South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Shelia - have a great trip sweetie! We want to hear all about your cruise when you get back. I know you look fantastic in your size 12's. I'm also sure you will take off those last 10 pounds when you return. :flower1:

Yes! I lost 12 lbs as of today on the South Beach Diet. I have only been on for 2 1/2 weeks. I am still doing phase 1 for the rest of this week because I did "cheat" last weekend. My goal was to be down 15 lbs by my next WDW trip, so that is looking good! I would love to be down a total of 20 lbs if I could. So happy to finally find something that feels like an eating plan rather than a crash diet. I really haven't felt deprived except for the ice cream I cheated with. I do miss fruit and chocolate, but nothing major and I will allow myself some next week. Glad to have a place to share my good news. Congrats to everyone else on their successes. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Melissa-How wonderful. Don't you feel great. I'm sure you look great too. Keep up the great work.:jumping1: :thewave:

It's quiet out there. How is everyone doing? I hope all is going well. I'm still getting ready for our trip. DD bag is packed, my bag is packed. Guess who's bags aren't. THE MEN!!!!!!!!!! Oh well. I guess since ds is out of school for the summer after today, I'll have him in his room very, very busy.

Congrats to you Melissa! You must feel wonderful! Keep up the great work.

Sheree - you are right that it's been kinda quiet here on the Beach.

I'm finalizing stuff our trip and was talking to my sister last night. She is so excited that I can't tell who is looking forward to this trip more, her or me! I can't wait to show her the sights. I wish this countdown clock would move a bit faster.

I went to Lane Bryant last night to see if I could fit into the size 14's and couldn't. I was a bit disappointed at first but some friends on another board helped me to realize that I have come pretty far already and I've got to be patient. So I'm trying to do just that. I have gone from a size 26 pants to size 16 and that's something to be proud of. The size 14 will come - maybe once I hit onderland! Now that would be a nice treat!

I hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Lisa, 10 dress sizes! That is wonderful. You really should be proud. That 14 will come and then soon, no more women's sizes. I'm sure that you look fab in those 16's. I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!!!! You've come a long way.

I haven't come down but one. I went froma 14w to a regular 12. I say I lost 1/2 dress sizes. It feels good not to walk into a the women's department for clothes. Size 9 here I come. I haven't worn a 9/10 in 10 years.

Sheree - I think my progress sounds more impressive than it actually is. The way I count it, I've only lost 5 sizes counting from the size 26 pants (24, 22, 20, 18 and now I wear a 16 - I didn't count the 26, so maybe I'm not counting right?). I'm just very confused about the sizing of clothes. I actually tried on one 14/16 skirt and short sleeved sweater set and it was actually too big. Then I tried on an A-line size 16 skirt. The first one fit snugly and another brand, the same size 16 wouldn't zip at all.

I am proud of my size 16 slacks and noticed last week they were a bit loose so I think I had set myself up for disappointment and wouldn't even try on the size 14 pants after the fiasco with the size 16 skirts. Sizing is just so confusing!!!!!!

It is very confusing. I can put on some 12's and they are loose, others are a little snug. Then I can put on a size 14 skirt and it still fit perfectly. I tried on a pair of levi jeans 12, and they fit, I ty on Gloria Vanderbilt and I couldn't even get them close to closing. The 14's either, and then I put on a 16, they close, but fall all off because they are too big in the legs. Well of course I get the 12 levi's. I don't get it either. I just really look for clothes that fit. I listen to the women who work in the department stores and they say that it depends on the maker. I wish they could all get their stuff together, because it makes shopping so hard sometimes.

Thanks girls for the encouraging words. I am feeling really good.

I agree about sizes. I can wear one size in one brand and need a larger or smaller size in another brand. The other thing that bothers me are scales. My new one is weighing me 5 lbs heavier than my old one. I figure the new one is more accurate, but still use the old one to make myself feel better.

I appreciate the amazing stories here. Lisa, what an inspiration. And Sheree, you, too. You both take such care with others and encourage everyone. I need that. I may only need to lose another 10 lbs, but it is that stubborn 10 after a baby. My fourth child just turned 1 a couple weeks ago. Now it is time to reclaim my body. I gained a bit more with her than the others. The last 10 lbs to go now and they are in different places than ever before. Frustrating because prior to getting pregnant I was at my smallest ever. I was actually in a size 6 and some 4's. Thanks to South Beach I am back to an 8, but it would be sooo nice to fit into all the great clothes I bought before I got pregnant. If it doesn't happen, I am fine with it, but I really think another 5 and my 8's will be loose on me, and another 10 would put me back where I was. It's just tough to call because my weight is distributed differently now. But I know it is possible with all the great stories and encouragement here.

Way to go ladies. Thanks again. Sheree, have a great trip!

There are some really impressive losses here on the Beach!!!

Sheree - congrats on the Size 12 Levi's!:Pinkbounc

Lisa - After Size 26, wearing size 16 pants is an awesome accomplishment!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Congrats to you too, Melissa! Size 8's already!!!!!:Pinkbounc

I'm plugging away at it - 2 weeks now on Phase 2; weight loss has definitely slowed for me but with hypothyroid EVERY weight loss becomes a slow battle for me.

