Howdy all!!!!

Went MIA this weekend, so count it as an unexcused absence :flower3:

Barb - Ridley wins, Penn State wins, Eagles win :cool1:Good Football weekend around here:cool1: Sorry to hear about the loss on the game for Bubba.....hope the schedule works out and he can get into the goalie position!!

Janet - glad to see you smiling :thumbsup2 What color are we painting the LR?? have to do a before and after shot ya know, for those home improvement junkies like me :rotfl:

Lori - I loved the pictures and loved to see you!!!! Now I can place the face when I am talking to you! Makes it easier!!

Todd - glad to see that you are still here :)

Jodie - I was reading your latest installment of your TR, all I can say is :scared1: OhMy!!!!!

mac - hope all is going well on the homefront, stop in and catch up soon!!!

rose - continued thoughts and prayers for gramma and better times ahead for DH and the job situation

tricia - sing with me sista: "two nakey monkeys jumpin on the bed......":lmao: :lmao: Glad to hear the party was a success and cannot wait to see some photos.

Cbean had a great iceskating lesson on Saturday. She was so happy being back on the ice. She would skate every day if we let her. I am taking Kbean to see Fall Out Boy tomorrow night :faint: better bring my earplugs so she does not render me deaf with her screeching!! :upsidedow

We have decided to go ahead with the kitchen mini-redo ...YAY!!! I need to figure out what to do with the "backsplash area" that extends from the fridge all the way around to the stove. The geniuses that owned this place before us put that fake brick stuff up and it is up there for good  Jim told me to paint it white and I think that will look awful....I also don't know what to do with the dark cabinets. I need Ty Pennington in here to knock out some walls or something!!

Got my nephews today, their preschool is closed for Veterans Day so my day will be filled with being a referee, picking up food particles, chasing them to wipe down their noses and lots of timeouts for jumping on the furniture. Any wonder why I stopped watching them everyday??? LOL!!! They are a handful but I love them to pieces!!!

Anyone I may have missed, HI!!!! I tried to look up as much as possible, but I haven't had enough coffee yet :coffee: Hope you all had a great weekend!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Barb - A goalie, huh? If that's what Bubba wants, that's great! Me? I'd never make a good goalie. I'd do the girlie duck-cover-and-squeal thing.

Todd- Always good to see you. Well, see what you typed. You know what I mean.

Janet - Glad you got a laugh. I feel like I've been beaten and left for the vultures. Why do we do these big family parties year after year? Oh, yeah... they're fun... I think...

Lori - You have a good day too

Tracie - Hooray for the kitchen project. You'll have to take lots of pictures. I hope you survive the nephews.

I know that I missed some stuff over the weekend. Forgive me. Joshua's birthday was Saturday and we took him to see Bee Movie as his special treat. Yesterday was the big party. I am beat. I'll try to get some pictures up later.

HELLO!!! IS anyone in here?????

Man has it been quiet around here the last few days!

I have some pictures.

Friday was Joshua's little birthday party at school. We took a cupcake cake:

JoshuaBday1.jpg

These are great because you don't need a knife to serve them and everyone gets the same size, etc. None of the usual cake-at-school issues.

Here's Joshua when we got home from school showing off his birthday crown, Lightening McQueen (from his cupcakes), and hanging around his neck was his special birthday "prize"... a whistle (yeah, thanks for that :sad2: ).

JoshuaBday2.jpg

The new Spongebob Squarepants is coming on, so I have to be a good mom and share the moment. I'll try to get more pics up later.

My favorite new saying:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
I feel like I've been beaten and left for the vultures:banana: where's the tag fairy when you need one?

Why do we do these big family parties year after year? Oh, yeah... they're fun... I think...you sure?;)

fantastic cake picture (never did sit thru that flicK lol) and a matching whistle:yay:

tracie - can't place fall out boy - have fun though! Ice skating sounds very cool. my LR walls were a "light" wedgewood blue; they are now supposed to be spiced pumpkin...HA! I went out & bought a package of creamsicles, think about 1/2 the intensity & you've got it:upsidedow . Riotous thing is our HS team colors are orange & black. Yep, i bought all new black wooden shelves, wraught iron picture hangers etc. & my mickey mouse mirror:cheer2: . My kids think it's a hoot; cannot wait for the nasty remarks from my inlaws:snooty: @ Thanksgiving...think i'll serve wine.

lori - hows the DL planning coming? DH was granted vacation beginning 6/21 for 2 weeks...figure we'll go for 8 nights beginning on a mon or tues; hoping for cheap airfare on SW. The May fares are ridiculously expensive, hope they set them high will ding or sale price them.

Couldn't get Columbus day (either week before or after) for Orlando this year...it's squirrel season:scared: . We'll be there the week of Oct. 19th...anyone else?

Hey all..... is it summer vacation time yet :rolleyes1 I am beat! :faint: Work, laundry, food shopping, Christmas shopping, 3 games in 3 days...(2 out of 3 at least a half hour drive 1 way :headache: )

Well.....first indoor game tonite.....we tied. Can I just vent about "nazi parent" in the stands behind us? :headache: This guy was yelling SO loud, the lady I was sitting next to couldn't hear me! We were like "Dude...not like the kids can hear ya!" Shut the h**l up!" The mothers on our team have noticed how "laid back" our parents are compared to other teams' parents.... They really do ruin it for the others.... So, Bubba let in 3 goals...1 not his fault.... Coach still wants him to work the goalie thing and he's all for it :confused3 Matter of fact...come spring, they are going to work on it outside  Dunno if DH and I can handle it.....sometimes I close my eyes when it's "intense" down at the goal :scared: ...but, gotta stay supportive...it's what they both want.... Here is some hilights from the "nazi" game yesterday...(Ry starts on defense #40 blue jersey) and then ends up in goal about half way thru: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=21903486 )

He also got his report card today....very good...very proud.... Needs to utilize his time a little more wisely, other than that, he's doing great! :thumbsup2

Janet....I would love to see pix of the finished LR...those colors sound way cool! Oh, and when the in-laws have 'comments'...tell 'em "Wait'll you see what I have lined up next!" :rotfl: (Either that, or tell 'em if they don't like it, don't look! )

Tricia....fabulous cupcake cake!!! Good thing Joshua doesn't have any front teeth...the black icing does wonders on them! :rolleyes1 (please don't ask how i know that!) Sounds like you're tired, which means successful weekend! :thumbsup2 How did things go celebrating the niece's birthday too (she was 19, right?)

Tracie....glad to hear CBean is enjoying the skating...such a good sport for physical fitness and exercise....especially if it's something she enjoys! Glad to hear you get a kitchen remodel :woohoo: I agree...ya can't paint that brick stuff white .... :sad2: matter of fact, I don't think you want "white" anything back there:scared: ....go w/ ceramic tile or something of the sorts. Are your cabinets wood? Can you facelift them or sand them and restain? Again, wouldn't 'paint' them  Oh.....and be sure to take before and after pix...you'll be glad you did :thumbsup2

Guess that's about it for now......oh, and I will probably be quitting my office job before Thanksgiving :teeth: (told ya I had 'stuff' goin' on around here!)

Hey everyone!

Been a really busy weekend...and ...I couldn't get onto the DIS all weekend! The connection kept timing out and I couldn't get here on anyone's computer! Very frustrating!

Busy week ahead, can't wait for Thanksgiving!

Anyone a Black Friday shopper???

Black Friday IS the holiday @ my house:banana:

Not as good as the "old days" anymore, the word has gotten out:sad2: . In Pittsburgh the college kids are lined up a 1/4 mile outside the Best Buy on Thursday before the turkey's been put away...can you say eBay?:rolleyes1

Barb - goalie is a very high-profile position, i've seen kids subjected to crap from team-mates & parents...as in the goat. Meanwhile, if the defenders did their job there wouldn't be so many shots on goal. FYI, when playing outside (especially @ away games) make sure the goal post is secured in the ground (very dangerous if it tips-can cause crushing injuries).

It's mammogram #2 day for mom:wizard: ; hope they give the results in just 2 days again this time.

thought i had another week before Thanksgiving, where did the time go:confused3 ; imo it's very early this year?

Morning all.....

Anyone a Black Friday shopper???

