I just saved some $$$ by rebooking my flight at a lower cost, but I can't seem to find out how long that credit is good for. I tried looking at the SW website, but gave up. I figured someone here would know.

I just did this and it said it was a year from the original booking. Be aware that after Jan. 2011, you can only use the credit in whoever's name it was in originally!

Under the Travel Tools tab on the top right corner of the SWA screen is an option Travel Funds Balance. If you look up your confirmation there, you'll be shown the expiration date of your credit. This expiration date should be exactly 1 year from the date that you originally purchased your airfare.

Can I ask how you knew that the rate had been lowered? I keep checking and nada... the flight is even sold out now.

The only way to know if your flight price has been lowered is to go the SWA website and look up the price. If it's lower then you go through the steps required to secure a credit. They won't notify you; you have to go look yourself.

Prices don't always drop. If your flight is sold out then prices will obviously never drop. I get credits on maybe 1/3 of my flights (I buy when I'm comfortable with the price, not when I think I've got the lowest possible price) and only on ones where I'm flying non-peak days.

ok thanks that is what I was doing, and they never went down... then it sold out completely!! LOL

Thanks for the help, I assumed it was a year, but you know what happens when you assume things......

As far as how did I know the price dropped.........well I just check the website every few days to see if the price has gone down. It just takes a few minutes.
