Southwest boarding skips numbers?

I noticed on another thread that someone checked in and got B 8 and 10. Didn't think much about it until I just checked myself, DH, and 2 DS in. All on same reservation and we got in a row A 38, 40, 42, 44. So will there be people in between us like last time I flew SW, or did SW change it to where there are only even numbers?

:confused3

This has happened to us twice and both times there were other people mixed in with us. We were told we had to line up in exact numerical order, but as soon as we handed in our boarding pass we sorted ourselves out and walked down the ramp with our correct parties.

The funny thing is that one time we had a connecting flight and the same two women from the first flight were mixed in with us again for the second flight. We got a good laugh and joked about "traveling together."

Not really a big deal. I think it's a glitch in the system when two people check in online at the exact same time.

I fly SW on a monthly basis and have never seen them say that you must be in exact numerical order. You DO have to be in the group that they call (A1-15, A 15-30, etc), but I'm constantly in those sections where people are a number or two ahead or behind of where they should be and the gate agent never bats an eye.