Nope...I'm a Black Friday sleeper-in'er :rotfl2: Actually, Bubba comes to work with me that day....no skool = sleepin in! (DH & I both work Black Friday) And, quite frankly, I'd rather spend more money for something than get up at 4am to get it cheaper! :headache:

Don't forget about the websites that 'announce' the sale ads prior to T-Day ;)

I know it's a high-profile position...that's why we are a nervous wreck each time Coach puts him in goal! :rolleyes1 Each goal he lets in, I feel 'personally' responsible for! I know I shouldn't, but I do. But hey...it's Coach's team, he knows what he's doin :confused3 And I DID see that report on the nets not being secured  That poor little boy that was crushed to death :guilty: Luckily, that is one thing our league refs are checking prior to games...that and ID!

Good luck Momma! :wizard: Here's wishin' the best :thumbsup2

And...yes, Thanksgiving IS early this year....next week! :scared1: however we gets an extra week between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year....and boy, am I gonna need it! :sad2:

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Live entertainment courtesy the house across the street this weekend. I think it started inside but we caught wind when the female brought all of the guys clothes out and threw them on the driveway. The guy reciprocates by throwing (literally) the girl into the lawn. My wife loses it while the neighborhood kids are gathering on the front porch for the ringside seats. My wife calls the landlord. The guy emerges from the house with a bloody rag wrapped around his hand. He walks a ways down the street before returning to throw her out and locking the doors. She goes nuts and smashing a window after some hysterical cussing and door pounding. The cops arrive to cheers from the kids on the porch. The ambulance arrives but the guy refuses to go to the hospital. The road is entirely blocked with official cars and trucks. My son has to get to work at the hospital. He considers asking the ambulance for a lift. The ambulance ends up coming back to take the guy to the hospital. The landlord tells us that he is evicting them.

Barb - Great video of Bubba! He looks like he knows what he's doing. Most of the young boy soccer games I've seen... it looked like a group of boys were standing in a circle around a ball kicking each other in the shins. I guess I must have caught them a couple of years younger... 6ish, maybe?

Giving up on the office job, huh? I didn't sound like a really comfortable or fun place to be anymore... if it ever was. Keep me posted!

Katie - I wouldn't go near a shopping establishment on Black Friday if somebody paid me to. Wait. If somebody paid me a LOT, I'd consider it. Other than that, forget it. I'll just use the trusty old internet here and take advantage of the online sales-plus-free-shipping-deals. Let Santa come to me like he's suppose to. ;)

Janet - Good luck on mammogram #2 for mom. It looks like I'm doing Thanksgiving dinner this year, so I've got to gear up for the packed house and cooking thing too.

Fletch (just doesn't seem right to abbreviate you "MF" for some reason :rolleyes1 ) - Don't you love it when your neighbors provide you with free entertainment? It's like watching an episode of Cops, but live!

I'm about to run to the doctor's office to get my blood checked again. I've been on the prescription iron for a month now and I'm hoping the numbers look good. Carol's blood work numbers were extremely low when she went for her off week checkup and it looks like she might need blood. She'd rather use a known donor, so I'm hoping I can provide it!

I'll be back with more birthday pics later... I hope...

Barb - Loved the video! I know how you feel about the goalie position. DS plays goalie in ice hockey. It took me years to stop feeling like he should save every goal. Sometimes I had to actually leave the stands, cause I felt sick to my stomach! Nowadays, I can watch without feeling too bad for him. This will be his last year playing I think. He's not sure if he's going to play in college.
Sounds like it might be good for you to quit that job. Too much stress!

Katie - glad you finally got on the DIS! Any new crafty projects going on?
Yep - my daughter and I hit up the mall on Friday morning after Thanksgiving at 1 am. They have "Rockin Shopin Eve". Bands playing, prizes and sales at all the stores all night long! We never buy much, but its something fun for a mother daughter night out. Even more fun now that she is old enough to have a drink with me!

Janet - sending good thoughts your way on Moms mammogram.
We need a visual on the living room!
I watch "Dog" occasionally. I think its a bum rap on the canceling of his show. Thats just the way he talks, and the people that he is surounded with talk. I'm not saying that its right, its just the way it is.

Tricia - cool cake! Looks like he had a great time. Whats on the menu for Thanksgiving?

Tracy - I agree, don't paint the fake brick. Can you pull it off and maybe replace it with tile? I really like the glass tiles.
Ty can come visit me any ole time!!

Todd - I'm heading to Fort Lauderdale this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn't rain!

Hi to everyone else that I might have missed!

Good to see you Sharon! Have fun in Ft Lauderdale. We had a GREAT time. We drank Rum Runners one night into the wee hours of the morning at a waterside bar... ummm... Bahia Cabana, I think? Good live music, good service, good drinks. :cool1:

Thanksgiving dinner... ugh... I don't want to think about it. I haven't recovered from the birthday yet, but I'll have to start making cornbread and such for the dressing by Monday. At least we get a free turkey from our grocery store. They have one of those deals where you get a point for every $45 you spend from the middle of October to the middle of November, and when you get 6 points you earn a free turkey. It's money I'm spending anyway, so I'll take the free bird!

It is ladybug season here. Ick. I have one of the little critters crawling up my monitor. Ladybugs are cute until you get them by the thousands. When we walk outside right now, they land all over you. :headache:

So, back to Joshua's birthday. Saturday we went to see the Bee Movie, which was cute. Enough humor and jokes aimed at the grownups that I laughed as often as Joshua did. Sunday was crazy day. I hadn't done nearly the prep that I normally do prior to the day that everyone is coming, so I had to hit the floor running from the moment I got out of bed. It all came together, however, and everyone started arriving about 1pm. By 2pm, we were all around the table eating hotdogs and hamburgers.

JoshuaBday3.jpg

After lunch, Joshua had his birthday cake.

JoshuaBday4.jpg

He is on the phone to Carol, so she could sing him Happy Birthday along with everyone else. Carol & Deb stayed home since we had some cold germs flying around our house (still do) and she can't be exposed to anything.

If you couldn't see his cake, here it is:

JoshuaBday5.jpg

He requested a Super Mario birthday party. Thank heavens for eBay. They haven't made Mario party supplies in years, but thanks to weeks of searching I was able to come up with the cake decorations... which I can re-sell on eBay now that I'm done with them and make some other desperate mom happy. :thumbsup2

And my niece? The one turning 19? Yeah, she got her girlie cake and party supplies. How about Cinderella... :rolleyes1

JoshuaBday6.jpg

I've got to run Brad some lunch, but I'll be back later with more party pics.

Hi all-

Tricia- enjoyed the birthday pics :cool1:
Happy Birthday to Joshua :bday: :cake: party:
That's great that your family likes to get together for the kids birthdays(talking about grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc). My parents don't really like to get together anymore for the kids birthdays, when my kids were alot younger they did.

Ok, gotta get the kids off the bus and take Matthew to band practice at the jr. high. Starting today, every Tues I have to do this.

Hi to all!

jeez Tricia...that is either SOME lunch or Brad is REALLY far away :rolleyes1

Ha Ha! I got caught up at the office with the "as long as you're here" stuff. Wound up going straight from there to pick Joshua up from school and then the afternoon routine.

So, after the food, we started in on the presents.

JoshuaBday7.jpg

JoshuaBday8.jpg

Oh, yeah. Leave it to Grandmom to find the impossible-to-get Wii. :rolleyes1
Daniel got one un-birthday present. An inflatable Thinking Chair (from Blues Clues).

JoshuaBday9.jpg

Next, we moved on to the pinata. Joshua decided that since there were no Mario pinatas, he would pick Daniel's current favorite. Such a sweet big brother.

JoshuaBday10.jpg

JoshuaBday11.jpg

After everyone left, Joshua dived in and started unboxing his gifts. Here is his first Snoopy Sno-cone:

JoshuaBday12.jpg

I had to take this one from around the corner. Joshua snuck in a turn in the Thinking Chair.

JoshuaBday13.jpg

Remember me posting the boys were jumping naked on my bed with plastic spoons in their hands?

JoshuaBday14.jpg

Joshua tried to teach Daddy how to use the new Wii control.

JoshuaBday15.jpg

The next morning, it was clear that somebody partied too hard...

Thanks for the welcome Macraven. Long time listener, first time caller. This thread moves at the speed of light. I can't keep up with the players without a program. I tried to post earlier but made an "error" because my post count was too low. I better get that looked at.

Not Indiana. Actually it's between Shelbyville and Springfield on Cletus and Brandine's farm.
