hi!

I have a girl and a boy and am planning a trip to WDW.
I found something special for my d to do- the hannah montana makeover @ BBB. What is there for boys that is around the same price ($110)?

thanks,
tori

What about the pirate cruise? My kids are little so we havent done it but I have read about it on here

It seems the girls are more expensive than boys. When our DS was 7 we did (actually both he and DD then 5 went) the pirate treasure hunt cruise. A few different resorts on water do them with slightly different names. We did the one at Y&B because DH and I could stroll boardwalk or visit Epcot for the few hours the kids were occupied. Since DD gets some accessories with her SuperStar Makeover, perhaps you could send DS on the cruise in a pirate outfit. Note that when we did it, everyone got a pirate bandana. I wouldn't let him (and I doubt the CMs would either) cruise with a sword or hook or other thing he'd have to carry or hat that would blow off, but he could leave those things with you at the dock or you could meet him when he returns to "complete" his "pirate training?"
Depending on personality of your DS, you could get the spiked and colored hair deal at the Main Street Barbershop. They don't do reservations, so you have to stand in line and/or be very early. I've seen boys with buzz cuts who got a bright red mickey icon emblazoned onto the back of their hair. I think it's cool, but my DS will be 10 next trip and says he'd want to kill anyone who dared pay to have such a thing done to him... :rolleyes1

thanks for your ideas!

is it just me, or does it seem like there are a lot more thngs for girls to do than boys?

Depends on your definition and what your kids each like to do. As my DS mentioned he's not into makeovers, but DD is fine with pirates and fishing (DS and DH could go on a fishing excursion too...) and all rides for which she is tall enough. Now if DD was always in girlie-girl mode then the adrenaline rush things would be for DS...
Of course, my DD would want to do these too, but it just occured to me that WDW should branch out and do more than pirates for boys. They could do sports workshops based loosely on the old Goofy shows, there should be an afternoon as a space ranger with Buzz. Oh well, they didn't ask me...
They have added Jedi training (again, no appointment just be early and lucky) at the Studios. Our DS likes to buy StarWars and lego stuff (somewhat?) unique to WDW. He'd rather have stuff than experiences.

As a mom of three boys-I have found out that WDW is much more girl orientated. What does your son like? They have build your own light saber at the market place and more Star wars stuff at the Studios Star Wars ride. Two of my sons have been on the pirate cruise and liked it but were not crazy about it(if you know what I mean). If he likes swimming, take him to a water park. My oldest son actually liked the cooking class better than the pirate cruise-I think because he did that alone without his little brother tagging along. If you could do something special-just with him-he will love it. Also planning of taking DS golfing-7 is a little young for the 9 hole course but they do have a great mini-golf place by the Swan and Dolphin. DisneyQuest is also a great place for boys. Give him a few choices and let him pick-I'm sure all of you will have a great time.:yay:
