Hello gang...
I wasn't really sure where to post this....but I thought I would try here.....

For the past few years when Mom and I have gone to WDW I try to plan a special Surprise for her...

One year it was dinner at California Grill just in time to see the fireworks and we had a window table.

Last year it was a carriage ride before the Hoop De Doo....I like to try to make her vacation extra special....

Well this year I can't think of anything....we are going on the Silver Plan, so we will have wishes for dinners so I really couldn't think of a special dinner since it is included....

I have thought of the Cinderella's white chocolate slipper or the chocolate Mickey for dessert, but she doesn't like white chocolate, so that is out....LOL

Does anyone have any ideas? perhaps something special that you planned for your family??

Thanks in advance!

how about a spa treatment or a manicure/pedicure. or afternoon tea at the floridian. would she be interested in a behind the scenes tour? there are quite a few to select from. those entail a lot of walking. hope this helps!

LOL the funny thing is we do have one nice day planned which includes....The Keys to the Kingdom tour, a Spa Treatment, dinner at Fultons and Cirque.

And we have already planned the Afternoon tea!!
I think it is going to be hard to find something we don't already have planned!!!!

Thanks for the thoughts, even if I can't find something, I think this thread might help others think of something special....
Ohh yeah and we are already hoping to book an Illuminations cruise!!

what about tickets to Cirque de Soleil? My DH and I loved it last time we saw it. The performers were really good and there's not a bad seat in the house.

Also what is the Keys to the Kingdom Tour? What does it include? My DH might really like this next time we go.

We already have that planned, I mentioned it in the previous post....the reason we have so much already planned is because of the silver plan, Cirque is 2 wishes (you get 2 per person per day) and they offer most tours, and they are 2 wishes as well.

Keys to the Kingdom is a MK walking tour, here is a link for alot more info then I can give...LOL

Thanks for the information. Sorry I missed the part of your post aobut Cirque. It sounds like yall are already going to have a great trip.

Try the Segway tour at Epcot. It's fairly new and a lot of fun. I did it in February and had a blast. Fairly unique amongst all the tour available. Plus, no walking!

How do you feel after standing up straight for that long? I remember hearing someone say you can feel stiff.

My mom is 65 years old so I wasn't sure about this with her.

Thanks for the tips!!

You really don't have to stand all that long on the tour. You do about an hour of practice and then get a break. On the tour about halfway in, you can get off for a picture break. It's not too bad. My dad is 64 and had no problem with the tour when we did it.

Yes I think we are...it is too bad I have told her about the things we are doing...LOL

If I just kept a few things to myself they would be surprises....the night we went to the cali grill, we got dressed up and went on the resort Monorail from MK, we went around a few times before getting off because I wanted to build up the surprise element, every time the monorail would stop she would look at me to see if that was where we were going....it was fun, I told her that was the surprise....just riding the monorail all night in our nice clothes!!

Last year when we did the carriage ride, the plan was to get to Hoop de doo early, and just wander over and "surprise" we are going on the horse and carriage, but it didn't work out as planned...we got there too early and she saw the hay ride and said "why don't we go on that since we are early"
I couldn't tell her no, and we were really early for both the carriage ride and Hoop...so we went on the hay ride and then got off and went over to the carriages....

there was a mistake because a couple wearing bride and groom ears were in the carriage already and it was reserved for me....the gentleman that was the driver told me he saw the hats and assumed they were the next reservation.....so he had to take the champagne out of their hands (which I didn't order, so it wasn't ours they were drinking...LOL) and tell them if they wanted to ride they needed a reservation, I felt bad for them, they were taking pictures together in the carriage and all....but it was a surprise for mom so I wasn't going to let the reservation go....

It was still a really nice ride and I would love to do it with DH one day if he ever goes to WDW with me...LOL
Mom and I both love it and he is so so about it (I just can't understand that) so he doesn't usually want to go....

Sorry this ended up so long!!

Great!
THanks for the tips, we might try this....and if I plan it, I will keep my yap shut and use this as the surprise!

How about trying to get a PS for England during a Illuminations show

We actually had Rose and Crown on our list of Must do....

What time would you have to have a PS for? and I assume you ask to sit on the patio?

That would be a great idea, since I did the fireworks a few years ago....

I love these ideas everyone is coming up with!:hyper:
