Okay...8pm...time to head home...cya's there :thumbsup2 (maybe.... :rolleyes1 )

Thanks for the welcome Macraven. Long time listener, first time caller. This thread moves at the speed of light. I can't keep up with the players without a program. I tried to post earlier but made an "error" because my post count was too low. I better get that looked at.

Not Indiana. Actually it's between Shelbyville and Springfield on Cletus and Brandine's farm.

:rotfl: can we call you Plopper?

sharon - woo-hoo, jetting off to Ft. Lauderdale for the weekend! lucky duck

mother - (do you wanna bang heads with me...now i'll be humming that 'lil ditty the rest of the night); a reality show!!! I've done the honors (tossing ex's stuff out the door...although i put it in Hefty bags 1st-ha)

elmer - boffo pics! you know how to throw a party (doo-doo-doo-doo Blues Clues:dance3: ). Glad you mentioned making the cornbread for the stuffing; think i'll make that variety, plain bread one & a sausage type...we like to be stuffed. My ma used to make stuffing balls (think a meatball conconction baked in the oven-tasty; yet dry lol). Ma was poked & prodded for a very long time today, i feel as tho it's not going to go well...hope i'm wrong. What a sweet pic of your son talking to your sister, continued:goodvibes .

Barb - i like waiting for the "real" ads to come in and begin plotting my Black Friday attack, like to be surpised;)

I had so much nervous energy today I wrapped ALL the Xmas presents i had sitting in the DR:thumbsup2 ; now to finish buying. We got a Wii last year (which i have yet to play:confused3 ); jr. bought Mario Galaxy game today...looks like fun. Also bought Shrek for Thanksgiving viewing (hope it's good - anyone see it?) and my 1st present for DH:guilty: ; a DS brain game II-filled with sudoku puzzles...think he's getting gift cards this year.

think i'll catch "House" tonightpopcorn:: ; have a good one guys!

boy oh boy all you guys that live or are going to florida are a bunch of lucky ducks.
wish I was there right now.
use to live in st pete when I was little until mom got home sick and we moved lol:rotfl:

Live entertainment courtesy the house across the street this weekend.

:cool1: BETTER than Cops tv show..... Hope everything quiets down...nothin can rattle my chains worse than the "noisy" neighbors...

Giving up on the office job, huh? I didn't sound like a really comfortable or fun place to be anymore... if it ever was. Keep me posted!

Wellllll....not giving up, giving IN. Long story for another time, they are sort of "forcing my hand" at quitting, so should hear about a job tomorrow....if it's a 'go'...i'm outta there 3:30pm Monday! :thumbsup2

Katie - I wouldn't go near a shopping establishment on Black Friday if somebody paid me to. Wait. If somebody paid me a LOT, I'd consider it. Other than that, forget it. I'll just use the trusty old internet here and take advantage of the online sales-plus-free-shipping-deals. Let Santa come to me like he's suppose to. ;)

I'm about to run to the doctor's office to get my blood checked again. I've been on the prescription iron for a month now and I'm hoping the numbers look good. Carol's blood work numbers were extremely low when she went for her off week checkup and it looks like she might need blood. She'd rather use a known donor, so I'm hoping I can provide it!

When will you know your results? I hope you can donate to Carol... I wouldn't go shopping Black Friday either.....the crowds...just can't deal :sad2: Besides, I cook Thanksgiving and work that Friday, so, I sleep in (no skool) and go to work...no need to get up at midnight or the wee hours of the morning.... (There's not usually anything I'm looking for that's THAT good a deal anyway....)

Barb - Loved the video! I know how you feel about the goalie position. DS plays goalie in ice hockey. It took me years to stop feeling like he should save every goal. Sometimes I had to actually leave the stands, cause I felt sick to my stomach! Nowadays, I can watch without feeling too bad for him. This will be his last year playing I think. He's not sure if he's going to play in college.
Sounds like it might be good for you to quit that job. Too much stress!

Katie - glad you finally got on the DIS! Any new crafty projects going on?
Yep - my daughter and I hit up the mall on Friday morning after Thanksgiving at 1 am. They have "Rockin Shopin Eve". Bands playing, prizes and sales at all the stores all night long! We never buy much, but its something fun for a mother daughter night out. Even more fun now that she is old enough to have a drink with me!

Thanks for consuling me with the "goalie Mom" thing  Since he is going to be goalie in indoor soccer (this session AND next) and spring....I'm gonna need it. My nerves can't handle the pressure....and I am not even IN the game :scared: Glad to hear it's a "beginners" thing...... Your Mother/Daughter shopping spree sounds like fun! And...uh....drinking and shopping all night long....you got more stamina than I!!!! You go girls :woohoo: Also, hope your "hug" is talking to you again....hope yous have a fabulous trip (& take lotsa pix for us poor souls stuck home!)

Thanksgiving dinner... ugh... I don't want to think about it. I haven't recovered from the birthday yet, but I'll have to start making cornbread and such for the dressing by Monday. At least we get a free turkey from our grocery store. They have one of those deals where you get a point for every $45 you spend from the middle of October to the middle of November, and when you get 6 points you earn a free turkey. It's money I'm spending anyway, so I'll take the free bird!

It is ladybug season here. Ick. I have one of the little critters crawling up my monitor. Ladybugs are cute until you get them by the thousands. When we walk outside right now, they land all over you. :headache:

Hhhmmmm....Mom is outta the country for T-Day :scratchin ..think I'll make turkey breasts and have sandwiches....just the 3 of us...why bother gettin' fancy? :confused3

Tricia....my Mom gets those ladybug infestations too....but not this year! This year was "stink bug" infestation! :scared: What a pain...they were everywhere.... :sad2:

i'm not cooking on T day.
i'm making ressies for us.

will be back later gator........

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous day.

Tricia - lovin the pics. I hope your blood work checks out and you can donate to Carol. I can't believe you now have to cook for turkey day too.

Janet - Lots of prayers for you & mom. I hope everything checks out okay. And as for the inlaws commenting on your decorating...just tell em they don't have to visit if they don't like it. Sounds like you really do up a big meal for turkey day. Wow! I'm not really doing anything in the way of planning for DL. I should do something. I just would rather be going back to Florida. Got to thinking this weekend that Michael has been waiting to turn 16 so he can drive the watermice on Bay Lake. Now that he is 16 we could stay at VWL and get the family plan and he could ride them all he wants. Hmm, maybe that would work. I did see that there are places to mine for gold & gems in North Carolina so maybe??????:rolleyes1 I'll have to run it by him!

Barb - Sorry about the job but it sounds like it is for the best. You just don't need that stress. Loved the Bubba video. I'm sure he is gonna do great!

Tracie - Have fun redecorating! I am so glad that CBean is back in to somethign she loves. Ally has actually said she would like to get back to gymnastics but I'm afraid she has been away to long to be able to get back in to it. How are the other two beans? Is KBean still liking school?

Motherfletcher - Sounds like an exciting night. Glad I wasn't there to enjoy it!

Rose - How is Grandma doing? Hope Mathew enjoys band practice.

Spyderpig - Welcome! We do love to yak around here.

ky07 - Wishing I was on my way to Florida too!

Sharon - Have fun on your trip. Hope you & hubby have a terrific time. Sounds like the mother daughter shopping trip turkey day night is a lot of fun.

Katie - Hope your week is less frustrating than your weekend was. And no I am not a black Friday shopper, can't stand the crowds.

Mac - Glad to see you. I hope everything goes great with your ds tomorrow.

Gemma- Where are you? I hope you are staying safe. Pop in and say hi so we know you are okay.

Hi to everyone else. We miss you so pop in and say hi when you can, let us know what is going on in your world.

Well tomorrow is the big night! We will be heading to Fort Worth around 2 tomorrow afternoon to make sure we get to the Hannah Montana concert in plenty of time. I really hate it that these law suits are being filed against Mileys businesses. I just know that those tickets are being sold ahead of even the presale date by ticketmasters. I refuse to believe that I could click through right as they went on sale and the best seats I could get were 4 rows from the top. Just doesn't seem possible to me. It has to be the ticket broker selling them early.

Anyway, I probably won't be around tomorrow but will let you all know how it was Thursday!

Night everyone!

I got this email today and thought I would share it with all of you.

The brand new pastor and his wife, newly assigned

to their first ministry, to reopen a church

in suburban Brooklyn , arrived in early October

excited about their opportunities When they saw

their church, it was very run down and needed

much work. They set a goal to have everything

done in time to have their first service

on Christmas Eve.

They worked hard, repairing pews, plastering walls,

painting, etc, and on December 18

were ahead of schedule and just about finished.

On December 19 a terrible tempest - a driving

rainstorm hit the area and lasted for two days.

O n the 21st, the pastor went over to the church.

His heart sank when he saw that the roof had

leaked, causing a large area of plaster about

20 feet by 8 feet to fall off the front wall of the

sanctuary just behind the pulpit, beginning about

head high.

T he pastor cleaned up the mess on the floor,

and not knowing what else to do but postpone

the Christmas Eve service, headed home.

On the way he noticed that a local business was

having a flea market type sale for charity so he

stopped in. One of the items was a beautiful,

handmade, ivory colored, crocheted tablecloth

with exquisite work, fine colors and a Cross

embroidered right in the center. It was just

the right size to cover up the hole in the front

wall. He bought it and headed back to the church.

B y this time it had started to snow. An older

woman running from the opposite direction was

trying to catch the bus.. She missed it. The pastor

invited her to wait in the warm church for

the next bus 45 minutes later.

She sat in a pew and paid no attention to the pastor

while he got a ladder, hangers, etc., to put

up the tablecloth as a wall tapestry. The pastor

could hardly believe how beautiful it looked and

it covered up the entire problem area.

T hen he noticed the woman walking down the center

aisle. Her face was like a sheet.. "Pastor,"

she asked, "where did you get that tablecloth?"

The pastor explained. The woman asked him to check

the lower right corner to see if the initials, EBG were crocheted into

it there. They were. These were the initials of the woman, and she had

made this tablecloth 35 years before, in Austria

T he woman could hardly believe it as the pastor

told how he had just gotten the Tablecloth. The

woman explained that before the war she and

her husband were well-to-do people in Austria .

When the Nazis came, she was forced to leave.

Her husband was going to follow her the next week.

He was captured, sent to prison and never saw her

husband or her home again.

T he pastor wanted to give her the tablecloth;

but she made the pastor keep it for the church.

The pastor insisted on driving her home, that

was the least he could do.. She lived on the other

side of Staten Island and was only in Brooklyn

for the day for a housecleaning job.

W hat a wonderful service they had on Christmas

Eve. The church was almost full. The music and the

spirit were great. At the end of the service, the

pastor and his wife greeted everyone at the door

and many said that they would return.

One older man, whom the pastor recognized

from the neighborhood continued to sit in one of the

pews and stare, and the pastor wondered why he

wasn't leaving.

T he man asked him where he got the tablecloth on

the front wall because it was identical to one

that his wife had made years ago when

they lived in Austria before the war and how

could there be two tablecloths so much alike.

H e told the pastor how the Nazis came, how he

forced his wife to flee for her safety and he was

supposed to follow her, but he was arrested and

put in a prison.. He never saw his wife or his home

again all the 35 years in between.

The pastor asked him if he would allow him to

take him for a little ride. They drove to Staten

Island and to the same house where the pastor

had taken the woman three days earlier.

H e helped the man climb the three flights of

stairs to the woman's apartment, knocked on

the door and he saw the greatest Christmas

reunion he could ever imagine.

T rue Story - submitted by Pastor Rob Reid

Who says God does not work in mysterious ways..

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for

you today, to guide you and protect you as you go

along your way. His love is always with you, His

promises are true, and when we give Him all our

cares you know He will see us through.

S o when the road you're traveling on seems

difficult at best.. Just remember I'm here

praying and God will do the rest. Pass this on

to those you want God to bless and don't forget

to send it back to the one who asked God to bless

you first.

W hen there is nothing left but God, that is when

you find out that God is all you need. Take 60

seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply

say the following small prayer for the person

who sent you this.

Father, G od, bless all my friends and family in what

ever it is that You know they may be needing this

day! May their life be full of your peace,

prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a

closer relationship with you. Amen.

Then send it on to five other people, including the

one who sent it to you. Within hours five people have

prayed for you and you caused a multitude of people

to pray for other people. Then sit back and watch the

power of God work in your life.

Sorry I don't have much time to keep up right now. I feel like I am always saying that ...

Just wanted to stop by and say hi and, tho not responding, that I am reading and thinking of all of you.

I have 2 more days of work, and then I am off for a glorious 19 days. We host Thanksgiving this year. Too bad my house looks like a tsunami went through it. We'll need 3 days to clean!

Am I the only one who doesn't like Thanksgiving dinner? Seriously, I hate turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, sweet pototoes, gravy, cranberry sauce. Yes, "hosting" doesn't mean the same thing as "cooking" in this house. I have it catered. Why cook what I don't eat myself?! I couldn't taste it to see if it came out well.

Friday after Thanksgiving, we leave for Ft. Lauderdale. Both Mike and I have family there, and we're visiting for a few days before driving up to Orlando. Have to finish my trip report before then, for sure.

Hope everyone enjoys his/her holiday!

... my post count was too low. I better get that looked at.

Thanks for the tip on where to find the game.
The little blue pill might help the low post count thingie.
It's not Illinois either. It's the state of Squalor to live on Cletus and his sister/wife/mother's Brandine's farm. I can't wait for the Simpson ride!
You can get a Flaming Moe at Universal Studios' Kwik E Mart. It was originally a Flaming Homer that Homer cooked up when Patty took his last Duff. He mixed all the booze in the house and then the secret ingredient. Anyone know the secret ingredient?
Hang in here Pig we need a little more testosterone.

Could it be... Cough Syrup?

Loved the pix Tricia!!! (Was wondering how the Wii worked out?) (and i won't mention Brad's shirt....again....:rolleyes1 )

Hey, it was a special occasion, so we have to pull from the "Vacation and Special Occasion" shirt collection.

I have a great stuffing/dressing recipe that has sausage, apples & dried cranberries in it. Brad & I love it, but nobody else will eat it. If it isn't cornbread, they won't touch it. :snooty: Maybe I'll make both anyway.

boy oh boy all you guys that live or are going to florida are a bunch of lucky ducks.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get to do what you want with the job situation. Let me know what happens.

I should know by tomorrow what the results of my blood test is. Carol is suppose to get a Procrit (sp?) shot to help boost her blood, but I want to be able to donate if she needs it.

Carol has always done the Black Friday shopping trip. Getting up at 4am and the whole thing. She loves it. She's tried to talk me into going with her for years, but hasn't convinced me yet. :rolleyes1

Good to see you Mac! We have a lot of retired people in our area, at least for part of the year. We get the snow birds that decided to roost here for the summer, then head down to Florida for the winter. Brad's parents do that. I don't know that I can do the divided home thing, but if Brad wants to look at Florida for retirement we'll probably wind up that way. I'm a nester, so I don't know if I can have more than one "home".

Well tomorrow is the big night! We will be heading to Fort Worth around 2 tomorrow afternoon to make sure we get to the Hannah Montana concert in plenty of time. Good luck with the Hannah Montana concert. It's a good thing you don't have to hear to type so you can tell us how it went. I'm imagining tons of screaming young girls. :scared1:
I'll have to side with Barb and say that the Man Upstairs knew what he was doing when he gave me sons. :rolleyes1

I don't like cranberry sauce, but other than that, I'm a big fan of the meal. I don't blame you for not cooking if you don't like the food. Brad orders fish almost everytime we are in a restaurant that has it on the menu. Why? Because I hate fish. Since I hate fish, I refuse to cook it. His mom seems to think there something wrong with me. You're suppose to cater to your husband's every need, wish, and whim... right? To say that his parents are "old fashioned" would be the understatment of the century. I'll have to tell you some of the stories of what Brad's sister puts up with in her marriage. That would be Idiot Nephew's mom. :sad2:

boy oh boy all you guys that live or are going to florida are a bunch of lucky ducks.

I just noticed that you are from n'ville, KY.....we have VERY good friends from there......how cool is that??? :cool1:

Hmmmm, thought for sure I'd have offers to come help me clean this pigsty I am living in right now. :confused3 I am not feeling the love for some reason? :rotfl:

How is everyone today?

What will everyone be doing for the holiday? Can you believe it is just about a week away?

Someone asked, and I am totally with Tricia on this one ... I do not go near a mall between Thanksgiving and Christmas unless I absolutely have to!

I am very jealous that Joshua got a Wii ... I have been looking for one as I'd love to get my brother and sister-in-law one for Christmas. I came up with the idea a few weeks ago, only to find out that I'd have better luck getting Barbra Streisand to vote Republican. I could get one, I suppose, but I do not want to pay a big mark-up. I mean, I love my brother, but not THAT much!

If I come help you, will you come help me?? I have a contractor and plumber coming at 4:30 and I hope they don't need to go down the basement :scared1: :scared1: ....its pretty scary with all the backed up laundry down there. Not to mention that both sides of the double sink have dishes that need to be done. Eh, I will get around to it......too busy trying to find a good deal at RPR or HRH for early dec (1-4, 2-5 or such)for me and Jim to celebrate the 10 years of marriage (about a month and a half late).....airfare is killing my mojo here

back to looking :surfweb:

Tracie, I will totally help you, although I think I will make out in the deal .... I would be embarrassed to have anyone see this house right now. :sad2:

I vote for HRH .... only $179 with Super Saver rate. Besides ... we'll be there that first weekend of December. Come join us! Good luck with the airfare. Last minute deals suck. Are you using Side Step and kayak and farecast.com?
