South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Thanks everybody for your wonderful support! I weighed again this AM and lost another 1/2 pound. That puts me one pound away from a 20 lbs clippie!!! I'm so excited! :hyper:

Sheila - I'm so excited for you! You are so close, just one more pound, you can earn that 20 pound clippiee!!!!! :)

Sheila, you must feel great. You will get that clippie in no time by the looks of things. We're here cheering you on:thewave:

Just checking in. This is the end of week 3, and I am down 8 lbs. Really enjoying Phase II. Still trying to not overdo the carbs. Eating oatmeal, lowfat-high fiber granola, or 1/2 high fiber bagel for breakfast. One or two fruits a day, but mainly the protein and veggies.

Going to Chicago to visit my Mom this week-end. Will try VERY hard to stay OP. I don't want to undo what I have already accomplished.

This board has been a great inspiration. Keep up the good work everyone!

have a safe trip leanne. Keep up the good work:bounce: :Pinkbounc

First, Shiela: hooray!! :Pinkbounc Leanne: great job!

Now, for me: bad, bad, bad. I was bad, very bad this afternoon. For some reason I grabbed a large handful of chips and had a slice of cake. Then I ate the dinner I had made for everyone else - pasta with heavy cream sauce and had half a regular Coke before I felt like I was going to explode.

I just don't know what happened! I think I may have done it from feeling sorry for myself (sigh). I guess tomorrow I have to be extra strict.

Have any of you had an off day and not ruined your success?

Leanne - I'm sure you'll do fine on your trip. You've already done so well. Congratulations on your 8 pound loss! :bounce: :bounce:

Cinderellafifi - I haven't eaten off plan (so far, crossing my fingers real tight) but I know that if you put the experience behind you and jump back on the wagon, you should be fine. Drink lots of water and if you are exercising maybe you could step up your routine for a few days. We are all here to support you!

I've got a question guys. I asked this on another SBD board and I want your opinion too.

When I'm on vacation in another 2 weeks, I was thinking about having some grits at the Crystal Palace breakfast buffet. My sister and I had some last year and they were absolutely fabulous! I don't want to eat off plan though. Does anyone have any info on whether grits are acceptable on Phase 2? Thanks in advance! :)

Wow, Lisa. You've got me there. I had to go dig out the old good carb guide. It says corn grits, 1/2 cup recommened is good. So, I guess just like oatmeal it is o.k.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I was when I came across this forum. Mostly out of curiousity, I wasn't sure what it was. Then I seen this post and I'm ever so glad. I am a wife and mother in mid-twentys. My ds is quickly comeing up on a year old. I have pregnancy weight that just wants to stay on. I keep thinking I should have just bounced back. I have a couple of friends younger than me and whos little ones are younger than ds who look as if they never were pregnant. I am a nursing mother and so I try to eat healthy but I am still very good at cheating. When I was married five years ago I fit into a size 2 wedding gown. We went to Disney World for our honeymoon and I have many pictures of dh and I with the characters on my walls. So I am constantly reminded of my once very slender figure. Dh says that I must remember that back then I had a little girls body(we married at 19) and I have since grown into a woman.

The last day of my pregnancy I weighed in at 184 pounds. I now weigh 165. My ultimate goal is to be 130 pounds. But for right now my goal is to reach 148, that was my weight befor my son. (Dh and I also lost twins 4 years ago, a whole nother subject, but I still had weight from that pregnancy on when I concieved ds)

So I have a plan to eat better and healthier and have lost 11 pounds so far of course it's the South Beach diet. Just here recently I started slipping away. I don't know where I fell off course. I know this plan works I have the 11lbs lighter body to show for it. I need to get back on track and get serious. So tomorrow is a new day and I will get back on track. I'm glad I have a place to come and talk with others about this. It sounds like it will be a great support system outside of my family. Good luck to all. princess:

Welcome kaekae. Our goals are similar. I was trying to get back to 148, becuase that's where I was when we moved here. I topped out at 190 (way to much for a short person) when my daughter was born 5 years ago. I lost a little, but stayed at 183 for a long time. WIth SBD I've lost 28 pounds, and now at 155. This is a great plan to be on, and we are here encouraging each other every step of the way.

