I know what 'pole position qualifying' is....but that doesn't have anything to do with the 'shootout' thing yesterday, right?

Nope. That was qualifying for next Sunday's race.

Nite Barb. Looking forward to the pics tomorrow.

I have done my best to catch up here, you peeps sure can yak :)

I came down with some real bad bronchitis, and luckily got in to see my doc on Friday. But I had to do 2 out of town sound jobs witch lasted 12 hours each during this time, I am exhausted now. Trying to keep up with this thread is now my 4th job. Hope everyone is well, I am getting better, no more coughing up brown lumpy stuff  , thank God, that was awful, especially while on the job. I'll be hanging around, trying to keep up with you all ;)

mike, hope you are starting to feel some relief with the meds for your bronchitis. you don't want to go into pneumonia that's for sure.
so, we are number 4 on your list.

is that ahead of your wife and universal dreaming?

I think I would be marching my big butt into the payroll dept. at work (during their day hours) and gettin' some answers! It's totally ridiculous.....hope they can manage to stay in business with THAT kind of bookkeeping... (sic Jennifer on 'em!:rotfl: )

Raven....what connects you to the internet?

dsl connection.

and you don't have a big butt.
we saw your pictures before in that thong............:rolleyes1

So, does Dad not know you married Mr. Mac? Or does not approve of him? Or, KNOWS you married him, but forgot

As far as the dis barging into the bathroom...I'm . The rule in our house is, if the door is closed, ya don't enter...you knock. ;) People need privacy..... I even knock and ask Bubba if it's okay to come in.... (respect thing....give it....get it

i love your stories.....
yea, i told them we got married. they were present.
they are not as fond of mr mac as i am.
he has probably been around them less than a dozen times in all these years.

Okay....I'm ketchuped.....

The party went well.....the boys had a blast!!!

I played the first laser tag game (individual) with them...but not the second (played teams). It was really cool. You put on a vest with flashing lights at the center, the back and the shoulders...which is where other people aim at you. If you're hit, you're down 5 seconds...can't shoot or be shot. I wasn't even trying and came in 4th :headache: They have a huge room that is pretty dark with fog in it (so you can see your laser beam) and walls and mirrors. I found myself a corner where I could see the kids (but too dark to see faces and I didn't know who had what 'codename'....as it will tell you on your gun who hit you) coming from aside of me and in front of me. Same corner had a wall in front of me (think = I was "around the corner") with some "cut out" spots toward the top of the wall....MAJOR advantage to being tall....I just tippy-toed and shot thru the opening DOWN on my unsuspecting victims  Best part? I usually missed and then they'd run around the corner and get me All in all...a fun afternoon. Glad we choose the early time...just as we were packing up to leave, the power went out in the building and even the restaurant next door's too  They moved one party table out of the party room into the front of the store where there was sunlight coming in. Yep...glad we were leaving.... (Will post pix soon....)

As for Bubba...once his buddies arrived, he started feeling better. The fever hasn't come back today, and for as much running as he's done, he really hasn't been coughing. Altho, in better spirits now...I think he is losing his voice   This is kind of a new thing for him and he gets annoyed when he can't talk loud enough to be heard :rolleyes1

As for me....I think he gave me whatever he had....as I feel like I'm getting it. :headache: (that's okay...I rather ME than him )

sending you mummy dust so you start feeling better real soon.
hoping bubba gets his voice back by the morning.
sounds like a party us homies here would like to do............

glad you all had fun!

I would post a before picture but I am totally embarrassed of my MESS in my so called master bedroom . So I will only post after shots .

I will let all who are intrested in knowing about the sleep number bed how it is after we sleep in it a few nights . i can't wait till after everything is done. I was told by the sleepnumber people it takes a few weeks to adjust to the numbers . i am really sure it can't be any worse then what I am sleeping on now. After 3 kids and weight gain my mattress looks like a mountain range . One side for him and one for me and a mountain in the middle .

Going to work in the morning :teacher: grade 3 . Not so bad but it is the 100th day of school so there may be a party so it might get a little crazy .

Of caurse there is bowling after school and my DH is going to tutor a student so it all falls on mom to do the crazy driving around . . I am going to go to bed now . Yes ready for sleep at 8:10 at night it is a very sad life. i remember the days of going out at 10 PM. Now I am lucky if I even see 10 PM at night .

Night ,Night

i'm just getting going at the time you are hitting the hay.

try coffee.
a real picker upper.

