Sounds like you guys had a fun night out Barb. Also, the set up for where you went to see it sounds almost exactly like the Lakewood Ampitheater in Atlanta. Wait, somebody bought the name...ummm... oh, yeah... the HiFi Buys Ampitheater in Atlanta. Covered seating near the stage, sloped lawn in the back, midway area off to the side... and in a horrible part of South Atlanta. One of my best friends and I went to see Pat Benatar and Styx there and she made a wrong turn as we were leaving the parking lot. Okay, she was IMPATIENT as we were leaving the parking lot and refused to wait in line, so she turned the other way from everyone else. I found myself saying, "There is a reason why everyone was going the other way. First, it is the most direct route to the interstate to get us the heck out of here. Second, STICK WITH THE CROWD. Let me introduce you to the Stewart Avenue hookers. The really pretty ones are men."
And Good Morning to Everyone!
But it's Monday, and my house is a mess, and I've got laundry... and I am stuck in a hamster wheel, aren't I? Sigh.
We are shopping for a new church. Yesterday's didn't work out. It is SO frustrating trying to find a place where we are all happy. The church that we were members of went through some major upheaval around the first of the year and we just had to remove ourselves from the situation. We've been trying to find a new home church ever since. Most of the churches in this area are small, esablished ones (i.e. my great-grandfather was married in this church) and you will always be an outsider... or they are Mega churches and I feel lost in them. I don't want to sit next to strangers week after week. We tried a popular Mega church for awhile, but they could never find a small group where Brad & I fit. Fortysomethings? Number 1, Brad is 50. Number 2, most of these people have grown children, not little ones like us. Tried the Parents of Young group. Nope. They are mostly in their 20s and in a different place in their life. Form a We Don't Fit In group and we might have a shot.
Anyway, we are about to try the Presbyterian and Baptist churches near the town square. They are large, but not HUGE. I think we have to get out of the Pentecostal ones for awhile. I can't take the drama.
So, my sister has cancer (again)... my son is the target of a bully... our busniess is struggling... my mom is a mess and won't deal with all the stuff she needs to deal with... and I have a carpet full of dog hair.
Anyone want to come join me for a pity party? I'll buy the booze.

Things will get better - they have to! You're in our prayers! And I know what you mean about the church - I was just typing a whole story about our problems with our last church to an online friend yesterday. We went through this at our last church (lots of reasons we weren't happy) and it probably worked out well that we were moving a few months later. We have found a good church here and we're glad. Keep looking and I'm sure you'll find something!
DS making confirmation next Wednesday, thought all the paperwork was set for his sponsor - nope! Padre is leaving town for a week, paperwork needs to be into diociese by Monday. Only person who could stop in & sign paper that could go @ lunch time (attesting to the fact that they'll go to church & be a practicing Catholic) is DIL - my sons BOTH OF THEM are going to freak......anyone want to trade places with me tonight

My son got a shut out at his hockey game Sunday! They won 3-0! GO HUSKIES!
