Southwest Business Class Upgrade

Does Southwest have a "deal" for upgrading to Business on the day of your flight? Airtran will let you upgrade for $49.00 and I was hoping Southwest had a similar policy.

SW doesn't have a business class, so there is no deal possible.

They do have a "Business Select" fare option, but that only changes the refundablity etc. (and gets you a good boarding group - A1 to A16).

I don't look at Southwest as having no business or first class section. My wife and I always get a "first class" seat on their 1 class airline!

SW offers "business select". You get A1-A15 BP, a free drink and extra RR credit (.5?) They were testing offering upgrades at the gate at different prices.

Not really worth it.

However you want to phrase it, there is nothing to which you can upgrade.
