I never see anyone talk about this attraction...did anyone else find it to be a huge waste of time and completely un-Disney like? Are there any plans to revamp this embarrassment and put something worthwhile in its place?

I found it mildly amusing...worth the air conditioning and the opportunity to sit down for 20 minutes in the dark(snooze time)

We tried this once with 4 kids, one of them was a baby. It was way too dark! None of them liked it and the baby got scared. It was the only time we had to walk out of anything at Disney. It will be a long time before we try it again, if ever! I feel it is pretty un-Disneylike too!!

laceemouse, how could you have walked out? (Not that I blame you.) But it is pitch dark in that auditorium for such a long time.
When it was over, my mom, sis and I looked at each other and said, "Huh?"

sounds dangerous is a nice, refreshing break from the heat & crowds, but to my husband it is an oasis! (he does his best napping here, in the dark, without the headsets!)

I enjoyed this attraction......I will compare it to reading or watching a movie.....I love to read and the movie never holds up to the book - why? Because when reading the book I get to use my imagination and decide what I think the characters look like, etc. In the movie they do that for you and you are just zoning out watching something put before you. Drew Carey Sounds Dangerous allows you to use your imagination - even if it is a cheesy storyline that they use - I will agree that it isn't what I would call a "child friendly" attraction. However if I remember correctly they warn you that most of it takes place in pitch black and if your child is scared of the dark it isn't an attraction to take them too.

I loved it, I get kinda bored with movies but with this your mind is going. Its also nice to sit down in the cool dark for 20 mins. Plus I LOVE Drew Carey

I'm with hucifer. I thought it was a waste. The 20 minutes of AC and dark, however, were appreciated.

This one I would rate as just OK. I enjoyed it a little when I saw it the first time but wouldn't bother to go back for me. DS likes it though because he uses his imagination (his words) so we see it during each trip.

We liked it and thought it was pretty funny. However, overall it's on our "B" list for things to do at MGM.

We enjoyed it. When u leave the theater there are private rooms in the lobby that have alot of cool sound effects in them.

We always make it a point to "see" this. We usually take my MIL with us; she's blind, and it's the only attraction where we're all on the same level!!:D

But we'd go anyway, even if she weren't with us.

I had no idea this attraction was received somewhat favorably by some. While I realize that Disney attractions fall in different WOW scales, I figured this was one that was mutually disliked. Goes to show what works for one person doesn't guarantee it will work for another.
:o

While we didn't care for the movie, the room that you walk through to get out was kinda cool. We ended up spending some time in there to get away from the crowds. My daughter had fun recording her voice as Snow White and I was the wicked stepmother. They also had little booths you could go into and put headphones on and listen to programs.

Wendy, Just noticed that you're preparing for your hubby's first Disney trip.

HOW FUN!!!!:teeth: Can you spell v-i-d-e-o c-a-m-e-r-a??:teeth:

We did 2 years ago and didn't really like nut the next year we did still did it. I don't really like it either.

I don't think Sounds Dangerous is a great show, but it is entertaining, cool, and a nice respite from the heat. The Death of a Salesman sound show was much better, though. And I was sorry to see the nearby "SuperStar Theater" show (with Lucy and the GOlden Girls) has been discontinued...it could have been updated some...but it was fun.

And that's the beauty of Disney! I was shocked to find everyone didn't like the fish at Rose and Crown........

Donna in Oz,

You have no idea how excited I AM!!!! We do not have any children, and he's SUCH a little boy at heart. Mind you, he's skeptical about WDW. So I feel like I'm taking my child with me...I can't wait to see his face when he finally sees the World with his own eyes!!! :bounce:

Plus, I plan on doing the rehitching ceremony at the Garden Grill with him...unbeknownst to him of course! ;)

Back to Sounds Dangerous...DH and I love Drew Carey...so that's one reason I was so disappointed in this attraction. I imagine he would be too when he sees it!

We went for the first time in years this past August. I was totally disgusted by the "housekeeping" of the attraction. The seats were either broken or torn, the headphones were, well, they just were, there was an odor I couldn't identify. Let's just say it's a big pass for our family!
