Southwest March break

Southwest has releasesd the rest of March! Some good prices too!

:scared1:Unfortunately I was asleep at the wheel thinking the flights would be released next week-I was sure I read that:headache:
By the time I returned from work, I did not score any good deals.
Got the last web only flight returning on the Sunday March 20 for $189, but still needed 3 more flights that I paid $224 for, and had to book the flights down at $299 each out on the Saturday.
I feel like an idiot for not getting on board as soon as they were released.
I will keep checking every day until March to see if I can get something cheaper-not holding out much hope though.
DH can't come until the Monday and I can get him a flight down for $144-half of what I am paying for us on the Saturday.:sad2:

Don't worry petbren, there weren't any good prices for March break weekend even at 7 am! The best deal was around $180 one-way return. Those sold out by lunch time and now I think it's over $300 one-way for return on that weekend. I was able to book flights for 4 for $1200 which is not great ... but better than $2200 through Pearson. I knew they would be pricey since Airtran and JetBlue both posted high March prices awhile ago. Oh well.

The only deals were for returns on Wed or Thurs for $89 ... in fact I think these are still posted if anyone's flexible.

I too wanted to fly out of Buffalo, but by 09:30 am the direct flights were sold out and only expensive flights were left. So I decided I'd try Detroit and snagged 4 direct return flights, for $1000. We have family in London so we'll have an overnight visit with them to break up the 4 hour drive. And while we're in London rub it in that we're off to Disney. :goodvibes

I was nervous to read this post to see that I paid too much but I also saw JetBlue and Airtran prices out of the US and there were no deals at all if flying on weekends direct. I think $400 is as much of a deal as you will find this March Break!

I took a gamble in August and booked on JetBlue out of Buffalo - we're just under $300 a person return. The SW flights would have been more, as it turned out, so the gamble was okay.

It's still better than Pearson. The other day I checked AC prices for August (we're DVC, so book eons in advance) and the best I could pull was $500. I still manage to get us out of Buffalo for roughly two-thirds what it would cost to fly out of Pearson.

Hi there, we're DVC too:) We have only flown SW and I guess we get comfortable with what we're use to.
March Break 2007 - people return from Detroit(I booked this as it was much cheaper than Buffalo)--total with taxes $1331.20
This year out of Buffalo-$1979.69:scared1:
And that's with DH flying in on the Monday which was much cheaper $144 compared to our $299

Here's a real downer: flying October 2009 from Buffalo, return for 4-$637.10:confused3
Talk about taking advantage of poor sun deprived Canadians seeking sun in March;) TRIPLE the price:sad2:

It's great you have somewhere to stay. We did this in 2007 to save some $$. Unfortunately our flight was delayed on the way back and it's a long drive home after a relaxing trip to Disney;)
I was soooo exhausted I still have no idea how I made it back home that night. I swore never again to do that drive home so we paid even more $$ to have the 1.5 hour dive back from Buffalo---oh well, it's only money:rolleyes1
