Have fun at your breakfast! So where are we all going to move to? Georgia, Florida, South Carolina?

I vote Fla. I need to live close enough to the Motherland to make DAY trips :thumbsup2 Todd keeps telling me about houses for sale in his area....

I guess a good thing they can wait in the house cause thier bus stops in front of the house but thats kids for ya they never listen:lmao:

Lucky. Bubba has to walk to the next street over....not that it's far, but a good 2-3 minute walk...and some days, that short little walk is COLD!

barb - as cold as it is your plan is making lots of sense to me, only time i'm toasty in the winter it seems is in a tanning bed...

:goodvibes feels like summer ANYday being in a tanning bed....

.....then again #1700, talking about beer, that is a good one....right??!!?? :lmao:

::yes::

So, I applied to several places online and NOT ONE has called or e-mailed me back in any manner. No "we'd like you to come in for an interview" or "we're not looking at this time" or anything. :confused3 Most also use that unicron personality thing. Ack.

Now here's a baffler: I applied online for Universal. Again, no contact. I find out that they're having a job fair next week, as they need people, yet no contact! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

:confused3 You just have to keep trying..... Maybe Universal is waiting for the job fair ;) Take a resume over like Lori said.... Don't worry...something will happen.... at least you don't have to worry about rent or a child support payment :thumbsup2 Things may be tough now...but, it's always 'worse' before it's 'better' :wizard:

I've been on a book attack as well.

I'm on book 6 of Harry Potter already.

I think I'll watch the HP movies instead of reading the book.....just so I have a clue when HP opens at UO. :rolleyes1

who knows. I'm sure it was ear infection & fever caused it to burst. It will heal naturally. She seems to be feeling fine now. Strange thing is she finished antibiotics for her strep throat last Thursday. How in the world did she get another infection bad enough to do that in 2 days?:confused3

Guessing the last infection wasn't totally gone? :confused3 :headache: OR the meds didn't do what they were supposed to do?

Jr. had constant engine trouble last year. Had lots of races he couldn't finish because of it. She just is not putting the money in to it to actually stay competitive. It wouldn't surprise me if they end up loosing sponsors & such if she doesn't make some major changes.

The drivers are Martin Truex Jr. - major sponsor Bass Pro Shops/Tracker; Paul Menard - major sponsor Quaker State/Menards; Mark Martin - major sponsor Principal Financial Group/Army.

Personally I don't know why any big name driver would go race for her with what she did with Jr. & how little she is doing to improve their engine program.

Okay...that makes sense...thanks...altho, I don't see why anyone would WANT to drive for her if she's not maintaining the cars? :confused3 Them guys ain't too bright?

I love Margaritaville! Maybe we should choose it for our dinner so Lawrence has to give it another chance!

while I love it...it's not a good place for a meet :sad2: It's too loud.... Todd would probably agree...it was difficult to carry on a conversation ...at least where we were sitting anyway.....just too much background noise.... Aiming for something 'quieter'...... which ain't always easy at CW :rolleyes1

:sad2: Not gonna happen! They told me I needed to start getting a flu & pneumonia shot after I got sick last year. That isn't going to happen either.

me either....never got a flu shot, never intend to :snooty:

:scared1: Protect your brains everyone! :scared:

:jester:

:rotfl: ,i come to suck your brains.... i off'd Belize...insert evil peep chortle...aka shameless plug for TR;)

i'm stuck on HP #3-not sure why...not like i don't know what's going to happen:confused3

got call from library that S. King's new tomb(i mean tome lol) is waiting for me - Duma Key...anyone read it?

big old positive on that   we have them here at our distributor :woohoo: :woohoo:

sorry barb - my 2000th post will be a milestone one.....then again #1700, talking about beer, that is a good one....right??!!?? :lmao:

if it ever gets above 30 degrees i shall go forth & capture some.:thumbsup2

barb - crib - tricia's preggie?:rotfl: jk...trying to get the sickie to smile a bit. hey, doesn't your bubba live on hot dogs & pizza;)

i'm making chili, alternate menu hamburger/left over steak (what am i...a lunch lady?)

But what about those himacanes?