I watched part of the grammy awards.
really.
i am now back here.
guess I saw enough.

i watched them also.
i knew all of them.

i was hoping the addict amy would win album of the year but didn't

came by to tuck y'all in

hope all the sickies feel better pronto

my glasses fell apart today, need to ge them fixed this week; can't see well outta old pair - if posts are weird for a while it's cause i can't proof them lol

tricia - DS said his guy came in #2 in qualifier (evidently a good thing - pole postion?) I just get the look when i ask race questions @ home, hope to get a basic overview this race season;)

barb - surely, i've trotted out the DS timeline of doom before?
*concussion #1 football
*hit by lightening (or shall i say the metal chain link fence he was hanging on while waiting for baseball game weather delay was hit); all the while I was @ another field miles away with youngest DS for teeball game.
*meningitus
*concussion #2 football
*hit & run while on bike from behind, witnesses said the guy never looked back
*persistent staph infection in leg where he got gouged by another players spikes, turned into cellulitus?; months of antibiotics & frequent hospitalization; resolved fully
*temporary paralysis from neck down during football game, he got speared; full function regained within hours
*passenger in car which flipped over, necessitating a life flight to hospital, nothing major - just kept him overnight
(there were several broken bones & another minor concussion i'm not sure where to insert in the list )
now, as a policeman; i just pray to God that his "good luck" will hold

Its supposed to be be -20 tomorrow am (assume they're factoring wind chill ) hope they delay or cancel skool.

it is already -25 here now with the wind chill. it is only -6 at this point without the wc. either way, it is cold.
ice inside my windows in the house.
brrrrr

your son is lucky. he'll be around for years, don't fret. he is a copper and copper's know how to take care of themselves.
i always age a few extra years when one of my son's are hanging by a thread.

Evening folks!

Haven't been around this weekend but....

SWIM SEASON IS OVER! :woohoo:

We ended on a high note, and went away with no regrets.

I will be able to return to my home in daylight for the first time since Sept.!!!!

Spring really is coming!

goodie goodie, kfish is coming back to play more with us.
what did you shave into bro's head this time?
and, did they name the boat yet?

first...without glasses....post looks good janet.... :thumbsup2 (you are just falling apart left and right out there, ain'tcha?)

I agree with the wind....HEY JANET! QUIT SENDING THE WINDY COLD TO ME......I DON'T WANT IT EITHER!

:rotfl:

Weather said it's 14 here and with the wind chill feels like -5 .... Not that it holds a candle to mac or marcie....but, that's pretty cold for us here in the mountains :rolleyes1

That's okay....i'm sorry....i get his pix up tomorrow. I don't blame you for being outside today with the nice weather....heck, I would be afraid to open an umbrella out ther today/tonite ...might fly away like Mary!!! :rotfl2:

I know what 'pole position qualifying' is....but that doesn't have anything to do with the 'shootout' thing yesterday, right?

Yay!! We have our KFed back!! :yay: We missed you!!!

Isn't Mr. Mac a CPA? Who would not want their offspring to marry a CPA?You get stability, fiscal responsbility. These are good qualities every parent wants for their child. :)

Katie - Congrats on your season! Hope to see you around more often.

Barb - Sounds like Bubba had a great party. We have a "fun place" here that also offers laser tag. The kids love it.

Its cold here 7 degrees with a wind chill below 0. The schools are on a 2-hour delay due to cold - no snow on the ground at all.

Glad to be home and back on my schedule.

:) Jennifer

I know what 'pole position qualifying' is....but that doesn't have anything to do with the 'shootout' thing yesterday, right?

Nope. The Bud Shootout is basically an exihibition race. Doesn't count toward the season or anything else. Of course, the guys who race make MONEY off the Shootout, but that's it.

Qualifying. Wow. It can get complicated, so let me just water it down. More guys in cars show up to a racetrack than Nascar will let in a race. Every race has 43 cars at the start... 21 rows of 2 cars with 1 car left alone at the back of the pack. So, lets say 70 cars show up for qualifying. They each get a turn (one at a time) to drive 2 laps around the track and the fastest of those 2 laps is recorded. The fastest lap time gets Pole Position (sometimes called Sitting on the Pole). Second fastest is beside them. Third fastest is Row 2, inside... fourth fastest is Row 2, outside... etc. Those who don't qualify among the 43 fastest, pack up their gear and head home.

There are a few more factors to who makes it into a race and who doesn't, but that's the basics.

Me too! So how's the surfing been lately?

Actually it happens every year. When I worked for Xerox it would last 4 -5 months every year. I think it was a reaction to fumes from the machines. It isn't as bad now but I still loose it every year. Actually whispering is worse, uses the vocal cords in a different way (according to a doctor I visited once when it was really bad). He is better off trying to stay completely quiet for a while, maybe use a note pad & pen.

That is actually pretty interesting to know.... he can talk almost fine if it weren't so hard to breathe.... waiting on the doctor's call.... :guilty:

we saw your pictures before in that thong............:rolleyes1

nah-uh :sad2:

so...who's the odd one...mr mac or the folks? I don't get it? You obviously love him...how can the folks not care for him? :confused3

Uh..I think it's time for new windows

We used to have that...this house was built with single pane, aluminum framed windows and even with the storm windows, they were drafty! There would be condensation on the inside of the windows and it would run down that window and the draft at the bottom of the window would freeze it all..... I had to put towels on the window sills to absorb the water! Anyhow, a few (4?) years ago, it was really bad...I mean chunks of ice freezing the windows shut. Decided it was time for new windows....besides, if your windows are frozen shut, it's a fire hazard

So, Bubba is worse today...going to the doctor later today. Have to call my Mom and get her butt outta bed and tell her to come up here and watch him while I go to work....don't want to call 'off' my first day :scared:

DH isn't feeling well OR having a good day at work....long story...and I think I am successfully fighting Bubba's cold off....well, at least after taking Advil for the pain behind my eyes and sore throat :headache:

*sprinkling mummydust over House of Bubba*

:guilty:

Hope everyone has a good day!!! ;)

I know I'm doing a bad job of keeping up around here. I hope you guys understand. I'm reading and keeping up, but life is pretty crazy around here.

Joshua woke up with the sniffles. I hope we can contain it to that. I have a scratchy throat, but I'm trying to convince myself that it is just from raking leaves in the windy air yesterday. Yes, we were raking leaves in February. We have a butt load of trees around our property and raking is an ongoing process. Just when you think you've gotten them all, a good windy day proves you wrong. Anyway, I've started the Zicam just in case.

I am going to try to get some more stuff done around here today. I just can't seem to get motivated. I think I have this fear that something is going to happen and we won't really be able to go... so, I keep not doing things that I need to do. It's like, if I clean and pack then I'm thinking we're really going... and I'm afraid we aren't going... so I don't do it. That doesn't make sense, does it?

I'm off to do laundry and see what else I can get into.

The 2 CPAs i know are responsible, hard working dudes...who still are wild & crazy guys after hours. Saw one of them @ a concert several years ago, kept offering me a nip out of his bottle of "water":lmao:

barb - :cool1: partee, laser tag is so much fun, especially the black light version.

Saw Amy Winehouse perform last night (believe she had a pass from rehab, looked rather poorly) while waiting for the news & our 2 hour delay, just enough to throw off the whole day;)

Did he go to skool? I hope that's all it is...the leaves and a 'cold'.....

I totally understand where you're coming from....but look missy...you ARE going to Daytona, so get yer stuff done! ;)

So? You DID get the delay you wanted! Good to hear!

(I think Winehouse is a rough looking gal..... :sad2: )

So....my Mom can't come up and take care of Bubba for me while I go to work (new job--1st day) for 4 hours! So, I called my client/friend Pat (the lady that was here for Christmas....the older one, like a Grandma)...she is coming up to help me out. I was so ticked at my Mom, I couldn't believe her priorities  I told her not to worry about me, he's my son and I will take care of it. (Also mentioned it was my first day and if I had to call off and they didn't want me, I'd go thru the unemployment filing and such....) She did call back later saying she tried to reschedule the appt. she has, but couldn't.... Told her not to worry, I took care of it. Can you believe this woman is going on vacation with us this summer?? :headache: Grrreeaaattttt....

Thanks for letting me vent! :grouphug:

i tend to like edgey singers/entertainers; interesting and out-of-the box...sure glad i don't have to deal with them personally though-too much baggage.:confused3 Think she is a hoot, she drug her mum up on stage last night and they seemed to be very close - your normal family underneath it all. Hope ms winehouse gets her act together.

forgot to thank ms tricia for the 'splaining:thumbsup2

i still don't get the whole team thing, strategy - although that'll probably be one of the last lessons.:goodvibes

okay-
before Tricia heads off for the big party
go to Nascar dot com if you dont already have a fav drive and pick one-
whomever you want

and we will see how they do for the year of course several folks may have the same driver(just pick one)
sound like a plan?
