Well, heck. I was in the middle of posting to this thread last night when my computer crashed.
It seems to be behaving itself today (heck, we've all been a bit under the weather at one point or another in the last couple of weeks, so why not the computer too?), so apparentally the rest did it good.
Anyway, I wanted to say what Jeremy said about the lemon and lime juice, but he's already said it, so -- what he said.
SPB999, I think avocado is best eaten in small quantities in Phase 1, and the same would go for guacamole. Mmm, guacamole.
Leanne, good to 'see' you again! Good on you for effortlessly maintaining during the holidays, and for your 3-pound weight loss in January!! What a great way to start the year!
Kerri, welcome! The worst is surely behind you now, and congratulations on your loss! How wonderful to be doing this with your husband! Good for him too!
Jeremy, I realize that it's winter and it can be hard to get exercise into your day, but do you really think an indoor swimming pool is necessary? Joke! Joke! Sorry for the aggravation you've put up with, and congratulations for staying on track in very trying circumstances!
Mary, vent away! I'm sorry it's been rough going. One suggestion -- try sitting down and making an eating plan for the whole 2 weeks of Phase 1. Decide what you'll eat on which days and already do the shopping, so you won't be caught short and hungry in the face of temptation. It may help to do what I did at first -- I would repeat to myself 'It's only two weeks. I can do anything at all for two weeks,' and, when pulled towards something I used to eat and couldn't on Phase 1, I would lie like a big rug and tell myself 'I don't eat that anymore. I don't even find it appealing.' Honest to goodness, when I passed through the candy aisle of the grocery store in the early time, I used to avert my face from the chocolate and hiss 'I'm stronger than you. '
Now I don't need to do that, because it's all true -- I don't eat like that anymore, I don't even find it appealing, and I was, am, and will continue to be stronger than some sugary, sticky bar.
Stay tough! You can do it!! If you feel low, come here and tell us, and we'll be here to cheer you on!!