Lucky. Bubba has to walk to the next street over....not that it's far, but a good 2-3 minute walk...and some days, that short little walk is COLD!

Poor little guy.

I think I'll watch the HP movies instead of reading the book.....just so I have a clue when HP opens at UO. :rolleyes1

Me too. They are way to long to read!

Guessing the last infection wasn't totally gone? :confused3 :headache: OR the meds didn't do what they were supposed to do?

I think our bodies are building up an immunity to our medicines. :scared1:

Okay...that makes sense...thanks...altho, I don't see why anyone would WANT to drive for her if she's not maintaining the cars? :confused3 Them guys ain't too bright?

You got me, especially with a well known, top notch driver like Mark Martin.

while I love it...it's not a good place for a meet :sad2: It's too loud.... Todd would probably agree...it was difficult to carry on a conversation ...at least where we were sitting anyway.....just too much background noise.... True!

;)

:rolleyes1

Well...it's 250 pages....we did 100 in ABOUT a month....So, I'd say by Easter...new crib :thumbsup2

We did that 100 pages in 15 days! :rolleyes1

:rotfl: ,i come to suck your brains.... i off'd Belize...insert evil peep chortle...aka shameless plug for TR;)

got call from library that S. King's new tomb(i mean tome lol) is waiting for me - Duma Key...anyone read it?

I have already been to the trippie today. Will go back and see what else you added since then.

Steven King creeps me out. I can't read his books or watch his movies. :scared1: He did write a book many years ago for his daughter. The title was "The Eyes of the Dragon". It is a fantastic, non-horror book.

if it ever gets above 30 degrees i shall go forth & capture some.:thumbsup2

barb - crib - tricia's preggie?:rotfl: jk...trying to get the sickie to smile a bit. hey, doesn't your bubba live on hot dogs & pizza;)

Sometimes it does seem like that is all we are, doesn't it!

:rotfl: ,i come to suck your brains....

i'm safe!

actually...i don't have 'time' to SIT and read :confused3 Movies go much quicker for me :goodvibes I don't need the 'in depth' from the HP books...just an "idea" of what's what..... where's damo and her cliff notes?

hey, doesn't your bubba live on hot dogs & pizza;)

he would if i let him :headache: (that and don't forget the 'girled' cheese :teeth: )

Okay you lovely people...I MUST go to the bank and the pick up some stuff at the store....stopping by work to tan too :goodvibes (going to try to get a session of Hydration Station in....gotta see for myself how this thing works...if they want me 'sell' it ;) )

catch you laters.......

But what about those himacanes?

Oh...I forgot to quote this.....

I don't mind hurricanes. I plan to live more "inland" so as to not be 'as' bad. Here's my thinking..... I would gladly trade 6+ months of cold/can't go outside for 10 months of yes I can go outside and risk a hurricane or two... You can prepare for a hurricane and usually after it's gone, it's still warm out :goodvibes ...granted there is no ac, but I'll take the trade! :thumbsup2

I called the employment line and basically got an eff U. The operator said (rudely) that I would "be contacted only if there is any interest." The way she spoke = unpleasant.

Hi. Just popping on to say hello, I'm alive, and thanks for your emails and PMs to find out why I was missing! :goodvibes

Truth be told, Mike and I are dealing with some major crud pie at work, and I just haven't felt like posting here cuz my mood has been really sour, and I didn't want to spoil anything or bring down the thread.

I thought about posting several times, but I'd type it up, and then think, "Who in the sweet hell wants to hear this?!" Or, I'd think, "Do I really want this up for all to see on what my mother calls the Inter-web?" :rotfl:

So, hi, I'm here. I'm alive. I've done some half-butt reading .. but you know how I am with that. I believe I gave myself an infinite supply of free passes though, right?

:confused3 help! again Oh....and here's a question.....since Dale Jr. beat it from the witch...who is driving for her team now....and what is the number and main sponsor?

My head it fuzzy, but I'll try. One of the reasons Dale Jr tried to re-negotiate his contract at the beginning of last season was so that he could have more ownership of his car... and would, therefore, have more control over what went into and was done to his car. He said (very politely) that he didn't feel that his team could be competitive with the current setup. There were several races last year where Dale Jr was in the top 10, only to have engine trouble knock him out.