Down 13 lbs from my starting weight (lost 8 in phase 1 and 5 so far in phase 2.) This does seem to be a sustainable program for me though, so anything that doesn't make me want to cheat is GREAT!:Pinkbounc princess:

For everyone travelling soon - have a wonderful trip!

Arlene

End of week 4. Down 9 lbs. I put a pair of slacks on the other day that were a bit snug a few weeks ago, and VOILA they are now too big! I love that. One more pound and I will claim my 10 lb clippie.

The best part of SB is NEVER getting hungry or having those awful cravings. I am so motivated to reach my goal of losing 40 lbs. Then I will actually be the weight that is on my drivers license. ::yes::

Thanks to all on this board for their inspiring stories and motivation.

Melissa- Congrats. Any amount of weight you need to lose whether it is 150 or 10 is important to that person. I know you can do it. They always say the closer you are to your goal, the harder it is to lose. Just keep at it and I'm sure it will come off.

Arlene- 13 pounds is great. When you start intaking those good carbs, the body does slow a little, but every little bit helps. If it was easy to take off, none of us would be on this diet:teeth: Don't you wish that it was ::yes::

Everyone have a safe holiday weekend. I'm packing DS bags today. Now if I oculd just get DH packed, I'll feel accomplished.

Sheree - I'm so impressed you are packing already. I just found out today that our flight back home has been changed 3 hours later. Great because we can spend more time in Florida but I had no idea they had changed our flight. I wasn't planning on spending our last day at park but since we don't leave until 7:00 pm, I'm definitely planning on it now. I'll start packing sometime next week. The time is going by quickly isn't it? Have a great weekend!

Melissa - thanks for the compliment. I am working hard and it's tough sometimes but most days I don't feel like I'm on a diet and that makes this easier. Congrats on the size 8! I hope to be an 8 someday. Keep up the great work and we'll be here to support you every step of the way!

Arlene - thanks for the support. I really do appreciate it. This is a great place to keep motivated! Congratulation on losing 13 pounds. That a little more than a sack of 10 pound potatoes and those things are heavy! Keep it up!!!

leanne2255 - you are doing a great job! Losing 9 pounds is a wonderful accomplishment. Keep it up!

I hope everyone has a great weekend on the Beach. Let's all make good choices and get in some exercise where we can.

Just checking in to get my dose of encouragement..:teeth: I have been busy with a new job.
Congrats to all of you who are making progress!! It is awesome!! :Pinkbounc

I am in second week of Phase 2 and have not lost anything additional yet. I guess I still need to figure out what carbs work best for me. I have decided to cut back as of tomorrow and limit myself to one permissible Phase 2 food a day. Maybe that will help.

12 pounds to go...:earseek: !

Cinderellafifi- :wave2: Phase 2 can be tough especially when you add to many foods at one time. I've been ging through that myself this week. I keep experimenting with different things and have noticed a stall this week. Nothing moving at all. Makes me want to scream. I also need to try adding one thing at a time and then see how it goes

Everyone have a safe, fun and blessed holiday weekend.

Just began phase 2, so afraid it will stall my loss. I am allowing myself one phase 2 food a day. So I won't be bored, but I am still closer to phase 1. I only have 25 days and I want 5 lbs off before my trip. I have promised myself I will make 95 % good choices on my trip, but allow myself a few treats. Not overboard, but I do want to enjoy my vacation. I can always go back to phase 1 for a week when I return, but with all that walking and taking care of 4 kids= I should be ok to indulge a little bit.:teeth:

Enjoy the long weekend everyone!

:cheer2: Claimed my 10lb clippie today! I have been waiting for the scale to move for the last few days, and this morning, it finally did. Must have been ALL of the yard work I did yesterday.

Hope everyone is enjoying the long week-end. I'm having fun on the "Beach"!

Howdy Gang!!!

Well, I am back from San Diego and the Microsoft conference. I did pretty well, considering all I had to drink while I was there. As I mentioned before, the folks I hang out with at these conferences are a bunch of party animals, and this was no exception. So, I gained back three pounds. I am not too worried as most of it is water weight (I can feel it). I will get back into full blown South Beach mode this week. As it was, the conference planners did a great job with the breakfasts and lunches and snacks to keep them friendly with lots of dieting styles. There was always plenty of water and diet sodas available. Lots of fresh fruit for those that did not want the junk food they put out.

Then they put out the little freezers full of Hagen Daz (sp) Ice Cream Bars!!!.

Looks like things have been busy around here - I have some catching up to do.

welcome back Jerry. It's alright, three pounds is not a bad gain especially if it is all water. It looks like you won't be home long, then it's off to Disney.

Jerry - welcome back! Sounds like your conference was a hoot. I'm sure you'll get rid of those 3 pounds in no time.

leanne2255 - Congratulations on that beautiful 10 pound clippie!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!

Today is weigh in day for me and I'm down 1.5 pounds. I have also lost 10 inches in the past month and my shoe size has gone from a size 9 when I first started SBD to a size 7-1/2! Tuesday will be six months since DH and I have been on SBD and we have lost 126 pounds together. Woohoo!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks so much to you all for being an inspiration and offering such wonderful encouragement!
