Tracie: First I must say, my Mom was "out" for MY birth too.... :rotfl2: NEVER pass up an opportunity to rub in what a sissy she was (I had Bubba naturally and with NO drugs at all.....long story, another time).

Now, let me interject, my niece is going to be 15 on Thanksgiving this year.....I forget how old Kait is, but I have some of the "personal" feelings that go along with this. I would not color under 10. Around 10-11-12 is where they start, and I would have to say "no" to a "whole head" of color...like Alison said, you get roots and it's an upkeep every 4 weeks. There is NO way to get back to the natural color. Tell you why....look at her hair how it is now. The color is lighter at the ends than at the roots. This occurs on everyone (w/o color) naturally, as the "ends" are older and have "faded their color" from the elements over the years. If you cut all that hair off, she'd be left with what color the roots are. The color the roots are NOW, will take years to lighten to match the ends. I'd go for a rinse out color, or what I get my clients to do, is start with "light" hilights around the face. Make 'em THIN and SPARSE...enough she can see them, but not so much there will be obvious regrowth. And, here's a tip: color does NOT lighten color. I err on the side of "too light" vs. "too dark", because you can always make hair darker, but to lighten too dark a shade, will ruin the hair....the only way to lighten it is bleach. Period. So, I would get her some "face framers" hilights around her face...(thin and sparse) and go from there. She can always add more down the road. If I remember right, she IS at that age where she is going to want that stuff. Sit her down, and explain: UNDER ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS SHE TO USE HOME HAIR COLOR....it will be harsher on her hair and she will most likely end up with it too dark because it NEVER comes out like the box ;) . I hope this info helps.....I just would hate to see her 'ruin' her hair with permanant haircolor at such an early age. Think of it this way: color is made to cover gray. Most gray hairs are "coarse" (because they lack pigment/color...which is what conditions and keeps the hair soft)....now, if you are trying to cover gray "coarse" hair, that chemical had better be pretty darn tough! Get where I'm going?? Please let me know if you or she has any other questions..... Will await decision.....

i have never had a margarita.
am i missing out on something good?

just passing the time until bubba's mom comes back with the 411.

how young were you when you started to get gray hairs?
i found my first couple of white hairs last week. i always thought it would be gray but mine were very white
guess this means i am old..........

I was only about 20 when I started graying...my mom was completely white-headed by the time she was 35 :scared1:, but I've made it past that hump (I'm 37) and I think can still say that I have more brown hair than white hair. I've gone a few shades lighter to help blend it a little better though.....

alison, i just had finished a long reply to you and my server cut out on me.
lost everything.....

can't even remember what all i was posting to you.

hope you didn't mind me asking when you started to get gray hair.
20 is young. i mean, you can't even drink at age 20 legally.....

Hi Allison! Great to see you. Did you get that massive rain storm we got last night? The airport got over 6" in two hours! DH had to go to work late because the interstate was closed for a little bit while the ain water drained off.

Hey Lori! We got rain last night and today too in spurts, but not a terrible storm. I don't know how much we got...it's still so hot down here that it just gets the ground a little muddy, and it seems to evaporate pretty quickly and it just seems sticky outside.

No....I didn't mind you asking how old I was when I started coloring my hair...I admitted to coloring my hair, a lot of women have a hard time with that, but not me. I don't have a problem with my age either. Yeah, I was married at 19 and coloring my hair at 20. I had been married for nearly 2 years before I had my first margarita! Mac, you seriously do need to have a margarita!!!! If I ever meet up with you at the motherland, I will buy you a margarita!

:scared1:  :scared1:  :scared1:

UH,....you MUST have one for me at Mville....the raspberry one :goodvibes

Never had a raspberry margarita....hmmmm, maybe I need to try one...

Speaking of Margaritas.......there's a bar inside Cafe La Bamba (at the studios) that serves a really good margarita called a Mayan Margarita (and it's pretty stout too!)! You don't even have to go inside the restaurant, they have a walk-up window from the outside!

Didn't know about THAT one.... :scratchin ....Margaritas To Go at Mville was always my stop ;)

Mornin' homies....been up since 6am :guilty: (i am NOT a morning person)...so, just waiting for the guy to come to clean the heater :rolleyes1 DH woke Bubba up on his way out too.....he wanted to play his computer game  (poor kid didn't have much playing time after his busy evening :rolleyes2 ) Oh, and i forgot to thank all the "toe-wishers" :rotfl: feels better today, but looks bit worse :confused3

Thanks for all the welcomes! It's hard to find a place where you can just chat about Universal - or anything else for that matter.