Mark Martin was contracted with Ginn Racing. I want to say he is in the second year of a three year deal. Ginn Racing sold out to DEI (including Mark's contract). Mark didn't choose to drive for the witch... he got sold to the witch.

Hey Jodie!

And, HELLLOOOO? Since when is this not the dumping ground for all the crud in our life?

We're back from the doctor's office. Dr Broomstick was in rare form. He actually smiled at the boys and made some jokes. Not good jokes, mind you, but he tried. Daniel has an ear infection and Joshua has a sinus infection. They'll be on antibiotics for a few days.

I've rescheduled Joshua's MRI to next Tuesday. I called and told them what the doctor said, and they felt it was best to postpone the test for a few days.

I'm going to go rest again.

Lucky. Bubba has to walk to the next street over....not that it's far, but a good 2-3 minute walk...and some days, that short little walk is COLD!

We're lucky in where we're situated that from our back doorwall we can see the road that the bus goes down, turns around and comes back. So my kids can watch for the bus and either when they see it pass the first time, walk casually out to the stop (which is only one house away), or wait until it's coming back and then sprint out the door. Personally, when it's below zero, I'd always go for option 2, but they pretty much always use option 1, so that "they don't look like dorks running"! :confused3

Steven King creeps me out. I can't read his books or watch his movies. :scared1: He did write a book many years ago for his daughter. The title was "The Eyes of the Dragon". It is a fantastic, non-horror book.

Agree with all this - I used to read him in high school, and still can scare myself at night by thinking of some of them (Salem's Lot comes to mind!). But I read Eye of the Dragon and so did all my boys and really enjoyed it.

So did you talk to Dr. Broomstick about YOU? Or is he only a ped? Thought you'd seen him in the past. Glad you were able to reschedule the appt, and that you're getting some much needed rest!

Okay, it's really boring here at work, so some basement pics. This was our effort to make the basement a bit liveable so DS15 could actually have his friends over and have somewhere to hang out. The first one is the new futon area, complete with the new TV and Xbox360:

The pool/pingpong table area:

Does it look slightly reputable at least? :confused3

Keep that Xbox 360 cool! You do NOT want to risk the RROD! And make sure you have the 3year warranty on it.

marci - big k'nex fans i see...they don't hurt as much as legos when you step on them in the middle of the night:thumbsup2 what's up with the basements that are more organized than my house is:confused3

bored, called SIL & invited her to Easter dinner...said she doesn't know what she's working, will call me a day or so beforehand:eek: @ least it will motivate me to clean up the hovel

jodie - swing away!

i like being scared silly, it's all in the upbringing:upsidedow ...creeps me out how mr king always puts young kiddos in peril - think pet cemetary

Just spent an hour reading....guess i gots lots of ketchupin' to do:headache:

No kidding! I'm quickly discovering that I need to check in 4 or 5 times a day to stay caught up. :surfweb:

Love that holiday thank goodness I am irish :woohoo: . Need that fix of cornedbeef and cabbage once a year :yay: . Anyone else doing St. patricks dinner ??

Corned beef - yes
cabbage- no
potatoes - yes

all in the crock pot - if DH doesn't smell it on St. Patrick's day, it just ruins the day for him (DFIL is the same way) :lmao:

I have Irish ancestry, along with many others. My family is a potpourri of nationalities. My dad had red hair, & fair skin, so he looked the part. I have very fair skin, with blond hair. It's hard to believe my dad's great grandmother twice removed (is that right?) was an Indian Princess. You'd never know it by looking at us. :confused3 Anyway, she married the Irishman.

I've never prepared a special meal on St. Patty's Day. I think I'll do that this year for my DS. Thanks for the reminder. :thumbsup2 Any recipes or tips are welcome! :teeth:

I'm gonna die.

Don't do that! :flower3: I'm just now joining the party. We want to keep you around.

So where are we all going to move to? Georgia, Florida, South Carolina?

I vote Fla. I need to live close enough to the Motherland to make DAY trips SIZE="1"]Todd keeps telling me about houses for sale in his area....

