I will be going for my very first Spa experience on Saturday! It will also be my first pedicure! I'm not sure what to expect...does everyone bring a bathing suit and use the whirlpool before their spa treatment?
Do the lockers they provide have locks on them so I can lock up my purse? I also do not know if it is customary to tip the person who performs your spa service (in my case the pedicure?), if so, how much?
I'm sure there must be someone out there who knows the answer to these things! I'm stressing out about doing the proper thing while I'm there! Help!:earseek:

Hi,

I don't know if I can answer all of your questions. But I'll try and then maybe someone else might answer more.

They did have lockers. It was a very nice locker room and I vaguely remember having some sort of key with me.

You are allowed same day access to the whirlpool when you have a treatment. I didn't bring my bathing suit. But you could easily do it after your pedicure.

I usually tip anywhere from 10 to 20 percent depending on service.

Hope that helps a little.

Have fun!

Here is the link for their website it should answer some of your questions. www.relaxedyet.com

When we went we did not utilize the health club, we went for an aromatherapy bath and then a massage.
When you go in you are given a locker, with a lock and you put your belongings in the locker. Since we went for the aromatherapy bath first we put on our bathing suits. At the time the gratuity was already added on your bill, but you could tip extra if you wanted.

Thanks for the info! I decided to treat myself to an aromatherapy massage when I am at WDW next month.:sunny:

I went last summer to GF spa with my dd. She had the "first manicure treatment and I had the back, neck, leg and feet treatment. It was wonderful. You check in at the front desk. They then give you a robe/slippers and a key for your locker. I put my bag and shorts/t'shirt/sneakers in the locker and waited just a few minutes before I was called. I was put in a dim lit room and before I knew it a woman with magical hands came in. It was great. I kept my bathing suit on under my robe and when it was time for my treatment, I took offf my robe and I just slipped my bathing suit down to the bottom of my waist. After that, they brought me to the foot/leg treatment room. That room is shared by 3 or 4 other people. Its just like getting a pedicure type of chair and although that was good, the back/neck treatment was the best. When your all done you can go into the small pool/jaquzzi for a few minutes if you want to. At the front desk they have small envelopes for you to put your tip in. Its great and we do it every time we go down.

I've had dozens of spa treatments at the GF Spa over the years, and never used the whirlpool there. (I've used the facilities at other spas though) I'd say that maybe one in ten use the whirlpool based on what I've seen over the years. I think there's just too much other stuff to do at WDW that most people don't want to take the time for it.

You will be given a locker with a key on a wristband to keep you stuff in during your treatment.

In all honesty when just getting a pedicure, I wouldn't change or even use a locker, I just took my purse into the treatment room with me.

As an FYI, I stopped going to the GF Spa when TC left, I now use her "Mobile Manicure Service" and have her come right to my room for ultimate convenience! It's the same treatment I'd get at the GF Spa minus the chair and spa facilities for 1/4 the cost  Anyone who wants her number to get an appointment of more info, PM me and I'll give it to you.

It's very customary to tip--20% seems to be the norm for hands on procedures, 10% for less hands on such as a secret garden bath type of thing where they only draw the water for you. The therapists and technicians don't make very much for an hourly wage, and depend on tips for the bulk of their income.

just a side note now the lockers are electronic so you longer have a key.

I was thinking about getting the LOS pass. I love spas and we are going to have a lot of down time at the resort. I thought it would be nice to workout and then use the steam bath. I enjoy getting ready for the day at the spa:) It's so relaxing and tranquil. I was thinking about getting a treatment done in the early evening after doing the parks:cloud9:

Mirlow, my DH gets the LOS spa/healthclub pass on each visit to the GF. He absolutely loves spending time there. He also uses it to get ready in the morning, because he likes to use the steam room before shaving.

Enjoy.

Thank you everyone for your replies! This has been very helpful to me. I'm up tonight packing a few more things and we'll be leaving for wdw in the morning!!! I'm feel more relaxed about the spa now that I know what to expect. I'll write a mini spa report when I get back on the 23rd!
Bye!!!:wave2:
