Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

Leslie (disneypindiva), we know you have to be excited about the superbowl tomorrow. Is your terrible towel ready to go? go cardinals!

I have been thinking of Leslie and her towel!

Sigh. I hate to admit that I would agree with Les, but

Time for the party.:cool1:

As a former PA resident, I guess I would have to go for the Steelers also, but, as you can see, I am posting when the game is on, and I am not watching the game!

Go Steelers!!!!!

Lynn I didn't know that you were from PA.....Leslie made me a honourary Steelers fan back in 2006 when I watched the Super Bowl and they won..... I'm watching the game tonight (of course I don't understand what a down is or anything else - NFL is different from the CFL)....thank goodness my computer is in the family room so I can Dis and watch the game.

I know Leslie is waving her Terrible Towel!!!!!!

YEAH STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SUPERBOWL XLIII CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!

I bet Leslie is happy!!!!!!!!

Elaine - I was born in California, but grew up in PA, right next to Valley Forge National Park (it was a state park when I lived there). I went to college at Penn State, then moved back west at the age of 28! I have now lived in WY more years than I have lived anywhere else!

WHAT A GAME!!!

I was glued to the set all night... screaming my head off!!! :thumbsup2

STEELERS WON IT!!!

I was swinging a dishtowl around! :rotfl2:

Great Pictures Lesley!!! What a WONDERFUL place to take a vacation! :thumbsup2

Bob! An extra vacation day! That's a no brainer... either a JB concert of a trip to the World!!! ;) ENJOY!

It was 55 degrees yesteday. It felt like Indian Summer after the cold spell we've been having. Joe and I brought up Dad's dog, Sparky, to see him. It's been 3 weeks! We got Dad into his sweats and wheeled him outside. It was quite a JOYFUL reunion, filled with smiles, barking, nad muddy paw prints.

No new pc purchases yet, BUT, I've been looking at a mini for me. Does anyone out these have one? Any suggestions? I want to be able to take it back and forth to Mouse Beach. Manage my pictures and projects on it, do Excel and Word documents, and access the internet.

Happy Day from NJ! pixiedust:

Funny you should mention that Georgie. Got an e-mail today announcing the 2009 concert dates. The tour is called Summerzcool.
They will be in Indy Aug 11. A tuesday.:scared1:
Scott, the closest to you would be Las Vegas. May or October.
Lots of multimedia in the announcement. A YouTube video and a GoogleEarth plot of all the concerts and Margaritaville sites. KEWL.
I  GoogleEarth.

MINI-LAPTOPS
I think they are neat. For me, the screens are a bit too small. I've gotten used to the widescreen 15". And most of the minis don't have a cd/dvd. So that would leave me out.
There are several full feature ones out there with good prices.

Great news about your Dad.:thumbsup2

SUPERBOWL
I really did not have a dog in the hunt. I just thought the Steelers would win.
Should have been rooting for the Cards as a local kid was playing for them.
#56 Chike Okeafor.

Have a great week.

Georgie - we have a Asus Eee PC series computer, it is very small and cute - the disadvantages - it is harder to use the keyboard because it is so small, and you would need an external hard drive if you wanted to manage pictures, the hard drive in the unit (if that is the proper terminology) is very small. Scott just set ours up so that I can use it on our trips to download pictures and encorporate them to a daily journal, but we are using a portable hard drive and flash drives (?) - again, I am not sure if I am calling them the right thing - Scott is trying to make me computer literate, but it is an uphill battle! You might be happier with a lap top, they are larger, but still very portable, and you could probably find one to meet your needs without having auxilary equipment.

Thanks for the help Lynn. We've been looking at the external drives too. It's a big decision 'cause the older we get the more $$$ our toys get. :thumbsup2

We had our Storybook Snowfall yesterday! I was like a kid again (more so than normal...) It was simply BEAUTIFUL beautiful, about 5 inches coating every nook and crannie. The trees were glistening. Everything looked fresh and new. I wish we could have had it for Christmas!

Big NEWS! Dad is scheduled to be discharged this Friday! We will have work to do to get ths house ready, but will work on that tonight. Mom and I have a meeting this afternoon. I will probably be the one who will have to ask the tough questions, such as... can Dad really be self sufficient in standing, dressing, etc. ;)

Ok...for all of you having all the winter weather, lots of snow and cold.
Here in south FL we are goint to be in the mid 30's tonight. Yes, we will turn the heat on before we go to bed!

Cheryl! You again?!

Hope you all are doing well. Big weekend for us...I have reservations for Bob's birthday at The Breakers this weekend. Can't wait. Two great dinners and brunch planned, plus I will take him to his favorite oyster bar in Palm Beach before we check in.

Congrats Leslie on the Steelers win...we were rooting for the Cardinals.
Gotta stick with the NFC if the Pack wasn't in it! Sorry Leslie.

Gonna see some comedians in the next couple months...Gabriel Iglasias and Ralphie May. Gonna head up to Universal in April for the Trace Adkins concert during Mardis Gras.
Yeah, yeah. Rub it in about the cold. Well, we don't get hurricanes.

Sounds like a great celebration for Bob's 51st. Don't wear him out.:goodvibes

And Mardi Gras at Universal has to be a blast.
We will probably just celebrate with a King Cake at home or go to the Cajun restaurant.
Been to the real thing twice. Too old for that stuff now.:rolleyes1

Expensive toys.
If you think about the bang for the buck and take into account inflation, computers now a days are really inexpensive, comparatively.
If you are going to get an external drive, you might as well go with the big boy--1 Terabyte.:scared1: The price per byte on them is the best.
Just think about how many pictures that would hold.:faint:

I did find this website that might help......http://www.small-laptops.com/

Georgie - good news about your dad, and good luck with the computer hunting!

Cheryl - it is currently 44 degrees here, 36 with wind chill factor, high today at 59 degrees! Maybe you should come here for a winter break:rotfl2: The whole time we were in Orlando in Jan, it was only 1 degree colder here than it was there!

In case I forget later :bday: Bob!

Have a great day everyone!

Bob... Thanks for the link! I will take a look.

Lynn! WOW! It's warmer there than here... 14 degrees and breezy!

I've got to chip away all the ice on the porch and walk before Dad comes home tomorrow. :faint:

One week from today we'll be in Florida!!! :beach: Gotta get those temperatures UP!!! pixiedust: Latest weather check showed highs to be in the 70's and lows in the 50's.

Georgie,

Check out gotapex.com. changes every day and has pretty good links to deals for all kinds of stuff even laptops. I just build out a Dell mini for a friend. Size of a hard cover book 2lbs, very thin perfect for web, email. Has ports on the side for all types of cards from most cameras. Than you add a mini usb exteral (costco) and your good to go.. Even has a web camera built in.
..Bryan

Good Morning Folks!