If you feel yourself slipping, come here, we'll try and help keep you from falling. Congrats on the 11 pound weight loss, and good luck towards the rest of your goals:cheer2: :cheer2:

Just checking in to say Hi, gang. I am facing a bit of a challenge this week as I am in San Diego for a Microsoft conference. There are a few other Microsoft Certified Trainers with me who are on SBD, and we are keeping an eye on each other and passing tips back and forth on what is safe to eat at this conference. So far so good - yesterday's lunch, for example, started with a delicious mixed green salad, followed by broiled salmon with couscous, leeks and aspargus. All washed down with iced tea sweetened with splenda. I think, with the support of my friends and colleagues here, I will be able to do okay when it comes to the eating part.

The real challenge comes from the fact that, for all of us trainers, this conference is a chance for us to spend time with lots of friends from around the world, and we are bunch of PARTY ANIMALS :bounce:  :tilt: :cool1: :drinking1 :rockband:
WAAAAAAYYY too much beer last night. :(

Wish me luck. I already told SWMBO that I will probably drop back to Phase 1 for a week or two when I get home.

Well, good luck Jerry. Sometimes that's what happens when we are away. We enduldge. That's alright. It won't undo what you've done. Have a safe and fun trip.

My check in is today, and I am down 3 pounds this week. Yeah. 2 more and I can claim that 30 pound clippie. I'm also rushing to make sure everything is ready for the trip. Have a good day everyone

Good evening SBDers!

kaekae - Welcome to our thread! This is a great place for encouragement. You can stay on track and we can give you support to reach your goal!

Jerry - It sounds like you have lots of support on your trip. We wish you well!!!

Sheree - Congratulations on your weight loss!! You'll be claiming your 30 pound clippie in no time!!!! Thanks for the info about the grits. I'm happy to know I can have them and still stay on plan. I'll be sure to stick to 1/2 cup.

Today was weigh in day for me and I'm down another 1.5 pounds which brings my total to 60 pounds! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I hope everyone is doing well! :)

Lisa, that clippie looks good on you. You are doing so great. I was thinking about taking my carb guide with me when I go to Disney. It just might come in handy. I hope your packing is going better than mine. My house is beginning to look like a mad house. Clothes everywhere. I'm trying not to forget anything. Just two more weeks.

Thanks Sheree and Leanne for the support!

Sheree - I haven't started packing just yet since I'm the only one going on this trip from my immediate family. My sister lives with my mom and she'll come to my house the night before the trip packed (hopefully). I am taking that Friday off to get any last minute shopping and laundry done and we don't have to be at the airport until early on Sunday morning so I've got Saturday to pack and run around like crazy. Now for our trip in November, that will be totally crazy as 10 of us try to get ourselves packed up and on the road! Thanks again so much for the info about the grits. It was really driving me crazy as to whether I coud have them or not. Have a great trip! :)

Hi everybody! All of you are doing sooo well! Welcome to the new members. :D

I have been soooo bad this week! We have been so busy that we haven't had time to cook. We are helping my brother move and packing for our cruise...we leave on Saturday. I weighed this AM and I haven't gained anything, but haven't lost either. I was hoping to claim that 20 lb clippie before the end of the week. Oh well, I feel great, look much better, and my 12's are getting loose! So, I should still be grateful! I've decided to lose 10 more lbs so keep your fingers crossed that I can. It might take me another 6 months though!

You guys are all great! Thanks for all of the support and encouragement. I can't say that enough! :sunny:

WeirdEyes- Have a blast on your cruise. Be sure that when you come back, you give us a full report on your trip. Have a safe one.:wave2:
