Sometimes ya gotta put it all in perspective...

In my experience, these kinds of things happen far more often than you hear about. Complaining is just such a carthetic experience it seems sexier to do. But in general people are mostly a decent lot. I'm frequently offered a helping hand as I go about my day. One of the curses of looking visibly disabled is that you get noticed a lot. My mom taught me long ago to thank people and reward their showing their kindness. I caught the bug and now am quick to offer a helping hand to others, usually with information. Life is a much better experience that way. (And this comes from someone who deals with pain and limited mobility daily.)

It is just much easier to show such kindness and good will in Disney World since everyone seems to have a reason to be happy. No work or school grind, just vacation. The best CMs get the guests involved with this "spreading the magic" too. Like last night at Spectro. One of the CMs started passing out Mickey stickers as "tickets". Then she recruited a volunteer from the wheelchair section, did him up with sticker banner, sticker tie, sticker hat and had him walk along the crowd handing out sticker tickets. He had a blast and everyone laughed. Helped pass the time as we waited and the weather got colder.

What a great story! Some of my favorite memories are of WDW bus drivers.

One driver on the Beach Club route one night was doing a trivia contest. He rode with a large stuffed Eeyore next to him, and each person to get an answer right got to hold the Eeyore until the next right answer. It was a lot of fun.

The funniest ride we ever had was one night coming back from the MK to Port Orleans. It was closing, the bus was packed. Most people were a little grumpy. The driver started doing a safety spiel like they do on airplanes. It was hilarious. I don't remember much, but my favorite part was "In case this bus makes a water landing a small child can be used as a flotation device. In case you did not bring a small child, use someone else's."

Everyone got off both of those busses laughing.

And even better to hear about everyone being willing to be patient - and maybe remember how blessed they are.

Great story, I would bet that eveyone of us has something go wrong on every trip, usually it's funny a few weeks after the fact. but I rarely get upset about it because there is so much magic going on around us at
WDW. Had my DD wedding there in Jan the CM's at Disney did everything possible to make it the most magical event of the DD and SIL and our lives.

Just a side note even in Feb Florida sun and chemo do not mix, hope the guest with the chemo was covered well.
