Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

We drive, too, but our limit seems to be about 400 - 450 miles a day. Of course, we're 60, and you're young, so that will make a difference. We have found it's important to keep well hydrated, snack or a butterscotch when we get the "yawns" and stop at regular intervals for a little brisk walk. We take a cooler stocked with healthy food and water and only stop for a sit down meal at night.

Unfortunately the interstates where we can make the most time aren't very interesting, but they do have convenient hotels. We try to always stay at one of the Marriotts (pick your chain of choice) so I can call the rewards number and book when we figure out how far we're really going to go on a given day.

Good luck and have fun.

PS. My appliances of choice are a coffee pot and a fry pan. I can even make pizza in it, lol.

LindaBabe, thanks for the good advice. We will have plenty of water & food with us while we drive. I'll be bringing a large cooler hopefully filled with healthy snacks that our 3 hungry teens will eat.

Why do you bring a coffee maker? Do you not like the coffee makers at the WDW resorts?

This will be the longest road trip (and vacation) I've ever done. Planning on making day one the longest driving day. Then day two about 2-3 hours less and day three about 6-8 hours total driving time.

It's only October and our trip is not till June, but we're already excited and busy making plans for it.

:cool1: :cool1: Happy Birthday Scott!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Are you going to be around on Sunday??? JB in Tampa!

Thanks for the B-Day wishes you guys, so KEWL!!!!

Sadly we are heading home Sat.

Weird being in Fl and it is warmer in Wyoming.

No exercise today rest day.

For you DVC folks from afar, we got one of those Owners Lockers and I am impressed by it's size, might just get another so we can just travel with a carryon. No luggage fees. Air travel these days is no fun at times.

Off to get some fast rides in today,

Peter hope ya are getting better every day.

We had SNOW yesterday!!!:cold: It was so funny watching the snowflakes swirl around outside... In October in NJ!

Scott and Lynn... so good to see you guys and walk through the DVS models (and notice the construction... LOL!) CONGRATS on your TOT runs! :thumbsup2

Leslie + Joe... Always FUN!

Elaine... Lit your candle in Mouse Beach. Let us know when in May. We'll see if we can swing something then so we can say Hi!

Bob... Will let you know when to watch the mail! LOL!

Everyone! Miss you all so much. Did anyone register for the Princess Races in March? Still haven't made up my mind on those yet.

After just one day back at work... I'm ready to go back to the world! When we landed in Philadelphia on Monday night we could see the stadium filling up for the Series. Now they're back in Florida!

No, they are still in Philly. 3 innings tonight to finish Monday's game.
Go Phillies!

You're right, I did just read that. Yesterday, the press said they would be going back to Tampa for the 3 innings! Go Figure! I'm sure the Phillie Fans are glad they'l be able to use their tix again! ;)
