodvibes
Sunny and warm each day.
Back to the grind monday.:guilty:

O.K. Scott, I guess you could call me a weather person.
I just try to keep track. Keep ahead of the game. No surprises.

Ah Yellowstone. Or Jellystone as one person called it.:rolleyes1
We had a great trip there 4 years ago august.
Snowed each evening and on the last day there. Not a real problem.
Really enjoyed the trip thru Jackson, the Teatons and Yellowstone.

Hey Kid. Congrats on the remodeling.
Sounds like a lot of work was involved.:scared1:
Am sure that it looks great. Where did you get all that DCL stuff? Hmmmm!

Atlantis.
We did a trip there once.
Enjoyed the casino, one of the restaurants and a little of the aquarium (the free part)
Will do the Aquaventure Water Park. Should be a good time.

Hard to believe that it is just 8 weeks to go. Starting to get excited.
Everyone have a great week.

Mouse Surplus is a real KEWL place...lots of neat stuff....right now they have tons of stuff from the Grand Floridian and Animal Kingdom.

We went to see the Magic off today in San Pedro! It's was pretty awesome. I couldn't believe we would actually be on that ship in September. When finally leaving they blew that magic horn and I got goose bumps.

I really can't wait to meet all of you and be on our cruise already!
