South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Wow! All of you have been doing soooo great while I've been away. I've been so busy planning my cruise, I haven't stopped by for a while. I am now 2 lbs away from my cruise goal. I leave in 12 days.....you think I can do it? I am 7 lbs away from my goal weight! I can't believe it!!!!!! That will give me total loss of 60 lbs and from a size 18-20 plus to a size 10! Whoo Hoo! :teeth:

Shelia - I am so proud of you! You are so close to goal! I know you'll lose those 2 pounds before you leave. You went from a size 18/20 to a size 10? Woohoo!!!!! That has got to be the most awesome feeling. You are an inspiration to us all.

I definitely see a red goal clippie in your near future. You're almost there so keep it up and please let us know when (not if) you lose those 2 pounds. :)

Sheree' - I hope you have a wonderful vacation too!!! :sunny:

Lisa, thanks! You're my inspiration!!! I am sooo proud of you! :D

I will definitely let y'all know if I make my goal or not.....let's hope I do.

Sheree, I hope you have a great vacation also. Just think how much skinnier you are now!

Shelia- congrats!!! I do believe that you can make your goal before you leave. You've already done a remarkable job!! I hope your trip is fantastic too

Well, today is the last day of Phase 1 for me so I decided to weigh in and I have lost 8 pounds!!!! Whoo hoo!!!! :teeth: I am so excited!

Thank you all for the encouragement by telling me that what I thought was a weight-loss stall wasn't really and to keep it up. You were right and I am happy. I was hoping to have lost 10 by now because I would be half way to my goal, but this is just fine. ;)

I wasn't sure if I was going to head into Phase 2 or not, but I am going to. I want some different food! LOL! I am ready for something cruncy beside celery! :mickeybar

I hope everyone else see some results today, too! And, really, thanks for the support!

Cinderellafifi, that is WONDERFUL!!!!! Congrats on your weight loss...8 lbs is awesome! In only lost 5 on Phase 1.

Sheree, thanks so much! :D

Cinderellafifi - how wonderful for you!!!! I am so glad that you didn't quit, that you hung in there. It will get better as you continue on. BTW, I know the feeling of wanting something different after being on phase one. Bring on the good stuff

:thewave:

Cinderellafifi- Go get that 5 pound clippie!!! Soon you'll be claiming the 10::yes::

Cinderellafifi - Congratulations to you!!!! You're on your way to Phase 2!!! Woohoo!! The variety available on Phase 2 is so nice.

Hi!
I started the South Beach on April 27th. I only weigh myself once a week at my Tops meeting. During Phase I, I lost 9.5 pounds. This week I added back a little bit of fruit, milk, and yogurt. I even started exercising a bit. My clothes are a lot looser and I've lost a few inches, so I was looking forward to another good weigh in. I was soooo disappointed to have only lost half of a pound this week. I feel good and I have not cheated at all during the last three weeks (for once in my life). However, I'm a big time quitter so I am trying not to let myself get discouraged. Any suggestions?
Lori

Please don't get discouraged. This is a process. How long did it take you to put the weight on? Don't expect it to dissappear overnight, (although I wish it would) I have been on since the end of January and I've only lost 26 pounds. There are other's around here that have dropped more during that time. It all depends on your body. We are here to offer support to you anytime you need it. Hang in there, the weight will come off and it really will be worth it. :grouphug:

Lori - let me join Sheree in encouraging you not to be overly discouraged and give up. You have done so well! When I feel like giving up (as we probably all sometimes do) I asked myself, what is the alternative? Going back to eating all those bad carbs and undoing the good work I have done these past 5-1/2 months? I don't think so!

I too have not cheated since I started and work out 6 if not 7 days per week and have had weeks where I have lost 1/2 pound but know what? Those 1/2 pound weeks have helped me get to where I am today - down from a size 22/24 pants to size 16; I'm down almost 60 pounds and have lost over 40 inches! Like Sheree said, the weight didn't get put on overnight and no matter how hard we work and no matter how hard we want it to speed up, our bodies are only going to release this weight when they are good and ready. But if we give up, it will never happen.

Please hang in there and know we are here to support and encourage you. We all know you can reach your goal!!! :)

Hi everyone!

I just finished reading this whole thread (yes, the whole thread), because I too have decided to jump on the South Beach Diet bandwagon. I originally started trying to get into better shape in mid-December when I topped the scales at 230. I have been down as low as 209 a couple of weeks ago but I've kind of gone off the wagon the past few weeks. I was basically following a routine of "eating right" and exersice.

After my most recent detour, I decided to take the plunge and try South Beach. I chose South Beach since it seemed to really make sense in terms of what I have always been taught about nutrition. I am a little nervous about getting through the first two weeks, but I'm confident I can do it.

I am also training for the 2005 WDW Marathon, so exersice will also play an important role in dropping these extra pounds for me. (Trust me, if I'm going to be running 26 miles then I want to be carrying less weight!)

So, thank you all for all the great input on this thread already and here's to hoping for a great first day on the Beach tomorrow!!

Solotraveler - Welcome to the Beach! We are happy to have you and know you'll do well!

Thanks, Sheree' and Lisa -- I appreciate the encouragement. I'm determined to stick it out even though I do have a bad track record. I'm trying to concentrate on not sabotaging myself.

Welcome SoloCruiser! You're going to LOVE South Beach!!

Lori, don't worry....I did the same thing as you. After I started Phase 2, I stalled for 6 weeks!!!! NO weight loss for 6 weeks. I felt like giving up. All of a sudden, the weight started dropping. Someone else on here describes it as a WHOOSH! (I love the phrase!) Anyway, give it time. The weight WILL come off.

Good news here! I weighed in this morning and I've lost 3 lbs this week! Do you know what that means????? I am at my cruise goal weight! Now, I have 4.5 lbs to lose to reach my overall goal. I've decided that when I do get there (and I will), that I might actually lower my goal. You know, it all depends on how I look naked. LOL

I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and making me feel all warm inside. You guys are the best! :D

WeirdEyes- YES! Knew you could do it. You will enjoy your cruise so much more now knowing that you made your goal. Don't go eating to much bad stuff. However, enjoy yourself completely.:thewave:

Thanks Sheree! I plan on trying to stick with some of the SBD on the cruise. However, I love dessert so I'm not skimping on that. I'll just eat one instead of two. If I gain weight, I'll start back on Phase 1 and take it off again.

Welcome, Solotraveler! You are going to find this board is full of support and great advice, so you have come to the right place! Good luck - you CAN do it!

Lori, hang in there! I'm going through Phase 2 myself right now and I am afraid to get on the scale (probably a good thing for me) because I don't want to become frustrated. I have not incorporated much more into my diet, but I did taste a piece of yummy, yummy chocolate cake today. YIKES!!!! :earseek: Please let us know what happens.

WeirdEyes, I am hoping for the success you had! I want that 20 clippie!!:Pinkbounc