Florida gets my vote too! :sunny: Then again, I live here & don't want to move. ;) Does my vote still count?

Hope not either cause its been tough when she sick and trying to keep DS's healthy cause they won't wear thier jackets cause they only want to wear their hoodies but I guess a good thing they can wait in the house cause thier bus stops in front of the house but thats kids for ya they never listen

Don't you just love teenagers. My DS insists on wearing his hoodies, when it's 85 degrees outside. :sad2:

actually.....we can sign up for solar-electric and won't cost us nearly as much

How do you do that? Saving money always sounds good to me. :teeth:

You'd think.... But, DH has a few uncles in Fla., his brother, his Dad.... We've been down in Feb. for our niece's wedding....it's never ending....I can come up with LOTS of 'family' reasons to go to Fla...and there is ALWAYS an adult or grownup cousin in the family that will take the littler kids to the theme parks for awhile...just to 'get out' ...so, I never have to worry about Bubba blabbing about riding Hulk 20x in a row

Gotta love the big cousins! :rotfl:

okay...I know I missed all the recipe ideas that were thrown around...but, here's my thoughts on this: fix YOUR family dinner and anyone else who wants to stay, eats what you cook. Period. Why are you trying to accommodate other people's kids? If they don't like what you make...they can go home ;) Just my Bubba eats what we eat....I would not fix something special for him...let alone his picky friends But, sounds like you got an awful lot of good ideas for some homecooked meals ...when's the 'homie dinner party'?

My DS eats whatever I fix too. I'm lucky in the fact that he really eats anything. I just hate the thought of sending a kid home hungry.

SIZE="3"]Been to Margaritaville. Been to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Margaritaville is WAY better than CIP. Lots like the nachos (appetizer) I love the quesadillas (appetizer I eat as a meal!) I don't think you'll be disappointed...in fact, Lawrence is the only person I "know" that didn't have a good meal/experience there.... :confused3 Lawrence, I think you need to give them another shot

Don't feel bad Lawrence. You're not alone! We don't like Margaritaville either. (shhh... I know that's blasphemy on here) We do like the one in Key West though.

And you are better than I. They'd get PopTarts here

Actually, my DH is better. I always sent him on the doughnut run. :rolleyes1

Who knows. I'm sure it was ear infection & fever caused it to burst. It will heal naturally. She seems to be feeling fine now. Strange thing is she finished antibiotics for her strep throat last Thursday. How in the world did she get another infection bad enough to do that in 2 days?

Poor baby. I didn't realize a bursted eardrum would heal naturally. That's good news! I'm glad she's feeling better now.

I think I'll watch the HP movies instead of reading the book.....just so I have a clue when HP opens at UO.

I'm with you! ::yes::

while I love it...it's not a good place for a meet It's too loud.... Todd would probably agree...it was difficult to carry on a conversation ...at least where we were sitting anyway.....just too much background noise.... Aiming for something 'quieter'...... which ain't always easy at CW

Pat O's patio would be a nice place for a meet, if you don't go during the hottest part of the day.

Dark Marauder, (I really need to learn everyone's real name.)
I hope you find a job soon! :goodvibes

BTW, where do you all get the great smilies?

i dont like snakes ,bugs, gators, dogs , skunks, or even lizards of any slithering kind
and BIRDS.......:scared:
freakin' tiki bird show still has me screaming......dont like totem poles either. we went in....sitting next to what i thought was a support beam, turned out to be a moving totem pole, screamed my head off.....was traumatized for at least 30 minutes. go ahead and laugh. the whole damn place did.

Since you gave us permission..... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It's okay, I can laugh. You should see me, when I see a snake. Even a fake one. :scared1: :faint:

I called the employment line and basically got an eff U. The operator said (rudely) that I would "be contacted only if there is any interest." The way she spoke = unpleasant.

Why? Why she got a stick up her bum? :confused3

Good to see you. Sorry about the crud pie at work  ...at least you have each other.... :rolleyes1 (like Tricia, looking for positives here) Feel free to dump...it's the hilight of most our days  What are friends for? Besides, if you're in a bad mood, how do we know to bring you out of it into a good mood??

And no...you do not have an "infinite" number of free passes missy