Bubba's mom - did you break your toe? I just got over a broken toe, and it is no laughing matter. A broken toe sounds silly and trivial, but I was in a lot of pain for weeks. I broke it 3 weeks before we went to Orlando, and I did a lot of limping and popping ibuprofen. But I wasn't going to let it stop me. Hope it gets better soon for you!

Yep...you are in the right spot to "hang out" and chat...about Unviersal and everything else.... (you'll find Tricia (RVGAL) ends up talking about poop a lot :confused3 ) Oh...sorry to hear about YOUR toe  No, I don't think I broke it, it's bruised and cut pretty good. Of course I've now been walking on it for a bit this morning, and now the 'hurt' is comin' back....oh well...just have to deal :sad2: Odd thing about the toe....Penny broke/hurt hers earlier this summer and she was in some pain! Hope it stays warm enuf for flipflops cuz I can't imagine squeezing my foot into sneakers :sad2: AND, DH & I have a concert/show on Saturday nite..... greeeaaattttt :guilty: Hope nobody steps on my foot :scared:

Barb,

Thanks for the info. That is as far as I am allwing her to go with the dye thing. Kait is 12 1/2 going on 17 and making us crazy. I told her its either the highlights or nothing. She goes to the lady who cuts all of our har tomorrow (Jim is the one who started with her when he was like 20 :scared1: ) so she knows us really well. Lets just say we let it ALL hang out when we chit chat with her :rotfl2: :lmao: Kait is getting her hair cut and I will ask "D" for her opinion/talk to Kait about what hair coloring does to your hair, etc. as well :thumbsup2

That's good you have a good relationship w/ your stylist and she "knows" you all....that way, she just won't see the "$" when you mention color! (I hate when stylists are all about the money and not the "satisfaction" :sad2: ) Good luck and if/when the hilites happen, take a pic for me :teeth:

ONCE! I talked about poop ONCE and I get branded as the poop lady. :sad2: :lmao:

You guys did some chatting yesterday! I'm blond and I didn't take notes, so forgive me. I'm still not at my best this morning. I guess I'm going to break down and call the #*@% doctor's office. Can't you feel my excitement?

keisha - (you are Janet, right?)

Hubba hubba what handsome guys you have!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

usually, today i want to be princess peach!

thanks, everyone sez the groom & I are clones; middle DS could pass for younger version of ex; youngest has all his dad's features too:confused3

Whatever you chose, beats the heck out of piercings! keep DD away from sunin! face framing highlights/chunks give you bang for the buck - i defer to the resident expert...

barb - event of the season was last Dec. 2 days before Xmas, and shortly after we returned from vacation...went by in a whirl.

mac - :scared1: never became one with a margaritta? Frozen are even better in the summer; chase it down with a couple of ice-cold coronas (lemon not lime;) ) and you'll see visions of the motherland.

tracy - no poopie, i now envision you surrounded by your neighbors:rotfl:

i have never had a margarita.
am i missing out on something good?

Ummmmm, in a word: YES!!!!!!! Crazy, crazy.

I hereby summon you to a Margarita before our HHN RIP. I will buy you the Perfect Margarita. No fru-fru nonsense. Not frozen. The way a Margarita SHOULD be made. It's not on the menu. You need to ask for it specifically. Salt optional. No ifs, ands, or BUTTS!!!!!!!

By the way, I think I am a wedding snob. Not that my own wedding was out of Martha Stewart or anything, not even close. However, I do believe that if you haven't made your wedding convenient and worthwhile for guests to attend, then you shouldn't bother inviting anyone. Or at the very least, not be mad when people don't want to come to your wedding. I know that's mean, but since when did it become OK for people to have to take off work to attend weddings (Friday afternoon weddings, Sunday night weddings, Destination weddings) AND pay for their own drinks at your wedding? Again, WHY do I read the community board?

:rotfl2: Okay....PP and Elmer.....:lmao:

:rotfl2: uh....more than once honey..... sorry to hear you're not much better....(maybe it was a dessert? ) Anyhow, I believe the doctor's number is 1-800-not-again :rolleyes1

Jodie....you just don't learn to stay away from that CB, do you? :rolleyes1  Are you upset you didn't get an invitation?

I know ... the CB is like a train wreck ... you can't help watching!

Now, this is just Jodie, but Jodie would NEVER. EVER. IN A MILLION AND 3 YEARS. ask her wedding guests to fly out to Las Vegas for a short chapel ceremony, then take her guests out to a buffet (not in a private room, just a buffet), AND make her guests pay for their own drinks and provide no other entertainment. I prefer not to think this makes me a snob. Just that I would be more of a gracious host than that. But, again, that's just me.

And, since I'm referring to myself in the 3rd person, I bet you can all tell that I am once again on midnights.

Speaking of weddings, I should dig out some wedding pics to post ....
